Interaction with Guests
As much as they would like
It is in the heart of the Garden District
The public (RTA) buss stop is directly in front of the house on Magazine St. the street car is a beautiful 4 block walk away. A cab ride to either the Quarters or further Uptown will be no more than $12 before tip. There is no need for a vehicle when you rent any of my locations including this one.
Other Things to Note
My neighbors cat Fergal has become a fixture here. However, I would prefer that he does not come inside of the apartment. Some of my guests are allergic to cat dander. This is a studio in a very Old Sugar Cane Plantation that was built somewhere in the late 1800's. It has all of the original features and blemishes. However, this is a very comfortable studio, if you are looking for ultra clean & modern amenities this probably will not suit your needs.
Please no smoking or pets inside.(Pets considered on a case by case situations) It would be appreciated if shoes come off at the door. The Wine refrigerator is off limits. Since I am not charging an additional cleaning fee on most dates please leave the house in the condition you received it
I do provide an iron & a hair dryer.
Check in is at 3pm
Check out is at 10am
Gretta was so easy to work with and very responsive when I had questions or concerns. Her place is in a quaint area of New Orleans and it's just a short walk to wonderful places to eat and drink. While it is a bit smaller, it is the perfect amount of space for 2! I would absolutely stay there again!
Gretta's home was absolutely adorable! Check in was very easy and the directions were very easy to follow when finding the home. The listing was as pictured and couldn't have been more perfect for my stay in the crescent city.
My boyfriend and I took cabs/ubers from the home to the quarter. It's an easy 8-10 minute drive depending on traffic. We stayed during 4th of July so there was more traffic than a normal weekend.
Bed was VERY comfortable and the shower was HOT. Both of which are very important to me. :) I loved the historic feel to her home and loved that I felt like a local. The neighborhood is quite lovely and there are many stores and restaurants to explore. Everything was in walking distance.
There was a cat that I believe is the neighbors that I called Elliott and he is very very friendly and likes attention. My favorite part of the trip was relaxing on the patio on our last evening.
Once again, we loved staying at Gretta's Garden District Gem! The apartment is clean, in a great location, and very comfortable. Thank you, Gretta, for another lovely night!
The studio was exactly as described. Clean, cozy, excellent location and easy to find. We were within walking distance to Coquette, Parasol and The Saint and enjoyed the room and neighborhood immensely. My partner in crime described the bedroom as a "napper's paradise" making it perfect for going out to happy hour and then taking a rest before dinner. Traffic noise is nonexistent because the room is situated on the farthest corner of the building (ground floor for easy load in/load out, too!).
The apartment is a little more worse for wear than the pictures suggests, and though Gretta alludes to this in the description ("blemishes"?) we were disappointed with the condition on arrival. We also had a few cockroach encounters - one just outside on the porch (which didn't bother us so much....) and another later on inside the apartment just before going asleep (door was kept shut all day), if it had been earlier in the day we would have reconsidered our stay. Couldn't fit our car past the neighbours car to park in the very small yard but street parking was free and fine. Bed was comfortable and clean. Over one hour walk to French Quarter where most tourists will go and street car trolley wasn't operating fully out to accommodation during our stay though a shuttle bus alternative seemed to be on offer. We checked in and out on time we found the house rules for late check outs a little off putting ($25 for checkouts after 10am). After staying in many Airbnbs of varying standard we didn't find this place good value for money or overly enjoyable.
Great communication and very helpful. Willing to work with my changes in dates.
Gretta's apartment is lovely. It's in a perfect part of town with easy bus or taxi access to places further away. The bed is comfortable and the outside porch is great for relaxing on a hot New Orleans night! We would definitely stay again.
