A truly amazing space! This large bedroom w private living room, 1st FLOOR apt is the best value in Park Slope! The vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors are just the tip. Large south facing windows open up to the greatest neighborhood in NYC!

The space

2 Large rooms on the 1st Floor!
I always enjoy when my guests arrive because they are constantly impressed by the size of the space! The bedroom and the living room are both included and are separated by French doors with thick curtains, which allow for a dark and quiet sleeping experience. The sizeable living room has 3 enormous, south facing windows that let in the sun, sights and sounds of Park Slope (the best neighborhood in NYC).

There is a queen bed in one of the rooms and plenty of room for an air mattress which I have on site.
*Check-in/out time is very flexible, and if your departure is late, feel free to keep your luggage at my place while you take your time in the city!
* I will give you keys so you can come and go as you choose.

Transportation and parking:
Perhaps the best aspect of this space is it's proximity to EVERYTHING! Within a 15 minute walk to every subway in the city, plus the Long Island Railroad, but only 2 blocks to the R train, 5 short blocks from Q and B trains at 7th ave and 6 short blocks from 2 and 3 trains at Bergan or Grand Army Plaza
-- 3 quick train stops away from Manhattan (Canal St. in Chinatown).
-- Q & B express train gets you to Central Park, Carnegie Hall, Times Square/Midtown, Macy's, Empire State Building all within 30-40 minutes.
-- Free street parking. I have a car and I never have a problem finding a spot close to the house! Street cleaning is only once a week, a million times easier to park here than in manhattan!

The area:
-- Q and B trains are three stops away from Manhattan
-- Steps to Prospect Park, Brooklyn Museum, Botanic Garden, Zoo, farmers markets
-- Safe residential street close to everything.
-- Abundance of shops and GREAT restaurants (some of the best in the city) a stones throw away!

-- 3 different Grocery stores are around the corner so you can cook at home and save your $ for other things.
-- Laundromat with affordable drop off and pick up services less than a 1/2 a block away (or you can do it yourself)
-- very diverse and progressive neighborhood, all ages and cultures living in harmony.
-- walking distance or short train ride to Brooklyn Heights & its promenade, Brooklyn Bridge walkway and Park, DUMBO, Barclay Center / Atlantic mall, Greenwood cemetery, Brooklyn's China Town, Cobble Hill and so much more!

Guest access

I encourage my guests to immediately feel at home! I want them to feel a connection to the neighborhood, the space and everything in it!
Guests will have access to the kitchen, all pots pans, the refrigerator etc...
The Bathroom is huge by NY standards and since I use the shower at the gym, I am never in the way!
It is my #1 concern that my guests have complete access to the bathroom at all times!

Interaction with guests

I am extremely outgoing, but once the formalities are out of the way, I leave the interaction time to my guests. I make myself available for any questions, recommendations, or concerns, without interfering with their stay. I've had guests that I've shared dinners with and I've had others that preferred to be left alone. My only concern is the comfort of my guests for the duration of their stay!

This place is awesome! Wonderful neighborhood, super safe, tons of restaurants and bars, and extremely clean. Kevin was very accommodating and after we experienced park slope, my friends and I are entertaining the idea of making a move from Kentucky to the area. This was a great deal and the perfect place to start your exploration of the real New York!

The space was perfect for the 3 kids and I. A bedroom and a very comfy air mattress for 2 of the kids to sleep on that tucked away nicely in the AM. KItchen & bathroom to share with our host so we could have breakfast and/or lunch in house & snacks available for hungry teen boys. The location was amazing for food, subway, shops, walking, Prospect park, getting to Manhattan, and my favorite: friendly AM coffee at the corner store with nice people to chat with! Kevin was a gift! When we arrived he was on the street to greet us and give us all big welcome hugs. Could not have asked for a nicer man, easier to get along with, and helpful with our questions. Big hugs when we left too. If I go back to Brooklyn... this IS where we will stay. Loved the Bonsai gardens.

Kevin was a friendly host and had great communication. His place is in the heart of Brooklyn with less than a 10 minute walk to the Barclay's Center. I would definitely recommend this AirBnb

Really enjoyed our stay. It was nice to be so close to the sights of Manhattan and able to return this beautiful apartment in a lovely neighborhood. Enjoyed strolling around the shops and restaurants as well as Prospect Park. Kevin is an excellent host, going out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay.

Kevin User ProfileKevin is a superhost.

I am an easygoing Michigander who moved to Brooklyn from a small town in Montana (1500people) 5 years ago. I love it! There is so much to see and do.

I am just starting my second year as an airb host and I only have fond memories of my first! I like to think I specialize in hosting foreign guests, but my honest, straightforward, mid-western upbringing keeps me well rounded. Just ask my Mother:) I was fortunate to have traveled the world in my 20"s and 30's and now I really enjoy having the world come to me. I genuinely love being a host! A guest (and now a friend) from Northern Ireland wrote, "This guy embodies the spirit of AirBnB" I'm flattered by this and I hope it is true.

I recently graduated from Brooklyn College and I'm now certified to teach kindergarten through the 6th grade in the state of New York. I'm looking forward to the challenge!

Oh yeah, I'm also into Bonsai (miniature trees)! I guess, possessed by it would be a more accurate description? I have close to 100 trees at this location and another 800 or so at my nursery in Michigan.
