Two bedroom period red brick terraced house on a quiet, tree-lined street in the heart of the city centre. There are two double bedrooms, one shower room, kitchen and living/dining room. The house was fully refurbished and insulated. Roof terrace.
This listing is for a redbrick terraced city centre house.
This is the same location as our other listing - Perfect Location in Dublin City Centre - but is for the whole house. There are more photographs on that listing.
Charming little house in Dublin City Centre. This is my main home, renovated in 2011. It is a redbrick terraced house in the Christchurch area with every convenience in the locality. The house was built by The Dublin Artisan Trading Company in the early 1900's.
One of my other listings - Best location in Dublin City Centre - has photographs of the house.
There are two double bedrooms, a separate kitchen, shower room and large living/dining area. There is also a decked roof terrace on the first floor.
The house is fully insulated, there is underfloor heating downstairs. There is a large working cast iron fireplace in the living room. The decor is contemporary and bright, with some period touches.
All of Dublin is at your feet when staying here. The street is really quiet, yet you are minutes from Dame Street. There are numerous lovely cafes (including Cafe Noto, The Fumbally and Queen of Tarts) nearby, as well as pubs (Porterhouse Parliament Street, Fallons, The Bull and Castle) and restaurants, theatres and cultural attractions.
You are welcome to help yourself to books, magazines, and of course our well-stocked bar!
The kitchen has oven, grill/microwave, hob, dishwasher, washer-dryer, fridge-freezer, Gaggia coffee machine etc.
There are numerous buses that pass nearby. Heuston Station is 10/15 minutes walk away (services Galway, Cork etc.)
Kitchen: granite countertop. Gaggia Baby coffee machine with froth function. Dishwasher. Washer/Dryer. Neff oven 1. Neff oven 2, with microwave and grill function. Glass induction hob. Neff fridge-freezer. Full stock of utensils and cooking equipment.
Living/Diningroom: Round table extends to seat 6/8. Real fireplace, logs and briquettes provided. Large couch. SMART Television with built in wifi, browser and Netflix. Livingroom storage holds glassware and alcohol! Books and travel/interior magazines above.
Showerroom: Small but perfectly formed! Help yourself to toiletries. Hairdryer in guest bedroom.
Master bedroom: Original fireplace (not in use for safety reasons!) Lots of storage in sliding wardrobes.
Guest bedroom: Access to roof terrace/deck.
Two double bedrooms
One shower room
Interaction with Guests
Interaction varies - I try to be available to guests in person where possible, and certainly am available to contact through phone or online where necessary.
I am a great believer that if there is something amiss it can usually be swiftly dealt with if the guest contacts.
I am also available to provide any local information - if I receive a text or message about an event, sport, restaurant, pub etc I will either know or generally be able to find out ..
It is right in the heart of the city centre and yet on a very quiet tree lined street. I like the traditional redbrick fronts of the houses and the fact that you can be in Temple Bar, Grafton Street or St Stephens Green in less than ten (website hidden) Patrick's Cathedral and Christchurch and Christchurch Cathedral are minutes away. There is a great selection of traditional pubs and fashionable cafes.
Everything Dublin city centre has to offer is within walking distance.
Yes, but not necessary for the city centre.
There are cross city buses nearby, the Luas (tram) stops just over the river and Heuston Station (trains to the West and South of Ireland) is 15 minutes on foot.
Other Things to Note
The house is very cosy and warm in winter.
Towels and sheets are 100% cotton and excellent quality.
The kitchen is fully stocked with equipment and appliances.
There is a house manual provided with keys on check in.
The Wifi begins with 617.., the password is FHNCKCRG.
The television is SMART.
No smoking indoors please.
Please feel free to borrow novels, magazines etc.
Please be careful with the fireplace, it is cast iron so corrodes with water contact.
We had a great stay at Daragh's charming place. He was kind enough to greet us late for the check-in and was extremely helpful in providing us with useful tips around the city. The flat was walking distance from all major tourist destinations and it felt more of small house than an apartment. I would highly recommend it!
Excellent experience at Daragh's place. The host welcome us and showed un on a Dublin map all attractions suitable for us. As I usually sleep with a super thin pillow, he purchased a set of 2 thin pillows just to make sure I could sleep comfortably. This was a very kind gesture. There was a little issue with the wifi router promptly solved with a new one! The apartment looks a little bit bigger in the pictures but once you are inside it's very cosy and everything is at hand reach. It is in fact conveniently located next to Temple Bar (5 min walks away) and the best fish and chip in Dublin is conveniently located 3 min away! I strongly recommend booking this location, 100% satisfaction both host and flat!
The host was extremely welcome and made us feel right at home. He spent the time to show us around and provide guidance on main tourist attractions. We were very pleased with the central location as well as the host's welcome!! The place definitely met our needs and we would stay there again.
Daragh is an extremely accommodating host! Our flight was changed and we had to check in very early, but he arranged someone to meet us in the flat.
The flat was very centrally located to all of the attactions in Dublin. We walked everywhere! There was plenty of space for the four of us and the roof terrace is great.
The four of us stayed at Daragh's place for 3 nights in August 2014. We loved how close it was to everything in Central Dublin (an easy 15-20-minute walk almost anywhere, with Christ Church and St. Patrick's much closer). The apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The little deck was especially nice. The whole experience was a lot like staying at your friend's place while the friend is out of town. Daragh was extremely accommodating with the early check-in and full of useful and interesting information about the area. Would stay again. Thanks, Daragh!

Hello. I am a mid thirties professional living in Dublin city centre, I have lived abroad and love to travel. My interests include cooking, cinema, reading and spending time with friends. I love having people over for dinner and meeting new people. I also love eating out.
Of the places I have visited for pleasure, I especially loved Brazil, Laos and Japan. I love all of Italy and New York City. I love reading anything set in India. My monthly book club is something I really look forward to.
I have really enjoyed meeting new people through Airbnb. I am pretty passionate about Dublin, and like to share all the places that I think are special with visitors. Dubliners can be the most friendly people in the world!
