About this listing
Best neighborhood in LA! (if you wanna have fun) Close to Downtown, Hollywood, China town. In between Silverlake and Elysian Park. A Beautiful lake and park are just a block from the house :)
PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU SEND A INQUIRY: This is not suitable for children, pets, and is most suitable for 1 guest, or a couple who can share a bed. It is a full size bed. The area is URBAN, it is in the center of town, and a very busy area. That can mean noise and limited parking. With that it is a really fun area with tons of things to do! all walking distance. I live in a beautiful old 2 bedroom apartment right in the heart of Echo Park! It was built in 1918! We are a half block from Sunset blvd, and a half block to the Lake! There is a ton of stuff to do within a 2 minute walk. The bus stops are also within a block! Super fun area, and close to downtown, Chinatown and Hollywood. This is a busy, crazy neighborhood, with tons of bars, and people, so if you are looking for a quiet "retreat" this isnt for you. The house is quiet however, I am hardly home, and my neighbors are great! You will have your own private livingroom and bedroom. The kitchen is stocked with what ever you need to cook, and I provide cereal, coffee, tea, juice etc. The bathroom is shared, with me only, and its cleaned daily. Its a huge place and very clean and cozy. There is no parking at the house, but there is a parking lot next door for 2.50 per day or else FREE street parking. I provide towels, linens, toiletries, a hair dryer, bathrobes, slippers (no shoes in house) Umbrella, luggage scale, etc etc. Basic Cable TV also. Basically most everything you will need while traveling. Hope to see you soon, take care.
All rooms except mine.
Interaction with Guests
I try to give my guests privacy and make them feel at home.
The diversity, the endless restaurant supply, the Bars, the Echo Park Lake, and the close proximity to Downtown and Hollywood.
We are a block from the buses, and very close to Union Station.
Other Things to Note
The house is OLD, lots of charm, not a lot of modern things. I dont have central heat, just a gas heater in the main room and your room has a space heater. Its only chilly a few months here in sunny LA ;) There is a window A/C unit in your room.
Sorry but no pets and no children. Be nice. Be clean, be respectful. Sorry but no shoes inside, I do have slippers for you :) Any additional guests coming to the property that are not part of the reservation are prohibited for liability reasons. We try to keep noise levels down after 10pm to respect our neighbors. I am willing to provide basic cleaning of the main areas, and laundry for sheets and towels, but the rest is up to you. make sure to wash dishes asap. There is a backyard area as well as the private deck, you are welcome to use it. :) This is not a hotel, so please take care of the things in the house. Feel at home, and enjoy this awesome area :)
I stayed at Giulianna's apartment for the weekend with a friend. We absolutely loved the place! The apartment was so cute, and we felt really comfortable there. Giulianna was an excellent host. The location was absolutely fantastic, and she has a very charming second-story patio out back (Saturday night, there was a soul music party, and we had a lot of fun sitting out there listening to the music). I'd definitely stay here again.
Echo Park is filled with cool surprises at every corner and this apartment is right in the middle of all of it. I felt very welcomed and found it very convenient to get to a lot of things in the area. LA is the best!
Loved staying with Giulianna at her amazing suite in Echo Park. It is such an inviting and cozy space that's really well decorated and clean. She was a great host and always very helpful.
The location is perfect - close to everything. Parking was a little tough to find a few times late at night but there was always a spot within reasonable walking distance. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a unique, lovely experience through Airbnb. Thank you so much Giulianna!
This home was the most unique place I've ever stayed in on Airbnb or elsewhere! Giulianna has created a lovely, quirky home that is unlike any other lodging option. What's more, her little touches like a welcome card and slippers made this truly a home away from home. She is also located in perhaps the best area of LA and is walking distance to all things beautiful and fun in Echo Park. Must stay if you are in the area!
Having both the bedroom and the living room available to us privately was very nice. The apartment is big and has a nice balcony.
The living room is however darker than it appears in the pictures, and the aircon is very noisy.
We had read about Echo Park and expected it to be a very up and coming area. We found this to be true to some extend, but less than be expected.
Sorry Kristoffer, maybe you came during a cloudy day? Also, the A/C is a window unit which I describe in my amenities section and unfortunately those are not very quiet machines. You can however adjust the fan to a low setting which is less noisy. I think its tough to know exactly what to expect from a neighborhood, but luckily you can take a visual tour though airbnb of each area, and you can also use google maps to get a better view, those have helped me while traveling to new places.
After a stressful few days visiting LA for work, Giulianna's place was a welcome relief. It's even better than it looks in the photos, with plenty of space. The location couldn't be better, right between Echo Park and Sunset, walking distance to restaurants, coffee, bars, shops. I was out of the house a lot of the time, but Giulianna was extremely accommodating - I booked very last minute and she was quick to respond, and when I had to check in late and she made sure I got the key. I'd definitely recommend this place to friends visiting LA, and I hope its available next time Im there.
Giulianna's place is wonderful and located in a great part of town with easy access to so much! She was one of the best airbnb hosts we have had and was extremely helpful and accommodating.
About the Host, Giulianna
I am like a punk rock Martha Stewart. I had my own clothing line for years, now I cook and sell wine and beer. I paint, draw, play music, sew,, detail vintage cars, volunteer, and purchase brick a brack in absurd quantities at local thrift stores, travel, and get to the ocean as much as possible. My favorite thing to do is have people stay at my house, I love being a hostess.
