A Great Authentic Experience A Vietnamese https://www.airbnb.com/manage-listing/921816/pricinghomestay with my family.
We live in a typical Vietnamese house, in a typical family neighborhood, on a typical pedestrian street.
Our newly built house has five floors. We rent two private rooms. Each room offers a comfortable queen size bed, a private bathroom, air-conditionning, fan, tv, wifi, large window and glass door to let in natural light (with good curtains if you wish to be in the dark!), and a small balcony overlooking streetlife. Each room can accomodate 2 persons.
You are welcome to use our kitchen or whatever facility our house offers. Many of our previous guests really enjoyed the 360 view offered from our roof top terrace at sunrise, sundown, or to see the city lights in the evening.
We live in district 8, just on the other side of the bridge that brings you in district 1 where most tourists attractions are and in district 5, Cholon, the famous Chinese neighborhood, and district 4 along the river going to Saigon river opposite district 1. From another the bridge reach Phu My Hung distric 7 such as new city with restaurant and shopping small exhibition event. we are living on the island.
During the day, you can take bus 152 and in less than 10 minutes, it will drop you at the Ben Thanh market or directly at the Ben Thanh bus station, near the Reunification Palace or the War museum,... from there you can walk any where in district 1. If you keep going on that same bus, you can even reach the airport in about 50 minutes just cost 5000 vnd ( 25 cents )
It is also possible to walk over the bridge for about 1,5 km and catch bus number 1 at any time. It can bring you downtown quickly to Le Loi street near the Opera, the famous hotels, major shopping streets or going the other way, to the famous market in Cholon and the Cholon bus station. Bus number 1 from 6am to 8 :30 pm Saigon Cho Lon ( downtown to China town )
District 8 is a living district. Tourists are a rare sight. On the way to my house you will be on typical commercial street with lots of traffic, restaurants, streetfood ... You will then turn on a typical small alley that will lead you to my house. That type of pedestrian alleys form mazes between major streets in HCMC. Most people live in those mazes of alleys and you will be living on one!
Much quieter then the major streets, no cars can enter! The sound of traffic from major streets becomes distant and you can now hear the sound of people living, talking, playing. Of course, the occasionnal moto has to make its way to the major street.
You will see people walking, kids playing in front of their house, families watching tv in their living room, families with little stalls in front of their house, or a little store in their living room...
A few meters from my house, you can have nice Vietnamese coffee. Within a few minutes, you will find a nice local typical market with food stalls, clothings, food market, grocery shopping...
We want your homestay at our house to be Home Away from Home for all travellers: solo, couples and families.
If this is the type of travelling you might enjoy, do not hesitate to write to me. Each room is 19$/night for 1 person and 25$ for 2.
About home sweet home away.

feel free in my place. sweet home away home :)
Our stay with Linh was incredible. The house was perfect, but more importantly the people were amazing. Linh was so hospitable and made our stay in HCM all the more better.
Can't wait to return, thanks for everything
Linh, Yo, and the whole family were really nice. They showed us around everywhere, helped us organize a trip to mekong. Showed us an authentic time in Saigon. I would highly recommend staying here.
Our stay was our first time in Vietnam. The location is only a short bus ride to all the major attractions and is in a local district. It's nice because the prices around there are much cheaper than the Tourist district. Dilinh helped us book excursions, bus tickets, and was very helpful with getting food. We were able to go with her on a new cruise excursion she is offering with dinner that was a great time. I recommend asking her about it. We would highly recommend staying with her and her family to experience the culture and get expert advice and assistance. It is a side that many tourists never get to see.
Had a really great stay at Linh's place. She and her family were very welcoming and made us feel at home. Location is not necessarily central, but it's a short bus/cab ride away, and it's right by a fresh market and a multitude of awesome restaurants and food vendors. Actually there is a little pho shop right by Linh's house and it was delicious, and it only cost 20,000 VND for a bowl of soup. Linh was also great in giving us advices on what to do, where to go, as well as giving us recommendations on tours and activities. I was very please with Linh's hospitality!
Pham is very nice and you have all you need in the house. The family is also very nice and they are always willing to help. The location is ok, although you need a taxi (especially if it is very hot outside). We enjoyed getting out of the tourist scene at least to sleep. There is a market close by but for the rest you need transportation. Talk to Pham and she will inform you about eveything!
After reading all the wonderful reviews and seeing the pictures, I was somewhat disappointed with my stay here.
I will preface by saying that Linh seemed nice and her parents even though they do not speak English are incredibly kind and just the most pleasant folks you could possibly meet.
Unfortunately I only met Linh once which is ok I suppose but the point of me choosing to stay in host home was to actually be hosted. That didn't happen.
I also did not get the room that I booked and only found out the following day. I would have preferred if that was communicated to me prior to my arrival. She did attempt to rectify the matter by giving me a partial refund.
The room was nothing like these pictures it was however clean and the a/c worked well.
Getting to the house can be a bit challenging the first time but once you are aware of the area it is very easy. There is a bus that takes you to and from the airport and saves so much money. Super easy.
There are a few places to eat in that area but if you want to head into town it's cheap and easy.
Dear Linh, thank you so much for the pleasant stay in your house with your family. I enjoyed it very much. Your recommendations were very helpful. When I am back in Saigon I will stay again in your house for sure. Cheers Anette
