We stayed in the condo for Mother's Day weekend and it was amazing. The condo is so so so clean and beautifully decorated. It's a short walk down a path by the pool to the beach and the beach is outstanding. There are restaurants along the walk to the beach (Dairy Queen for the kids!) and Sliders Restaurant and bar for the adults at night. Sliders even has a big playground on it for the kids during the day - you can spend the day at the beach and visit Sliders to cool off and reapply sunblock if need be. The pool is excellent and clean too, it's huge! Publix, Walmart, and Winn Dixie are all really close by so you don't have to eat out at all - the kitchen is stocked perfectly. We cooked every night because really the kitchen has everything you need. There are tons of towels for the beach and kids and family to shower off with, the linens are stocked full, there is even an extra twin air mattress should someone decide not to sleep on the pull out sofa! We couldn't find one thing that they didn't have in the condo - it's perfect. A short trip into town (you can't walk it, drivable though - about 2 miles up the road) is historic Fernandina Beach and a lot of good restaurants and boutiques and museums. You can eat on the water or in the little town. We ate at Kelley's Cafe and had the fried green tomato sandwich, it was to die for. My family had the most amazing time and we couldn't ask for better hosts. Rent here and you won't regret it. :D
the place was great . we felt right at home from the moment we arrived . would love to go back soon
My wife Linda and I have a villa in Amelia Landings Resort that we use when we winter in Florida. At other times it is available for renting. We are retired educators from a community college in Marshalltown, Iowa. Bob has three daughters and four grandsons in Orlando, FL and Charleston, SC. Linda has two sons, one in St. Paul, MN, and one in Mason City, IA. We both teach psychology part-time, both online and face-to-face. Bob is also a part-time marriage counselor.
We are both seniors, and I am an Air Force vet (from many years ago), so we like to offer discounts to seniors and military persons (active, former, retired, Guard, dependents, disabled, etc.).
We both love to walk. I have been a cyclist for many years, including a Portland OR to central Iowa the year I turned 50. When we travel we enjoy checking local breweries and wineries.
