At 15 km from Amsterdam, in the polder countryside and
an 8 minutes walk from the Zaanse Schans, lies our house with its charming, fully self-supporting guesthouse for 1-6 persons. A terrace and a big garden are all around the house, with a trampoline, a slide, ping pong table and enough space to play football. The guesthouse is next to our house, on the other side of the small bridge, which gives you all the privacy you need, while having us always nearby if you need help with anything.
Ideal for families with kids, 2 couples, 6 friends, but also often used as a writers' and artists' retreat.
The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 of which are connected, so depending on your relationship, the house can welcome up to 4-6 persons. The atmosphere is warm, relaxed and relatively basic. We have central heating, free WIFI, mp3 plugin, cable television and a home cinema system with loads of dvds, for the long winter evenings.
1 Fully equipped kitchen with cooker, refrigerator, freezer, microwave/grill/oven and a coffee-grinding espressomachine.
1 L shaped living room with working space, dinner table with 6 chairs. Windows are all around and french doors lead to the terrace and garden.
1 double room, with double bed
2 connected bedrooms, split level, with
1 double bed (that can be split in 2 singles)
1 kingsize bed in the upper level
1 bathroom with shower and toilet
Our house is at a 8 minutes walk away from world's famous open air museum Zaanse Schans, with its historic houses and windmills to visit. Here you will feel and relive the history of the Netherlands.
We live in a beautiful biking area, and we have therefore enough bicycles for you in every size.
The house is of course also a perfect operating base for visiting and going out in Amsterdam.
There is a direct train every 15 minutes from Koog-Zaandijk to Amsterdam Central Station (17 minutes ride).
To the trainstation it is a beautiful 20 minute walk or 10 minutes cycling through the Zaanse Schans, or 7 minutes by car (free parking).
Beaches are at a 20 minutes drive away.
Edam and Alkmaar (famous cheesemarkets), Monnickendam, Volendam, Marken and Haarlem at 25 minutes.
There is a direct train from Schiphol Airport to Zaandam-Kogerveld station (22 minutes trainride)
The rate is for 2 persons and includes:
* use of bikes
* breakfast the first morning after arrival
Our family will welcome you with great pleasure. Please contact us if you're interested.
Every extra person above 2 persons is € 20,- per night.
Children under the age of 3 are free and extra baby-beds, high chairs etc. are also available and free.
We have a dog Linus that never comes inside the guesthouse, and that we can keep on our side of the bridge if you prefer.
A car is convenient, but if you come without, we can pick you up from the trainstation Koog-Zaandijk (train from Amsterdam) or Zaandam-Kogerveld (train from Schiphol-airport) which are both only a 7 minute ride from home.
Please no smoking inside the house, there's plenty of space outside on the terrace.
Nous avons passé une semaine extrêmement agréable à Amsterdam en famille, notamment grâce à nos hôtes, particulièrement chaleureux, et grâce à la maison tout confort. Vivement recommandé !
We had a wonderful week in this wonderful house. Everything was clean and the interior is very tastefully arranged. Our three year old loved the trampoline as well as Linus the dog. Tine and her family gave us a warm welcome and were great hosts.
Best place to stay and butiful view around.Trully Charming place.
Tine was best host we ever met during our trip, in the conner of the house she has all the informations we need for our trip and she was so kindly answer all the questions we had.
My wife and my friends was saying this is the best place to stay.
This was a WONDERFUL choice, both in location and host! Tine did everything possible to make our stay warm, welcome, and informative. Information, maps, guidebooks waiting at the house. Everything was even better than expected.
And the location was perfect! Within site of the windmills of Zaans and only a 20 min train ride to downtown Amsterdam. If we return to the Netherlands we will book this place immediately! Thanks Tine for making this a special trip for myself and my daughters!
Its a great house with everything you need for a good time. Tine and her family are very sympathic and helpful - you feel more like a friend than a guest ;) - Tine made a great and extensive breakfast on our first morning, she was helpful planing our visits in Amstderdam and had a lot of hints for shopping, eating and sightseeing. Our kids enjoyed Linus (the dog) and Simpson (the cat) - they are as friendly as the rest of the family.
Tine handled the arriving and departure very flexible - thx for that!
We certainly will come again!
Both my husband and I are freelance actors on stage/film/tv. We moved from Amsterdam to here with our two boys (10,14) 8 years ago, when we fell in love with the house, with the area, which gives us the best of both worlds: the space of the countryside and the vicinity of Amsterdam.
We love traveling and meeting people from all over the world. We speak Dutch, English, German and (as I grew up in France) French fluently.
