A room in the heart of East Austin!

House - Private room · East 7th Street, Austin, TX 78702, United States

The Space

Our house is a gem, and the bedroom for rent is the coldest in the summer and the warmest in the winter (thats how the air works, wish it was my room!). High ceilings and tall windows let in plenty of light and the large yard and front porch mean that you get to spend a lot of time relaxing outside in the lovely Austin weather.

Note: This room is available all the time, not just during ACL. We're a 1 mile walk to the convention center, and very close to the light rail that will drop you right in fron of the convention center and downtown.

We're near the corner of 7th and Comal, steps away from the venues, bars, food trucks and restaurants (Liberty, East Side King, Shangri-La, White Horse, Yellow Jacket, Takoba, East Side Showroom, Hillside Farmacy, Trailer Space, East Side Pies) all over the east side, and only a 10 minute walk to downtown/red river area. 1 bedroom with twin size bunk beds and we can also provide a full size air mattress if you would like to squeeze a 3rd or 4th. 1.5 baths. We have a full kitchen so you won't need to spend all of your money on eating out, we also have a charcoal grill outside which I'm sure you'll appreciate if the weather is nice. The stereo in the house that plugs right into your iphone so you can listen to all the bands you get to discover during ACL when you come back home to rest. Only 3 miles from ACL.

Other amenities include a coffee maker, washer/dryer, a tandem bicycle, and one private parking spot.

We are also pet friendly if you need to bring the pooch with you.

The bus to downtown stops right in front of the house.

  • The host were amazing. The room mate offered me a bike which I used to travel all over down town. They were very nice, helpful, and were just the perfect host. I couldn't of been more pleased. I was too busy, but wished I had some more time and energy to just grab a drink with the hosts.

  • Colin and his roommate are very friendly, laid back people with whom you could easily strike a fun and interesting conversation. I had a great time staying at their place. They generously let me have one of their bikes for the entire time (which was super useful because you can bike anywhere in Austin). Their place is only a few minutes away from downtown Austin (e.g., Austin Convention Center, where I had to go the whole time I was there). The room is not like a five-star hotel, it's pretty bare bones: Just a bunk bed, desk, shelves, etc. The house itself has all the amenities listed and I can't imagine needing anything else. Couple things could be fixed to work better but the important thing is Colin was very thoughtful and checked to make sure I was having a comfortable stay. The price is very reasonable. I highly recommend staying at this place.

  • Colin and Frye couldn't have made our stay any easier. It was my first time using AirBnB and I was a little skeptical, but all of my worries were put at ease when all my questions were answered promptly and with great detail. Be it e-mail, phone call, or text message. These guys were lightning quick with their responses.

Our stay couldn't have been better. They were prompt in provided keys, provided clean towels, sheets and plenty of toilet paper. It honestly felt like crashing at your buddies place in East Austin. The location can't be beat. It's a quick walk to all of the fun on Sixth Street and a block away from all the food trucks, restaurants, and bars that East Austin has to offer.

Thanks for your hospitality Colin and Frye. We had a blast! Cheers!

    All the best,

Hey! I'm a micro-biologist doing research at UT-Austin. I like to ride bikes around the hill country of Austin and eat queso and drink margaritas. I moved here three years ago, and Austin has been good to me. I look forward to sharing it with you too. I live with my girlfriend and another dude friend. She is a graduate student and works part time at an ad agency, and he is a bike mechanic/pedi-cab driver. We are all laid-back people who just want our guests to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
