This place is fantastic and a real bargain, it was one of our favourite places we stayed in America and also the cheapest!
Todd and Annette were really friendly and helpful and came for a chat the evening we arrived. Everything in the casita worked perfectly and it was a really comfortable place to stay. The pool was great, our 10 year old son particularly liked the springboard for diving, though the night time drop in dessert night temperatures meant it was alarmingly cold in the morning! As Tucson is so warm and sunny a cold pool was a really good thing.
We had an absolutely fabulous stay at Annette and Todd's casita. It is in a beautiful and quiet desert setting. Karla enjoyed her coffee outdoors each morning while listening to birds, and spotted a woodpecker and a cottontail rabbit nearby as well. There was a Saturday farmer's market down the road, and we enjoyed a delicious salad made from produce we picked up there. The casita is well equipped, and Annette kindly sent over salt and pepper when we got ready to make our dinner and discovered at the last minute we forgot to bring any. Saguaro National Park (East side) and Colossal Cave are not far at all. We were delighted to meet and chat with Annette and Todd one afternoon when they were working around the pool area. They are warm and accommodating hosts, and we look forward to staying with them again on future visits to Tucson.
We had a great time. The place was exactly as we thought. The pool was clean and beautiful. The area was quiet, fun and close to he hiking we wanted. It was perfect for a
Spring break vacation.
We had a wonderful stay! Todd & Annette were very accommodating and friendly. The casita is perfect for two, and the setting couldn't be better. There were refreshments and munchies when we arrived, and we felt very much at home during the stay. We recommend their casita to all looking to visit Tucson. We plan on staying again in the future...Jeff & Autumn
The casita is everything you would expect from the description and more. Quiet, clean and comfortable best describe the experience. The casita is close enough to all the great experiences of Tucson but far enough away to fill your stay with the desert tranquility.
Annette met us when we arrived with a warm welcome. There was fresh fruit and juice waiting for us. She explained what we needed to know and told us to let her know if there was ever anything else we needed, to let her know immediately. She and Todd went out of their ways to make sure everything was perfect. And it WAS!!! With lots of bike trails and no bikes of our own, they offered us their bikes!! The privacy was outstanding! The room was perfect! The surroundings were beautiful. I can't think of a more perfect stay!! We will certainly look at staying at this private casita in the future!
Todd was by the casita/pool when we arrived. He welcomed us, introduced himself and made us feel at home immediately. He went over the stuff that was important and walked us around the casita which had all the little extras ...coffee, raspberry Danish etc. we chatted about where he he and Annette had come from and where we had come from. We got an immediate sense that this was the right fit for us. The listing couldn't have been more accurate. We especially loved siting round the pool. The casita was just right with bed, bathroom, kitchenette, TV, table and chairs in front of a beautiful desert area. The neighborhood was great. You know how busy Tucson is but then you pull into their driveway and pull up to the casita in back with all the palm trees, cactus, and all of the little bushes and flowers. It was gorgeous!!! Every day we went on a walk with ou dog, Charley. the was a nice path across the road that went down to Houghton and the other way to the entrance of Saguaro East. We visited Saguaro Corners which is a little grill with an outside patio and Gary's BBQ which is a little further down Old Spanish Trail. A neat BBQ place in an Adobe building. It's a neat area where there aren't row after row of buildings and townhouses and businesses. That is why we loved staying at the casita. I almost forgot we were going to use the grill but we never got around to it.
