Studio Appartment, completely furnished. Located just 7 minutes and 2.65 miles from the French Quarter and 4 blocks to St. Charles the heart of the parade routes. My studio apartment is located in the famous Historic Garden District on Magazine Street where locals go for antique shopping, restaurants and nightlife. A perfect location for those who want to catch some beads and explore the city. This fully furnished apartment features a private entrance, private balcony, free high speed Wi-Fi, on site coin-operated washer-dryer, complete kitchen, bath, queen size bed and off street parking.
My location is perfect year round, but is absolutely ideal if you are looking to come during the Essence Festival July 4th thru July 7th 2013.
Jazz Festival begining April 25th thru April 27th second weekend is May 1st thru May 4th 2014 and/or Mardi Gras.
Mardi Gras parades start February 21st and last until Mardi Gras day March 04, 2014. I am four blocks from all the festivities on the Uptown Parade Route and a quick street car ride downtown to the Superdome and French Quarter.
This location will also be perfect for the 2014 NBA All-Star Game weekend starting February 13 thru February 16th (game day)
Grocery stores, Rite Aid/Walgreens, liquor stores, shopping, restaurants and bars are all within walking distance and are all less than 4 blocks away. The street car line is four blocks away and is the city's form of public transportation. It gives visitors direct access to downtown, the french quarter, uptown, garden district, Audubon Park and the university area. The neighborhood is safe and friendly and it is very easy to hail a cab from our place.
Guests are welcome to enjoy New Orleans' good weather and sit out on our porch. There are numerous great restaurants in walking distance of our place. We look forward to meeting anyone wanting to explore our wonderful city.

The entire home
As much as they would like
The apartment was lovely! Beautiful design choices, very comfy bed. Not perfect condition - you felt like you were staying with a friend, which is what we wanted, so no complaints here. Location was wonderful! Quiet and beautiful in the Garden District, walking distance to great shops and restaurants, and the bus pickup was a few doors down! Gretta was super accommodating to our schedule and allowed early check-in/late departure.
The location is great and Gretta was very attentive and prompt. I enjoyed my stay :)
Gretta has a gracious home that is lovely inside. She worked hard to make sure a last minute change in schedule was accommodated. I highly recommend the home -- the exterior of the home is being renovated, but the interior is done and true to photos on the Airbnb site. Wonderful location and fair price.
This listing was very poor. We did not stay and have requested a refund.
The bed is not the one in the picture.
The matress and springs were not large enough for the frame and it fell to the floor 3 times.
The toilet seat was broken loose and just sitting there.
The chair in the left of the picture had large, dark stains.
The air conditioner made a continuos loud ticking noise.
The parking area was muddy and full of glass.
In general, the place was a mess.
PLUS it is only a room with outdoor access, not a separate like advertised.
I would not suggest this host.
We loved staying in Gretta's quirky house. It's in a great location in the Garden District, close to lots of shops and restaurants and only a short trolley ride to the French Quarter. Thanks!
Perfect place to stay for a night, quaint place in a nice neighborhood. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting New Orleans. Thanks Gretta!
Great place perfect for 2. Perfect location.
Wonderful experience (my first with airbnb)! Gretta was great with check in and check out. The place could not be located better. I brought a bicycle with me on this trip and was able to ride to the French Quarter and Audubon Park safely. Nothing like a bike in the French Quarter to avoid all the parking hassles.
The place was clean and full of New Orleans culture. Oh ... there was a place for me to park my car off the street (a big bonus). Thanks Gretta ... I'll be back next time I'm in the area.
This was a quick stop for me. I love Magazine Street so the location was perfect. It's right in the middle of Magazine. 20 minutes walk to Balcony Bar, Juan's Flying Burrito, local grocery, Rum House and so much more! It's a straight shot downtown and taxis are all over. Private parking is available and street parking is plentiful. Perfect for one person. Be sure to book this one in advanced, as it's popular.
Gretta was wonderful! She was very quick in communicating throughout the entire process. Whenever I had any questions, she would respond within minutes. The location was amazing (with lots of tourists in the area), and we were minutes away from all the attractions we wanted to visit during our stay. The studio apartment was exactly as pictured. The air conditioning kept us cool and the wifi was fast. I would definitely stay here again during my next visit to NOLA!
