About this listing
I have a large sea view apartment with high ceilings by the seaside in Hove, a town next to Brighton.
The apartment is in an area full of cafes, shops and restaurants. Hove has plenty of charity shops, vintage and antique shops.
There is a leisure centre just next door with a large swimming pool, tennis court, gym and a great long promenade along the seafront for those who love running and cycling.
Along the seafront there are 3 great safe playgrounds for younger children.
The Beach is just a minute away and a great place in the evening for barbecue. Hove has a small Saturday market at Hove´s main street; George street where you can get organic food and fresh flowers.
The living room have access to a sea facing balcony with morning and midday sun.
The bedroom room is in the back, quiet, with evening sun. Double bed. The back faces a garden (no access).
The kitchen has a small balcony/fire exit with place for chairs.
That side has a wonderful afternoon, evening sun.
It is a 2 bedroom flat, but my sons room will be closed off. I will store things in that room.
The mattress from that room can be used in another room. Children are welcome and with no extra charge.
The train station in Hove is 10 minutes away. Brighton is just 20 minutes seafront walk.
London is an hour away and southerns railways has good deals. See more below.
The nearest airport is Gatwick and has a direct trains, 25 minutes. If you come to Heathrow, I recommend direct bus, 2 :15 min with National express to Brighton.
It is a great place for long country walks, easy access to the Downs and Sevens sisters National parks(website hidden).
I live and work in London every other week.
I spend summer holiday in Sweden.
I have no Car- so I have no parking!
There are cheap, but for short stay only parking nearby at King Alfred Leisure.
Otherwise check these out: (website hidden)
OR join a city car club, plenty of cars around, even on my street.
I have one bicycle and two helmets which you are welcome to borrow.
Interaction with Guests
I am away either in Sweden or London so likely I won't meet you but my flat carer Liz and George will see you and show you around.
There are great public transport just up the road. Buses to Brighton centre leaves frequently where you can range to take public buses to The Downs or Sevens Sisters for example.
On the Kings way the bus 700 can take you faster to Brighton or to the other way, to Shoreham, Worthing and Littlehampton.
Other Things to Note
It is a good idea to buy a discount card; Network railcard. That makes every travel, and you can go to many small villages around in the area with that, 30% off. But from Gatwick it is the same price about 9 pounds anyway (no discount under £10). It is good to buy in advance for your trip to Hove from Gatwick and pick up at a collect service machine as they are much quicker. You then use your visa card which with you bought the ticket. Then when you arrive in Hove you can buy a network card, which is including a form you have to fill in.
Get a online account on southern railway and buy your advance tickets online. It can cost £5 to go to London..very cheap.
The train you will take from Gatwick is the train towards Little hampton, pls note you are in the right train section, or go to Brighton and change to Hove, one stop. Or do what I do sometimes, go to Brighton, take taxi and ask the driver to drive along the seaside to the house. Beautiful.
No ball games inside as I have plenty of art on the walls!
Please be considered towards the neighbours. The living room has no carpet.
No late night parties with loud music please.
The balcony door should not be left open when you leave the house and please remove the keys from the door when you are not in, to prevent burglars.
