A romantic conversion from an old wine cellar with a magnificent view over the River Orb in a historic village in the Languedoc Area of Southern France. Full modern cooking and toilet/showering facilities. 1 minute walk to river bathing, boulangerie, French cuisine restaurants/wine bars, wine tasting, canoeing centre, tennis courts, tourist office, mediterranean garden, 15th Century monuments and lots more. Small outside terrace to sip wine and watch the river and the world go by.
Many of the castles and cathedrals mentioned in The da Vinci Code can be visited within and 1/2 drive. The world heritage old City of Carcassonne is 1 hour drive away. There is a feast of Cathar monuments within easy driving distance. The old cities, Toulouse and Montpellier can be accessed on the motorway within 1.45mins. The Greek fishing village of Agde -40 mins and the Roman aqueduct in Nimes - 3 hours.
The area is famous for boutique vineyards and a minimum of 25 are within 10-30 minutes of the village. It is better known as the AOC ST Chinian district. Most vineyards facilitate transportation of wines to foreign countries.
The beaches of the Mediterranean are within 25-40 minutes drive.
The nearest train station is Beziers, and nearest airport is Beziers Cap d' Agde. There are local buses from the village 3/4 times a day.

The studio is equipped with Wifi. Access to a washing machine can be arranged for guests staying longer than 2 weeks.
There is also a small outdoor terrace overlooking the river that quests can use - just big enough for a pizza and glass of wine! But when double doors and windows are opened in the studio, there is an immediate outdoor feel.
Interaction with guests
The studio is entirely self contained - separate entrance door from Rue de La Chapelle and there is no need for any interaction unless a guest has a particular request to do so.
Immediate proximity of cafes, boulangerie, grocery store, restaurants, local tourist office, river, tennis, canoe center, hill walks, vineyards, weekly market, lakes to sail or ski on. A swim in the rock pools of the epic Gorges d'Heric is an absolute must.
The village is served with 3/4 buses a day from Beziers train station. That station is served by TGV from Paris, Toulouse, Montpellier, Marseille and soon - Barcelona. Cars can be hired locally at Super U at very reasonable rates. Having a car is advised but not essential. If you just want to laze, read books, go for walks there's no need for transport.
Other things to note
Linen, including bathroom towels and beach towels are provided. Enquire about portable BBQ and beach chairs. Cot or single childs bed also provided on request.
Guest are expected to treat the property with respect and not to be overly noisy. Guest are also requested to shower off sun cream before going to bed as creams stain the bed linen indelibly. There is an inventory on the back of the door of the studio. Guests are advised to read it carefully and to check to see that everything on the inventory is in the studio. Otherwise they may be charged for items found to be missing on their departure.
