Our house is a gem, and the bedroom for rent is the coldest in the summer and the warmest in the winter (thats how the air works, wish it was my room!). High ceilings and tall windows let in plenty of light and the large yard and front porch mean that you get to spend a lot of time relaxing outside in the lovely Austin weather.
Note: This room is available all the time, not just during ACL. We're a 1 mile walk to the convention center, and very close to the light rail that will drop you right in fron of the convention center and downtown.
We're near the corner of 7th and Comal, steps away from the venues, bars, food trucks and restaurants (Liberty, East Side King, Shangri-La, White Horse, Yellow Jacket, Takoba, East Side Showroom, Hillside Farmacy, Trailer Space, East Side Pies) all over the east side, and only a 10 minute walk to downtown/red river area. 1 bedroom with twin size bunk beds and we can also provide a full size air mattress if you would like to squeeze a 3rd or 4th. 1.5 baths. We have a full kitchen so you won't need to spend all of your money on eating out, we also have a charcoal grill outside which I'm sure you'll appreciate if the weather is nice. The stereo in the house that plugs right into your iphone so you can listen to all the bands you get to discover during ACL when you come back home to rest. Only 3 miles from ACL.
Other amenities include a coffee maker, washer/dryer, a tandem bicycle, and one private parking spot.
We are also pet friendly if you need to bring the pooch with you.
The bus to downtown stops right in front of the house.
We expect the house to generally be in the same condition and cleanliness as we left it. A Be a respectful neighbor and no smoking inside, and of course, have fun and enjoy this wonderful city! Smoking is fine outside.
Colin was very nice with some good recommendations. The stay was smooth. Location of his place is great for the nightlife, also next to great places to eat.
Colin and his roommate, Frye, were absolutely superb hosts. The apartment was very clean, spacious and amenable for Airbnb travelers. The location was super convenient to the different points of interest in Austin. We had a great time and come back in a heartbeat!
Colin was a good host, great communication before I arrived and very helpful once I was there. Amazing value, Austin can be very pricey for hotels. Located 15 minutes to the city and close to 6th street. lots of bars, excellent trailer food.
Good experience overhaul

I had a wonderful time at the place. I was visiting friends and needed a home base, so I actually didn't spend much time there. I didn't meet Colin but his roommate Frye was wonderful and gave me a great BBQ tip. The home is as described and there are a ton of very cool places a few blocks away. I walked nearly everywhere from there and felt very comfortable. I would definitely come (website hidden) Pearl the dog is a sweetheart!
Had an awesome time staying at Colin's house for a few weeks over Christmas and New Year's. The house was just as described. Very spacious, big kitchen, and the bedroom was nice and warm even when it dropped below freezing outside a couple of nights. The location is perfect - tons of great cafes, bars, and restaurants just a few minutes walk away. Downtown is only a ten minute walk or so. The wifi in the house is excellent (I worked from the house a lot), and there are a few free wifi hangouts nearby that I'd recommend: Brew & Brew, Vintage Heart Coffee, and Rio Rita.
Colin and Frye were amazing hosts. Super nice guys, great communication, and extremely helpful with recommendations of things to do around the city. Frye's dog Pearl is the sweetest most chill dog I've ever met. I would definitely stay here again. You guys rock, thanks!

Hey! I'm a micro-biologist doing research at UT-Austin. I like to ride bikes around the hill country of Austin and eat queso and drink margaritas. I moved here four years ago, and Austin has been good to me. I look forward to sharing it with you too.
I live with my homeboy Frye. He is a bike mechanic/pedi-cab driver, and knows a tremendous amount about the city.
We are all laid-back people who just want our guests to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
