About this listing
What's the best of my apartment? It is very quiet, it looks on the back of the lively Vicolo del Cinque. It's very central, you can walk to the main places of interest in Rome. It's very pleasant having a glass of wine on the little roof terrace.
Colette's home is an appartement on two floors placed between Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere and Piazza Trilussa in one of the most central and characteristic area of Rome.
The flat is on the second floor of an historic building, there is not lift. It has just been renovate, and even though it's situated among the night life of Tratevere is very quiet.

The flat is on two floors, it is composed of a living room with a sofa bed and a kitchenette. On the second floor there's the double bedroom and the bathroom with tub and shower. It's not possible to close the bedroom with a door.
The appartement, full of light, has a very pleasant view on the roofs of Tratevere from the terrace on the second floor.

Ms. Colette and her husband were very helpful to help us with our luggage and informing about the place and the surroundings (she provided us with a customized map with some restaurant suggestions). She had a fresh and delicious fruit bowl waiting on the table for us and we enjoyed it very much. The place was also super clean and had a strong air conditioner, effective in the July heat wave.
The apartment is well-situated near all cafes and restaurants and is a 1 minute walk to the riverside which is so beautiful with shady trees on the sidewalk for miles of walking and seeing the architecture all around. The street looks a little quiet during the day, but restaurants pop up at night and every alley is lively. The apartment is quiet though. We weren't bothered by any of the noise when we slept.
As we arrived early, we were very grateful for Colette to let us in and store our luggage whilst she completed the cleaning of the apartment. We received a lovely warm welcome from Colette and her husband complete with fruit bowl. The apartment was clean and suitable for 3 people and as pictured. Air conditioning was a blessing with the Rome heat. The area is lively with too many decisions to be made which restaurant to choose, but the apartment was quiet and private. As this was our first Airbnb stay it was a positive experience and would recommend.
Colette and her husband were the perfect hosts. So kind and helpful. Our luggage was delayed and they went out of their way to help my husband and I. The apartment is perfect. Clean and homey. Nice shower and rooftop terrace. I would definitely recommend their place for anyone who is looking for a place in Rome to stay!
Our first visit to Rome was made immensely more rewarding and easy with the help of Colette and her husband. Initially Trastevere was quite confusing, but once we got our bearings, we realized how easy it was to get around. Colette was waiting for us at the residence, Colette and her husband, after we explained what sites we planned to see, gave us even more recommendations of sites that are not in any of Rick Steve's guide books. We loved Colette's place, and had hoped to book again on our return to Rome for our final two days before returning home, but it seems Colette is extremely popular. Book ahead is our lesson.
Colette's home was really easy to find and is right in the center of the vibrant Trastavere neighborhood. The home was spacious, bright, clean, and well furnished. There is also a nice roof patio. Colette left useful info on the area as well as a bowl of fresh fruit and cookies! I cannot recommend this apartment enough. If you are looking to stay in Rome look no further!
Collete's home was amazing. It's in a great location in Trastevere, close to many restaurants, bars, and cafes. It's central location in Rome is perfect for visitors who want to see all the sites and be within a 30 min walk, to avoid taxi fares.
The apartment itself is well sized and has everything you would need, including a full kitchen. It was clean and tidy. The patio on the top floor was very nice after a long day of site seeing as well. Would definitely stay again.
Three in our party. Me, my wife and our 22 year old son.
Colette and her husband gave us a great welcome and were extremely friendly and informative, they provided detailed explanations of the flat and the necessities we needed to know. They were also very quick to reply to any queries and questions we sent them during our stay.
We were blown away by the welcome gifts of fruit (cherries, peaches, apricots) , biscuits, brioche, butter and preserves. Totally unexpected, delightful and much appreciated surprise!
We had an abundance of towels, bath size and smaller, and no shortage of hot water for showers and washing. The bedding was lovely. Good quality and well laundered. The beds are really comfortable and we all slept well; although close to restaurants the apartment is very quiet. The air conditioning functioned perfectly keeping us cool during the hot nights.
The balcony was a huge bonus. Morning coffee in the sun (although a sunshade is there if needed) and somewhere to sit in peace and quiet with a drink in the evening.
Location was fantastic. Trastevere is a great location to stay in Rome. Lots of picturesque, small streets to wonder around and cafes, bars and restaurants to eat and drink in. Somewhere to sit, relax and watch the world go by.
We didn’t need to use the buses or trams during our stay in Rome. From Colette’s house it is a 30 minute stroll in one direction to the Colosseum and the same in the other direction to the Vatican. You see so much more whilst walking! What a great location.
On our last day, we had to leave very early to get to the airport and Colette arranged a taxi for us which was waiting outside the front door and cheaper than getting one from a taxi rank.
Colette and her apartment really made our stay in Rome a memorable one. We have stayed in a number of Airbnb apartments in other cities and this is one of the best. Highly recommended.
Thank you Colette.
