  • Staying in The Spook was absolutely delightful. The cottage is very cozy and had everything one needs for a great stay. Winster is a nice, little village with fantastic walks around the village. Anthea and Clive were welcoming and helpful hosts. We hope to come back.

  • We absolutely loved our stay at the Spook. It is a charming cottage with many great walks on your doorstep. The location was perfect for us as the cottage is in a small and quiet village - a refreshing change to central London! Anthea was very helpful on arrival - letting us know about nearby walks and places of interest. I would (and have already) recommended this cottage to friends and family.

  • We absolutely loved our stay in the Spook. It is a charming little cottage in a beautiful village with winding narrow streets. The photos don't do it justice. We also had 2 fantastic meals in the pub just down the road. I couldn't recommend it more.

  • We stayed at The Spook for a weekend in August. It's an excellent base for exploring that part of the Peaks. The house is clean, compact and comfortable (plus lots of books, which I love!) Our host, Anthea, was helpful and knowledgeable about what was going on locally, which also added to our enjoyment. Thanks to Anthea & AirBNB for a lovely weekend.

  • Nice place in a nice village. Small but very functional for 1-2 people. Shame the better of the two pubs is open only thurs to sun but the village store is well stocked. Close to Bakewell which is lovely so that was handy.

We live in the Peak National Park in England. My husband used to work for a charity and I am a chartered surveyor. Old buildings, village life, walking and gardening are what we like.
