The space

This listing is for a redbrick terraced city centre house.

This is the same location as our other listing - Perfect Location in Dublin City Centre - but is for the whole house. There are more photographs on that listing.

Charming little house in Dublin City Centre. This is my main home, renovated in 2011. It is a redbrick terraced house in the Christchurch area with every convenience in the locality. The house was built by The Dublin Artisan Trading Company in the early 1900's.

One of my other listings - Best location in Dublin City Centre - has photographs of the house.

There are two double bedrooms, a separate kitchen, shower room and large living/dining area. There is also a decked roof terrace on the first floor.

The house is fully insulated, there is underfloor heating downstairs. There is a large working cast iron fireplace in the living room. The decor is contemporary and bright, with some period touches.

All of Dublin is at your feet when staying here. The street is really quiet, yet you are minutes from Dame Street. There are numerous lovely cafes (including Cafe Noto, The Fumbally and Queen of Tarts) nearby, as well as pubs (Porterhouse Parliament Street, Fallons, The Bull and Castle) and restaurants, theatres and cultural attractions.

You are welcome to help yourself to books, magazines, and of course our well-stocked bar!

The kitchen has oven, grill/microwave, hob, dishwasher, washer-dryer, fridge-freezer, Gaggia coffee machine etc.

There are numerous buses that pass nearby. Heuston Station is 10/15 minutes walk away (services Galway, Cork etc.)

Kitchen: granite countertop. Gaggia Baby coffee machine with froth function. Dishwasher. Washer/Dryer. Neff oven 1. Neff oven 2, with microwave and grill function. Glass induction hob. Neff fridge-freezer. Full stock of utensils and cooking equipment.

As this is my home, there are personal items such as clothing in the wardrobe. Plenty of storage is clear for guests to use. Unlike my other listing, this listing is also fully stocked with spices, oils, condiments etc.

Living/Diningroom: Round table extends to seat 6/8. Real fireplace, logs and briquettes provided. Large couch. SMART Television with built in wifi, browser and Netflix. Livingroom storage holds glassware and alcohol! Books and travel/interior magazines above.

Showerroom: Small but perfectly formed! Help yourself to toiletries. Hairdryer in guest bedroom.

Master bedroom: Original fireplace (not in use for safety reasons!) Lots of storage in sliding wardrobes.

Guest bedroom: Access to roof terrace/deck.

Guest access

The house!
Two double bedrooms
One shower room
Living/dining room
Roof terrace

This is my home that I rent periodically. It is thus fully stocked with herbs, condiments, liquor etc (help yourself within reason!) but has a different feel to my other listing which is permanently rented. There are clothes and linens in the wardrobes, half the bathroom cupboard has toiletries, and there are lots of books and magazines.

Interaction with guests

Interaction varies - I try to be available to guests in person where possible, and certainly am available to contact through phone or online where necessary.

I am a great believer that if there is something amiss it can usually be swiftly dealt with if the guest contacts.

I am also available to provide any local information - if I receive a text or message about an event, sport, restaurant, pub etc I will either know or generally be able to find out ..

The neighborhood

It is right in the heart of the city centre and yet on a very quiet tree lined street. I like the traditional redbrick fronts of the houses and the fact that you can be in Temple Bar, Grafton Street or St Stephens Green in less than ten minutes. St Patrick's Cathedral and Christchurch and Christchurch Cathedral are minutes away. There is a great selection of traditional pubs and fashionable cafes.

Everything Dublin city centre has to offer is within walking distance.

Getting around

Dublin City Centre is eminently walkable.

There are cross city buses nearby, the Luas (tram) stops just over the river and Heuston Station (trains to the West and South of Ireland) is 15 minutes on foot.

Other things to note

The house is very cosy and warm in winter.
Towels and sheets are 100% cotton and excellent quality.
The kitchen is fully stocked with equipment and appliances.
There is a house manual provided with keys on check in.
The television is SMART.

House Rules
No smoking
Not suitable for pets
No parties or events
Check in is anytime after 3PM

No smoking indoors please.
Please feel free to borrow novels, magazines etc.
Please be careful with the fireplace, it is cast iron so corrodes with water contact.
If you use appliances, please do so with care. The manuals are in the magazine box to the right of the television.
Rubbish may be left in the small downstairs yard - let me know and I can have it collected if you see on an extended stay.

This is my home so there are personal items including clothing (in part of the wardrobes), toiletries (half the bathroom cabinet), books and magazines (in the living room). There is plenty of space for your belongings. The refrigerator will be cleaned but there are condiments there - which of course you may use.

Please do not make loud noise or cause other disturbance that may bother the neighbours.

I need the names of each guest who will be sleeping in the house - there are two double bedrooms for a maximum of four people.

Please contact me immediately if you have any problems or are unhappy in any way with my home - most situations are very easily sorted with clear communication.

The house will be cleaned by the cleaner before your arrival, including all surfaces, refrigerator, bathroom, changing beds etc.

Most importantly, enjoy my home and enjoy Dublin!

Fantastic place. Great size rooms, with a rooftop balcony that is the perfect spot to have a coffee in the morning or some fizz later on!! We were a group of four girls and there was plenty of space for us all. Location is in walking distance of all the sights and countless bars and restaurants. Daragh could not be a more accommodating host offering top notch recommendations for what to do/eat/drink during our weekend in Dublin.

We’ve had a great time at Daragh’s lovely little brickstone house! Perfectly located in a really quiet street in a historic quarter in the city centre. Everything in walking distance (free parking directly in front of the entrance door). You shouldn’t expect a loft-like layout of the rooms (the bathroom is tiny) but if you fancy historic houses full of character, tastefully furnished in modern style you couldn’t find a better place. The house even has a nice little roof terrace. Daragh is easygoing and was very helpful with tips for sightseeing, eating etc. There’s a lot to discover in Dublin. Upshot: five stars. We can fully recommend.

Daragh's place was in a great location, very quiet residential street but so close to the centre It was tidy, clean, pretty small but still usable for 4 adults. Daragh was a great host, showing us all the best places to go on arrival and he even bought us a bottle of wine - how nice! Lots of communication before our stay. Can't complain much really about the stay. Would recommend!

We had a fantastic time at Daragh's house! Edgar gave us amazing recommendations for food and nightlife, and the house itself was wonderfully decorated and had a great location, within easy walking distance to all the main sights while still located in a quiet residential neighborhood that made us feel like locals.

Hello. I am a mid thirties professional living in Dublin city centre, I have lived abroad and love to travel. My interests include cooking, cinema, reading and spending time with friends. I love having people over for dinner and meeting new people. I also love eating out.

Of the places I have visited for pleasure, I especially loved Bali, Brazil, Bolivia, Laos and Japan. I really enjoy meeting people when I travel she getting local recommendations. I love all of Italy and New York City. I love reading anything set in India. My monthly book club is something I really look forward to.

I have really enjoyed meeting new people through Airbnb. I am pretty passionate about Dublin, and like to share all the places that I think are special with visitors. Dubliners can be the most friendly people in the world!
