A Great Authentic Experience A Vietnamese https://www.airbnb.com/manage-listing/921816/pricinghomestay with my family.
We live in a typical Vietnamese house, in a typical family neighborhood, on a typical pedestrian street.
Our newly built house has five floors. We rent two private rooms. Each room offers a comfortable queen size bed, a private bathroom, air-conditionning, fan, tv, wifi, large window and glass door to let in natural light (with good curtains if you wish to be in the dark!), and a small balcony overlooking streetlife. Each room can accomodate 2 persons.
You are welcome to use our kitchen or whatever facility our house offers. Many of our previous guests really enjoyed the 360 view offered from our roof top terrace at sunrise, sundown, or to see the city lights in the evening.
We live in district 8, just on the other side of the bridge that brings you in district 1 where most tourists attractions are and in district 5, Cholon, the famous Chinese neighborhood, and district 4 along the river going to Saigon river opposite district 1. From another the bridge reach Phu My Hung distric 7 such as new city with restaurant and shopping small exhibition event. we are living on the island.
During the day, you can take bus 152 and in less than 10 minutes, it will drop you at the Ben Thanh market or directly at the Ben Thanh bus station, near the Reunification Palace or the War museum,... from there you can walk any where in district 1. If you keep going on that same bus, you can even reach the airport in about 50 minutes just cost 5000 vnd ( 25 cents )
It is also possible to walk over the bridge for about 1,5 km and catch bus number 1 at any time. It can bring you downtown quickly to Le Loi street near the Opera, the famous hotels, major shopping streets or going the other way, to the famous market in Cholon and the Cholon bus station. Bus number 1 from 6am to 8 :30 pm Saigon Cho Lon ( downtown to China town )
District 8 is a living district. Tourists are a rare sight. On the way to my house you will be on typical commercial street with lots of traffic, restaurants, streetfood ... You will then turn on a typical small alley that will lead you to my house. That type of pedestrian alleys form mazes between major streets in HCMC. Most people live in those mazes of alleys and you will be living on one!
Much quieter then the major streets, no cars can enter! The sound of traffic from major streets becomes distant and you can now hear the sound of people living, talking, playing. Of course, the occasionnal moto has to make its way to the major street.
You will see people walking, kids playing in front of their house, families watching tv in their living room, families with little stalls in front of their house, or a little store in their living room...
A few meters from my house, you can have nice Vietnamese coffee. Within a few minutes, you will find a nice local typical market with food stalls, clothings, food market, grocery shopping...
We want your homestay at our house to be Home Away from Home for all travellers: solo, couples and families.
If this is the type of travelling you might enjoy, do not hesitate to write to me. Each room is 19$/night for 1 person and 25$ for 2.

This was our first Airbnb stay. If all are like this, it will be the only way we go.Our stay with Pham Dilinh (Lyn to us) her family and the other guests was excellent. First, Lyn, quickly responded to all our queries prior to arriving at her home in District 8, Saigon or Ho Chi Min City. Our nice, clean room had a balcony looking out at the narrow interconnecting pathways in which only a motorcycle, bicycle, or person could navigate. Great views of city life. There was a lovely rooftop terrace. With Lyn's home of five stories, the view from the terrace over HCMC was terrific, a beautiful way to spend an evening. Upon our first morning, Lyn, invited us to accompany her to get coffee, tea next to her home. Not quite sure why, we soon were introduced to a terrific family from the United States. Lyn knew we were Americans. Lyn showed us the local sights, took us for an absolutely delicious lunch at the local market, showed us how to navigate the busy roadways, use the bus system, the best taxi service, etc. In otherwords, because of Lyn, we felt comfortable to see the "real" HCMC on our own in a very short time.
The day tour company that Lyn arranged for us to the Mekong Delta was also excellent in our opinion. Very well organized, well paced, interesting (email hidden)n's family is a delight. Not knowing any Vietnamese and Lyn's mother and father not knowing much English, we laughed and enjoyed each other's company very much with Lyn doing some interpreting.
As I rate and review Lyn's home, I see the picture on the left of the screen that says "great authentic stay in Saigon." Very, very true!
Dilinh and your family.
Had a great time at Pham's! Very local experience and very helpful to travelers.
Pham was so helpful and her family is also lovely. I was only in Ho Chi Minh for one night in transit, so was just looking for a bed for the night. Would have loved to have spent more time there with Pham and her family.
Great place to stay. Hosts were very nice and helpful. Room was exactly what we needed. We would stay there again.
Dinh our host was full of hints and advises before and during the time she was in Ho Chi Minh. She helped us with sim card and local street food. She recommended local walks. She was friendly. Her mum was so sweet and we communicated with gestures, smiles and photos. The room and bathroom were clean and we fully appreciated air conditioning!
If you want real Saigon experience go to this address as we felt the only foreigners in district 8 but locals were very helpful to even help us to cross the main road at night (scary experience)
We walked to City Centre but there are buses and taxis easy to call out. Dilind recommended 2 types of taxi (with meters). We used them on different occasion and they are honest and reliable.
Dilinh is such a sweet person! We arrived late, and she and her family helped us settle in. She provided us with a map to explore HCMC (SaiGon). I loved that we were close enough to everything, but far enough from the touristy area (to avoid touristy prices).
Her whole family is nice. Her mom offered us lunch and banh xeo (my companion's favorite thing to eat). Her brother put one of XL luggage on his shoulder (like a wrestler) and just skipped up 5 flights of stairs, as our room is on the 5th floor.
Her dad is boss; we had a few drinks with him during one of the nights. Although there was a language barrier, we were able to mime in order to understand each other. Her brother raises a rooster, so you will hear it in the morning. It didn't bother us because we are relatively heavy sleepers.
Overall, we really loved and enjoyed our stay. We definitely recommend her home to anyone!
We had a great time in Pham's lovely home in Saigon. Although located well outside of the tourist district, it's only a short bus ride into the centre and the bus stop is just across the street! This bus also goes to the airport (about a 45 minute ride), which is very convenient and affordable. The house is beautiful and comfortable and Pham's family is very friendly. Pham was away during our stay, but we shared some meals with her family and had a great time. There is a nice market and plenty to eat near the house, as well. We would definitely stay here again.
Thank you for the great authentic stay in hcmc!everything was fine!
My solo trip to Vietnam was special because of Pham. She and her mother made me feel like a part of her family. On a whim, she accomodated me an extra night when I needed it, she's super responsive, my room was as pictured, and she also coordinated a day tour for me which I feel was the highlight of my trip to HCMC. On my last night she took me out for a night tour of the city + introduced me to an authentic Pho dining experience, which was exciting for me to do IN Vietnam. She will make sure that her guests have an organic experience which is priceless.
