About this listing
The house is very quiet because it's deep inside the alley, clean, fully equipped, there are always other people stay. You will see it without brand name, not to make you feel that we do business, we are your home.

- Private bathroom with hot shower.
- Wooden modern desk, wardrobe & bed
- Warm & cool air-conditioner
- Wooden floor
- Small window & balcony
We could chat with each other or you could ask people there if you have any problems.
Neighbors are only female retired so they a little bit confused about us. Just keep quiet, don't come back home too late and always lock the door
Bus is 50m around the house.
No rules :-) Just act like we are polite friends and don't be too noisy.
Besides you could read more in the house manuals
I just put this text in order to fullfill 50 words requirements of the house rules, you don't have to read this :-D
I was in Hanoi for work purposes and stayed the whole time (2 weeks) in Mike's place. Unfortunately I haven't had much time to join him and the other guys living there for many events since it was a pretty stressful time. Nevertheless, I had a great time there, got to know amazing people. Mike and his crew are all very kind and helpful and unbelievably generous. I loved being in exchange with locals as much as with foreigners there. The room was okay, although I would recommend one of the rooms of the upper floors if u wanna stay for longer and especially if u have to pass much time in the room (for example working), because it was a little dark, hard to ventilate and louder than the others since it was near the kitchen and entrance room.
Mikes anyhow, is definitely a place u can and want always come back to, so did I after travelling for one week around north Vietnam. Arranging a place to sleep there for my last night even on short notice was uncomplicated and I was happy to celebrate it with the guys there. Thx!
A very convenient location for this place in Hanoi, to a walking distance from old town and other green parks. Also ideally close to the main train station for those wishing to use this mode of transports. The team is very nice and could accommodate all your needs if you have, but will also leave you quite if this is your way to travel! The team is also very involved in couch surfing and this will provide you, if you want, with a direct access to the Vietnamese people to share experiences. Overall : a very nice oasis offered to you in the turbulent Hanoi.
Right in center of Old Ha Noi in a quiet and dark alley we were 5 women staying at Mikes Homestay and had a fantastic friendly welcome. An autentic vietnamese style living in the poorer part of Ha Noi devoid of any tourist trappings. Everybody in the family were dedicated in making our stay pleasant - we were even invited to join them for dinner! Lovely Lavender took good care of us and Charlie arranged for all our needs. Very close to the central station and a noisy, poluted street
Great place, great people.
My only regret is to have not been able to get to know Mike and his family more. Despite my short stay, the house and the room are great, quiet and yet close to the center (15min walk).
If you are visiting Hanoi, this is definitely the place you should check in.
When I arrive I could not find the house so they came to get me right where I was. As simple as that.
Such nice people. Thanks :)
I did not stay there because I had to cancel my trip but Mike was super helpful and even offered to refund me the money. I will definitely stay there next time I travel to Hanoi.
Hervorragend. Ich war den ganzen Juli da und kann nur positives Berichten: grosse Zimmer, grosses Bett, sauber (wird auch regelmässig geputzt), schnelles Internet, freundliche Leute. Jederzeit wieder.
Mike's Homestay turned out to be a great choice for me in Hanoi. It's located down a little alley with an art school at one end and lots of artists living there - very cute. It's also VERY near the train station, around 100m, so ideal if you're arriving by rail. The room wasn't quite as big or clean as it looked in the pictures, but the water was hot and the A/C was cool which was all I really wanted. Mike and Charlie are great - so laid-back they're practically horizontal. They let me check in at 5am and check out at 7pm with no extra charge and no hassle which was a first. They're also knowledgeable about the city and give good advice. For the price this is a really good accommodation option.
