About this listing
In the heart of Avignon, near the most beautiful hotels of XVII to XVIIIth centuries, the loft is situated on the first floor. The place is nicely enlightened by 6 roof windows and 2 windows (one on street, the other one on a yard). The former fireplace, the big mirror, the old mouldings and the visible wood skeleton complete the decoration.
First level : Living room with sofa bed, kitchen, bathroom.
Mezzanine : Queensize bed (160 cm), desk corner
Of course with TV, radio and Internet high speed WIFI.
In the living room, you have a sofa bed for two persons, two armchairs and a coffee table, there to speak about your next excursion to the Pont du Gard, Chateauneuf du Pape, the Mont Ventoux or to the very close Luberon and les Alpilles with Saint-Remy de Provence.
If you prefer to stay in town, you will have great moments visiting the Popes' Palace, one of our historic museums (musee Calvet, musee du Petit Palais) or the very well known contemporary art museum (Collection Lambert).
We also have several cinemas (some in english).
Have also a look to the many churches and their treasures…
The round table for six people is near the kitchen with all the equipment: hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, ...
In the bathroom, the bath, the washbowl, the toilet, the washing machine and the tumble-dryer.
Kitchen and bathroom are under the mezzanine where is a queensizebed (160 cm), a table to write or... work.
I will have pleasure to welcome you there, to tell you about all those places of culture, to propose you to discover more and more, to recommend you a pleasant table.
The city is rich in so many possibilities that you will have to think very fast of returning there.
I was not born here, but I like this city and its exceptional situation. Draw a circle of one hour journey around Avignon and look to all the sites you will miss this time...

We thought the flat was lovely, bright and spacious. Jean-Pierre gave us a very warm welcome on our arrival. The location was great and we were close to everything we needed. We felt right in the middle of the festival which was an added bonus. We would definitely return here were we to visit Avignon again.
Great apartment, really clean and spacious. Full kitchen and a washing machine and dryer. Apartment was hot but with several fans we stayed cool. Halles fresh food markets just around the corner from apartment. Close to everything and you can walk to Avignon central train station. Jean-Pierre was wonderful greeting us even with our late arrival due to train strikes. Fresh
We had a lovely 5-night stay at this loft-like flat, in tiny little street (rather for pedestrians than for cars), within walking distance from cute Les Halles market. The flat was bright, spacious and clean, best for couples if not staying alone (semi-open bathroom). Bedroom is on a mezzanine floor, where heat stores up on very hot summer nights (this could perhaps be remedied by opening the skylights). The open kitchen was very well equipped, we were able to cook breakfast and lunch quite a few times, just like at home!
Jean-Pierre met us at the apartment as agreed and provided us with a very warm welcome, including flowers! He showed us around the apartment and gave us great local information. The apartment was beautiful, well stocked and central to all of Avignon. Can't wait to make another visit.
Jean-Pierre was an excellent host. He communicated all instructions very promptly and clearly and punctually met us at the front door. His loft apartment is nicely located on a quaint side street of Avignon. The kitchen is well equipped and there is more than enough room for 2 people to spread out and be comfortable. It is charming, light and airy. The only negative I would comment about is the loft was quite dusty which aggravated my fiancé's allergies. We had a car and it was a very easy walk to the Les Halles car park, shopping and restaurants. I would definitely recommend Jean-Pierre's loft, but caution if you have allergies.
This is indeed a beautiful loft apartment, tucked away in a quiet side street yet only a few minutes walk to some great bars, cafes and restaurants. If you want self-catering the Les Halles covered market is just around the corner with an amazing selection of great quality foods.
The apartment is very clean, spacious, light and airy; it is well equipped with everything you need and is tastefully decorated - some details are a bit random but it just works - so much better than boring standardised hotel rooms.
Jean-Pierre is a splendid host, very friendly and welcoming and I am sure can give you as much or as little information as you need.
If you want to spend a few days in Avignon I would definitely recommend this apartment; the only problem might be parking if you are driving down as Avignon is a maze of narrow side streets - we came on Eurostar/TGV (which I would also recommend - fast and relaxing) so I can't say what the arrangements might be if you're driving.
We loved Jean-Pierre's place in Avignon!
The location was amazing, a five-minute walk to a fantastic market (Les Halles) and square (Place Pie) which made for great mornings, as well as centrally located for anything else in Avignon. The unit itself is fantastic: spacious, well appointed and furnished, with everything that travelers could need. Jean-Pierre is very friendly and met us to show us around the unit, and gave us some fun travel tips too!
I would enthusiastically recommend it for anybody else who wants to check out this beautiful medieval city.

About the Host, Jean-Pierre
