A truly amazing space! This large bedroom w private living room, 1st FLOOR apt is the best value in Park Slope! The vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors are just the tip. Large south facing windows open up to the greatest neighborhood in NYC!

The Space

2 Large rooms on the 1st Floor!
I always enjoy when my guests arrive because they are constantly impressed by the size of the space! The bedroom and the living room are both included and are separated by French doors with thick curtains, which allow for a dark and quiet sleeping experience. The sizeable living room has 3 enormous, south facing windows that let in the sun, sights and sounds of Park Slope (the best neighborhood in NYC).

There is a queen bed in one of the rooms and plenty of room for an air mattress which I have on site.
*Check-in/out time is very flexible, and if your departure is late, feel free to keep your luggage at my place while you take your time in the city!
* I will give you keys so you can come and go as you choose.

About the apartment:
-- First floor
-- Private bedroom with clean sheets, empty drawers and a large closet with hangers
-- Queen size bed (very comfortable)
--Private Living Room
-- Fios WiFi ( Extremely fast)
-- Air conditioning
-- Cable TV
-- Coffee maker
-- 1 bathroom with clean towels and hair dryer.
The shower is all yours. I shower at the gym.

Transportation and parking:
Perhaps the best aspect of this space is it's proximity to EVERYTHING! Within a 15 minute walk to every subway in the city, plus the Long Island Railroad, but only 2 blocks to the R train, 5 short blocks from Q and B trains at 7th ave and 6 short blocks from 2 and 3 trains at Bergan or Grand Army Plaza
-- 3 quick train stops away from Manhattan (Canal St. in Chinatown).
-- Q & B express train gets you to Central Park, Carnegie Hall, Times Square/Midtown, Macy's, Empire State Building all within 30-40 minutes.
-- Free street parking. I have a car and I never have a problem finding a spot close to the house! Street cleaning is only once a week, a million times easier to park here than in manhattan!

The area:
-- Q and B trains are three stops away from Manhattan
-- Steps to Prospect Park, Brooklyn Museum, Botanic Garden, Zoo, farmers markets
-- Safe residential street close to everything.
-- Abundance of shops and GREAT restaurants (some of the best in the city) a stones throw away!
-- vegetarian and vegan restaurants as well.
-- 3 different Grocery stores are around the corner so you can cook at home and save your $ for other things.
-- Laundromat with affordable drop off and pick up services less than a 1/2 a block away (or you can do it yourself)
-- very diverse and progressive neighborhood, all ages and cultures living in harmony.
-- walking distance or short train ride to Brooklyn Heights & its promenade, Brooklyn Bridge walkway and Park, DUMBO, Barclay Center / Atlantic mall, Greenwood cemetery, Brooklyn's China Town, Cobble Hill and so much more!

Guest Access

I encourage my guests to immediately feel at home! I want them to feel a connection to the neighborhood, the space and everything in it!
Guests will have access to the kitchen, all pots pans, the refrigerator etc...
The Bathroom is huge by NY standards and since I use the shower at the gym, I am never in the way!
It is my #1 concern that my guests have complete access to the bathroom at all times!

Interaction with Guests

I am extremely outgoing, but once the formalities are out of the way, I leave the interaction time to my guests. I make myself available for any questions, recommendations, or concerns, without interfering with their stay. I've had guests that I've shared dinners with and I've had others that preferred to be left alone. My only concern is the comfort of my guests for the duration of their stay!

The Neighborhood

After 5 years in this apartment I am still blown away by this neighborhood and It's location! The beautiful brownstones that line the streets give Park Slope a very historical and calming feel. It is hard to believe that Maximum City is only 3 stops away! The feeling I get when I return from a day in Manhattan is priceless! I wouldn't trade the calming aspect of Park Slope, or Brooklyn for that matter, for anything. They can keep Manhattan, because Brooklyn is where it's at!

  • Kevin is an awesome AirBnB host! Within a day we felt like we had known him forever. The space is huge and the location simply cannot be beat for the price. It's convenient to shops and restaurants and a short walk to the subway.

  • The apartment has a real New York-Brooklyn feel, beautiful light and the surprise of many bonsais, a comfy bed and lots of privacy. Very nice, live neighborhood, several places to eat and shop around, near several train lines, a close walk to Prospect Park. I haven't met Kevin in person but all contacts were super friendly and easy.

  • We stayed at Kevin's apartment for about a week this April and had a great time. Communication with Kevin was very easy, he was super responsive prior to and throughout our stay.
The room, actually the two rooms, are very spacious, exactly as described and perfect for two people.
The area is fantastic, lots of shopping, great bars and restaurants, as well as Prospect Park, right around the corner. Try Rose Water which (email hidden), just across 6th Ave.

  • We enjoyed the stay in Kevin's apartment. The two rooms are spacious and inviting, the neighborhood was great, too, and we came along very well with the host, Kevin. Highly recommended. Nice collection of bonsai trees.

  • We stayed with Kevin when we were in the middle of moving to our new apartment in the same neighborhood. Kevin is really friendly and kind. His apartment was clean and just as described. We would definitely recommend his place. Great price for the location.

  • Kevin was easy to communicate with before arrival, had the room ready to go, and shared access to everything we needed, bathroom and food storage. We slept well each night and would be happy to stay with him again anytime in Brooklyn.

  • Kevin was a very warm, down-to-earth host and made me feel like I was at home. The bedroom is very dark which is nice for catching up on minus several days of sleep. The lighting in the daytime is also good. Oh, and the space is HUGE! I definitely would stay here again. The location is also convenient for getting around the city or grabbing a bite.

  • We had a wonderful stay with Kevin! He is a great host. We had everything we needed and the room was perfect. His place is in a great neighborhood and very convenient to the subway. Just a great place to stay when visiting NYC!

I am an easygoing Michigander who moved to Brooklyn from a small town in Montana (1500people) 5 years ago. I love it! There is so much to see and do. I am just starting my second year as an airb host and I only have fond memories of my first! I like to think I specialize in hosting foreign guests, but my honest, straightforward, mid-western upbringing keeps me well rounded. Just ask my Mother:) I was fortunate to have traveled the world in my 20"s and 30's and now I really enjoy having the world come to me. I genuinely love being a host! A guest (and now a friend) from Northern Ireland wrote, "This guy embodies the spirit of AirBnB" I'm flattered by this and I hope it is true. I recently graduated from Brooklyn College and I'm now certified to teach kindergarten through the 6th grade in the state of New York. I'm looking forward to the challenge! Oh yeah, I'm also into Bonsai (miniature trees)! I guess, possessed by it would be a more accurate description? I have close to 100 trees at this location and another 800 or so at my nursery in Michigan.
