The Farmhouse Sun Room Twin

The Space

Come experience the charm of the Old South at The Farmhouse. This destination has been in the same family since 1956, and has undergone many additions and changes through the years, but has always been a place in which one will find peace and quiet, security, and now, a community of other fascinating and enthusiastic travelers…. Oh, and great coffee!

The Farmhouse is in older neighborhood of Memphis, on a residential, mid-city, semi-busy street. The property is within walking distance of a library, a bus stop, many varied restaurants, and a shopping center. It is about 8 miles from downtown Memphis.

You will find the accommodations at The Farmhouse will fit just about anyone's needs and budget.

The property includes:

THE FARMHOUSE COTTAGE- a separate building behind the main house, which provides complete privacy and includes a standard bed, full private bath, kitchenette, and wifi connection.

THE FARMHOUSE FUTON BUNK- a private room on the first floor, with shared bath, kitchen, and public areas, with lots of room to move around in and enjoy the company of other guests.

THE FARMHOUSE SUN ROOM TWIN- a private room with two twin beds. Guests will share a bath and have access to the downstairs, and the upstairs, unless it is rented out as a whole.

THE FARMHOUSE BLUE ROOM is a sunny room on the west side of the second floor with a queen bed. It includes a deck in the treetops, full bath, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and wifi connection.

You will feel like you are in the country when you enjoy the back garden, the front porch or the upper deck. When I am able, I love to visit with guests, with coffee in the morning and/or a cocktail in the evening.

My house is located two blocks from a bus stop that goes straight to Downtown Memphis. Also, a library, a shopping center, a post office. and various restaurants are within walking distance.

Please leave the inside front door open, do not push it closed as it is tricky to open even if it is unlocked

  • Staying with Patty was just awesome! We had no idea of memphis at the first place but we quickly found out how much there was to discover. The Stax Museum, Sam Phillips Sun Studios, Beale Street...so much more! Patty is the absolut best host you can imagine. Warm, welcoming and just easy to hang out with. Her house is a charm and makes you feel just like home We had a great stay. Be there or be square!

  • Patty offered me a little cottage in her garden with shower and kitchen facilities and a large bed which was exactly what I wanted. It had TV and Internet and is perfect for a stay in Memphis. If you like your privacy ask for the cottage, would stay there again and would highly recommend it. We had coffee together the next morning and she is a fun lady.

  • My experiences with airbnb are limited (2), however, I've enjoyed my stay at both, was well pleased on both counts with the experience. I will say that the opportunity to make the acquaintance of my hosts will be the primary reason for my next trip. It's nice to feel at home on the road.

  • Patty was a gracious host, sharing her entire home with us. The room and beds were comfortable, the bathroom clean.

  • Patty was a perfect Southern hostess! She has a beautiful spirit and is great fun to talk to! She has a clean, comfortable welcoming home. If I am ever in the Memphis area again or within a couple of hours, I will definitely stay with
    Patty again.

  • My wife Sonia and I (John) had a very pleasant 2 night stay with Patty. She is definitely a free spirit and a very good host.

  • My friend and I came through Memphis for one night, and booked a last-minute stay at Patty's Farmhouse. She was an incredibly gracious host, and the home is beautiful and full of personality! Patty gave us some great recommendations for things to do in the city. We had a great experience and would highly recommend Patty's Farmhouse.

  • This was my second Airbnb stay and the "Farmhouse Sun Room Twin" was exactly as described. Everything was neat and clean and Patty couldn't have been nicer. We checked in later in the evening before going downtown for a late dinner and checking out Beale Street. Patty was helpful in making sure we new where we were going and in offering suggestions. She has a beautiful home that she enjoys sharing with those along their journey. If you're pulling a U-Haul or trailer as we were, her back parking is safe and large enough to accommodate which are 2 of the reasons we elected to stay at Patty's. We we're up and out on the road early, but Patty was up offering us breakfast and coffee before we left. Hopefully next time we will be able to take her up on that offer! We had a great experience and would recommend Patty and her home to anyone passing through or staying in the Memphis area.

  • It was great to be at Patty's again. Quiet, comfortable and Patty loves to have a good conversation. Both times I have stayed with her have been very pleasant. Neighborhood is safe. Sunroom is lovely and the best sleep I had had in several days of travel. A good place to land for a night or days.

  • We only stayed one night with Patty in Memphis but we've got no complaints. The booking process was smooth and Patty was very quick with replies and answers. Our room was comfy and her house is so wonderful. A beautiful old farmhouse that I wish we could have stayed longer in. Very close to the highway and about 20 mins from Graceland and Beale st. 10 mins from lovely Overton park. Not sure how easy it is to get around there on transit but we had no troubles in the car. We even got a quick glimpse of her little outdoor kitty on our way out! :)

About
Hello!..I am a life-long Memphian, and mother of a wonderful daughter, and a fabulous son who grew up and left me with an empty nest.. : ( When I learned about Airbnb, I posted my accommodations immediately, and my life has been blooming ever since. It's a little intimidating at the very beginning, but I knew it would just take time to get used to it... and I was right. Now, I look forward to every new guest. Some guests like to relax around the house, and some are out and about most of their time here, but everybody is interesting. I can't believe how lovely it has been to be able to host young people who remind me of my children. My mothering instincts just come out. In addition, I make new friendships with folks closer to my age and get to do stuff together. Stuff like dining out, sharing my favorite places with others, and sitting with coffee/wine/beer on the front porch, or enjoying a fire in the back garden. My guests have taught me so much about where they come from, and many internationals seem to know more about my country than I do. I'm learning a lot. Airbnb is great... spread the word! As much as I would like to give discounts, I assure you that we are all on a similar budget, and this is how I make my living, a conservative one. Please keep that in mind when you are looking for a deal... I believe my rates are very reasonable. In the same vein, my rates are based on the number of people, for the most part, and most rooms accommodate two people. I charge an extra $10 for a third person. I am not set up to provide fresh towels every day, so please bring your own extras, and, please don't wash my laundry. I try to keep the loads as minimal as possible. Always message me on the Airbnb site, rather than sending me an email. It's easier to keep up with what's going on when all the correspondence is in one place... thanks.
