The apartment was very central. We were able to walk everywhere easily. The unit was spacious and quiet. I would certainly recommend it to anyone visiting Rome and wanting to see the sights. We were met at the airport by a driver Sophie arranged, and Davide met us at the apartment and showed us around. He also gave us some local tips on where to eat and how things worked in Rome. Highly recommended.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! Davide was there to meet me and went over a map with me. I was on my own and loved the big tub after a day of walking, the bed was cozy too. There is a restaurant right outside, but I found the noise not to be too much, and almost non existent when you're downstairs. Easy walking distance to everything, food shopping across the street, Piazza Navonna a few minutes away. I walked everywhere and saw everything I wanted. Plus, I managed to lock myself out on day one, barefoot, no phone and had to use the poor man at the news stand down the roads laptop to email Davide to come let me back in, he was there in 20 minutes. Sophie also arranged for my transport from and to the airport, which made things way easier and I thought well worth it! A lovely place. My only complaint was no TV signal when I was ready to chill in the evenings, but the free wifi made it easy for me to watch shows and movies on my laptop. I feel I got my money's worth, much nicer and more private than a hotel, great bathrooms and more fun to live like a native, I enjoyed sleeping in, taking my time and doing things at my leisure. I'll go back to Roma and if they'll have me, rent the flat again!
Dear Sophie & Future Guests,
There are many bonuses to staying in your apartment.
To start off, you are such warm & welcoming hosts along with Vinicius who met with us and showed us the unit. Vinicius took the time to sit down with us and a map to go over the things we should see and do.
We appreciate the welcome gifts...it really made us feel welcomed not only to your home but community.
The location is the key and this place has it. We can walk to the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon & Colosseum. There are many great restaurants and shops within a few blocks of the apartment. Grocery store on the corner and a main bus line within a block are great features.
Some suggested local restautants, Jamma Ja', take a stroll along the River at night & go accross on the Ponte Sisto...there are some great pubs and bars.
Some sights to see are Castle San Angelo, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and of course the Vatican and the Colosseum.
We spent our last night out at Osteria 140 which is the restaurant located directly behind the apartment and it was fabulous.
Definitely, we will be coming back and recommend to all! Great host, great place!!!
Thanks for everything, Sabrina, Jamie & Steve
Had an amazing time in Rome, made even better by the wonderful appartment.
Great location - a short walk from all the main tourist sites, stunning appartment, with everything available.
Sophie (and Vinicius) were responsive and brilliant hosts. Sophie organised a car to pick us up and Vinicius told us all the best places, and best tips for what to do in Rome.
They let us drop our bags early and leave a little later due to our flight times. It meant we didnt have to take bags around the city which was very handy and greatly appreciated.
All in all a fab trip and a fab place to stay!
Sophie's apartment is as EXACTLY as described and how we imagined. We enjoyed our stay very much. She was very responsive to our questions and emails, provided wonderful restaurant recommendations and even "went the extra mile" by letting us drop off our luggage and pick up the key an hour earlier then check-in time.
If you want to be centrally located in Rome, within walking distance (or a bus ride) to almost everything - her apartment is perfect.
The "dampness" of her basement apartment did not bother us one bit due to the extra fans and dehumidifier she provided. Plus, the temperature was cool at night.
One extra note - Sophie is extremely thoughtful and kind. We were welcomed with cookies, maps and business cards of local restaurants (in addition to her own suggestions). I left a personal item and she found it and is in the process of mailing it back to me. Seems like a small matter but her warmth and attentiveness went a long way with me and my husband. We recommend.
Unfortunately, Sophie wasn't able to meet me and my girlfriend at the apartment. So instead, we met her boyfriend David.
David was very nice, and greeted us warmly into the apartment and also gave us great restaurant advices.
The apartment is very clean and cosy and is more then enough for a couple. When we arrived to the apartment, the kitchen was fully stocked, and there were fresh towels in the bathrooms.
The only downside is that the apartment has no windows facing the street, but only inner patios. So sometimes it's hard to air it.
Generally, our stay at the apartment was very pleasant and we had a great time.
Thank you Sophie and David!
My wife and I stayed here for 3 or 4 nights and it was great. The apartment was too big for just 2 people. The location is amazing, we were able to walk to all the major sites easily. The apartment was really easy to find using transit from the airport. We would stay here again and would definitely recommend it!
We had a great time in Rome thanks to the beautiful appartment of Sophie and the brilliant location in the middle of everything!
We had a lovely 4 day trip to Roma staying at Sophie's flat. She was a very responsive host and the location was very central without feeling too close to the bustle of touristy areas. The bedroom and bathroom on the lower level were very musty and humid and the A/C could not be turned on. The dehumidifier was running full-time in the bedroom which in combination with the 2 other fans around made it live-able, but still not the most pleasant. The place was beautiful and modern as pictured I just wish there had been some more air-movement.
This apartment is located in a very central location to all the main attractions of Rome. This was our first time using the airbnb community and we couldn't be more happy with our stay. The apartment is a trendy, recently renovated basement apartment with all the amenities you could ask for. Our hosts Davide and Sophie, could not be faulted. They made sure we were settled comfortably and gave us excellent tips on local restaurants and how to get around the area. They could not have been more helpful. Highly recommend a stay in this apartment.
