Overall, we had a nice time and enjoyed our stay. Lila was communicative and responsive before we arrived. The apartment was clean and in a great location.
We did have a few hiccups with the process. We hit traffic, construction and hail on our drive to St. Remy and were very late. Lila was clearly annoyed and we never heard from her after she let us into the apartment -- including for checkout or to give her the key back. I stashed it and left her an email about it, but never heard back.
The supplies were sparse. For one week stay, we were left one roll of TP, no dish soap, two dishwasher tabs. There was pepper, but no salt or other basic kitchen spices. None of this was a big deal at all and we picked all of it up. It just would have been nice to know in advance as we could have brought our own.
But in general, the location makes up for these little things.
Really great location in St. Remy de Provence. Lila's apartment was spacious and nice. Just a super short walk away from middle of town. Clean apartment, well furnished. Nice pool. Lila was a responsive and kind host. Even brought us a bottle of lovely rose in the middle of our stay. Difficult to communicate with though, unless you speak French. I would recommend written communications in English.
This wasn't an apartment where someone lives permanently - it is only furnished for short term rentals - so beware that there isn't the usual stock of salt / pepper / coffee / toilet paper / soap / cleaning supplies, etc. I would recommend you plan to go to the nearby supermarket as soon as you arrive. But there was plenty of plates, cookware, glasses, etc.
Also, wifi was not dependable, but I think that may be just the way it is in the south of France.
The reservation was canceled 10 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
My family and I (wife, daughter, sister and mother in law) spent a wonderful week at this apartment. Lila is a great host and the place is better than in the pictures. The pool was very refreshing, the apartment is very large and comfortable. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone to stay here. Downtown saint Remy is only 10 minutes walking, the grocery store is 5 minutes or less. There really isn't enough good things to say about this place. I would not hesitate to recommend this place and if I come back I will book it again.
The experience was really great, the town is probably one of the best towns to stay, is near many other towns, and is really great. We could walk to get food in 5 minutes, so the house is very convenient. The host was great, she was there when we arrived, she help us a lot. Overall we had a great experience.
Spacious and comfortable apartment in a perfect location! A private pool and reserved offstreet parking within easy walking distance of the center of St. Remy -- what could be better? We would return in a heartbeat.
The hostess is charming and very accommodating. She lives right there in the building, so is available if you have problems or questions.
The apartment is exactly as pictured. It is clean and bright, with a small private terrace and courtyard off the living area, where we enjoyed our breakfast every morning. It is in a modern building and has an air conditioner in the main room, though you'll only need it on rare afternoons (why not just sit by the pool?). It always cools down at night, and there's almost no humidity, so we were comfortable even during a heat wave. The cicadas don't buzz at night, so you can leave the windows open to let the fresh air in. We stayed on the ground floor and it was very quiet -- we could not hear the folks upstairs at all. Note that access to the apartment does require going up 2 or 3 steps with no railing. Also, the double bed has a headboard and footboard, so anyone over about 5'10" may feel a bit cramped unless they sleep curled up.
There is a small supermarket within about 3 blocks that has all the basic necessities The center of St. Remy is only about a 10 minute walk, and there you can find pretty much anything. (I wish I could remember the name of the AMAZING ice cream shop!) There was something different happening in the main square almost every day we were there (market, wine festival, etc), so be sure to go into town often.
