The Space

Experience the charm of the Old South at The Farmhouse!

My home is in older neighborhood of Memphis, on a residential, mid-city, semi-busy street, with ample parking and is within walking distance of a library, a bus stop, the Greenline biking/walking trail, varied restaurants, and a shopping center. It is about 8 miles from downtown Memphis.

All 5 spaces at the Farmhouse are private, all have wifi access, and all guests have access to the public areas in the main house, which include kitchen, tv and dining (website hidden) should be done in the main kitchen downstairs.

The property includes:

THE FARMHOUSE COTTAGE- a separate building behind the main house, which provides complete privacy and includes a standard bed, full private bath, kitchenette,  and wifi connection.

FIRST FLOOR:
THE FARMHOUSE WEST TWIN with 2 single beds and shared bath.

THE FARMHOUSE SUN ROOM TWIN- a room with 3 twin beds, and shared bath.

SECOND FLOOR: includes a deck in the treetops, full bath, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and wifi connection.

THE FARMHOUSE BLUE ROOM is a sunny room on the west side of the second floor with a queen bed.

THE ARTISAN ROOM is a large room with two twin beds, and not much sunlight

The second floor is an apartment which can be rented as a whole @ $70/night, or by private room for $40/night.

  • Patty was a wonderful friendly host for my wife and I as we briefly visited our daughter in the neighborhood. Bedding was comfortable and the shared bath was convenient. We did not need to eat anything but the kitchen was well stocked for breakfast. The off street parking was also a plus. If you need a comfortable, quiet and inexpensive place to stay while visiting Memphis, I recommend The Farmhouse!
    Thanks Patty!

  • Patty was a warm and receptive host who was prepared for our visit, displayed warm and helpful hospitality and checked in with us several times throughout our stay to assure we had everything we needed. Conveniently located, the Cottage provides accessibility to local restaurants and many mid-town touring sites, as well as the Greenline for morning exercise or walks. Those who want to spend less on lodging and more on the sites and experiences of Memphis will find Patty's hostel a great fit.

  • Patty was my first Airbnb host and I had an amazing time! I ended up staying in the "Westroom" which was located directly next to the bathroom and near the kitchen. Although I shared her home with other renters, it felt as if I practically had the house to myself the whole time.

She was a very gracious host. Her home is close to highway 240, good restaurants (Central BBQ) and popular retail stores. Along with getting a true "local" experience of the city, I also enjoyed looking at the plush homes and neighborhoods close by her (Walnut Grove, etc). I give her the highest recommendation and would definitely stay with her again if/when I return to Memphis.

  • Patty is a great lady and we had a great time getting to know her! She was very helpful when it came to exploring the area. Sitting on the porch to her lovely home and chatting with her over a glass a wine was a highlight from our trip!

  • This was a good place to stay. My sunroom bedroom was very private and comfortable. Patty, the host, is very friendly and laid back. She gives you your own space but will certainly be available if you wish. Good value for what was provided.

  • We stayed with Patty twice, in two different rooms. We loved our stay both times!

  • Our stay at Patty's home was wonderful. My boyfriend and I stayed here on our cross-country road trip and we arrived very late, so we were sad that we didn't get to spend much time with Patty! She seemed lovely and very welcoming. Our room was clean and comfy, and we were very grateful for the AC! Would highly recommend this airbnb!

  • Patty's house is fantastic! We only stayed one night, but would have liked to stay a week! The house is huge with a lovely garden and an even better porch. The room had A/C and we slept very soundly. Patty is very friendly and helpful. She even has a lifesize cutout of Elvis in her livingroom! Choose Patty and enjoy your stay!

  • My husband and I stayed with Patty for 2 nights. We had a great time. The house was beautiful and not far from anything we wanted to do. Patty was a great host and let us just watch movies on her tv. I would highly recommend staying with Patty for anyone who is going to Memphis.

About
Hello!..I am a life-long Memphian, and mother of a wonderful daughter, and a fabulous son who grew up and left me with an empty nest.. : ( When I learned about Airbnb, I posted my accommodations immediately, and my life has been blooming ever since. PLEASE.... Always message me on the Airbnb site, rather than sending me an email. It's easier to keep up with what's going on when all the correspondence is in one place... thanks. PLEASE.... post a photo of yourself on your profile, rather than children, animals or yourself in costume. I believe it is in the best interest of all of us using Airbnb for our security. It's nice to be able to recognize my houseguests, as I assume they appreciate knowing what I look like.... Thanks As much as I would like to give discounts, I assure you that we are all on a similar budget, and this is how I make my living, a very conservative one, in fact. Please keep that in mind when you are looking for a deal... I believe my rates are very reasonable. In the same vein, my rates are based on the number of people, for the most part, and most rooms accommodate two people. I charge an extra $10 for a third person. I am not set up to provide fresh towels every day, so please bring your own extras, and, please don't wash my laundry. I try to keep the loads as minimal as possible. One more thing... Keep in mind, this is my home, not a hotel, and I work very hard to keep my spaces as comfortable and your stay as uneventful as I am physically and financially able, and my reviews reflect my past successes, which are numerous. However, this more 'casual' environment is not for everyone. What I love most about Airbnb is that all of us are on the same playing field, so to speak... We both get and give reviews.. There is no 'customer is always right' with Airbnb. When a guest makes what I believe are petty, or overly critical remarks, they are forgetting that I have a say as well, and consequently, I would not recommend that guest to a potential host. I am a very generous person, and have never given a negative review to any guest who is a part of the Airbnb community no matter what happened because they are a guest in my home....UNLESS, they unkindly criticize me or my home... I consider it an insult and would never welcome that guest into my home again...just sayin.
