About This Listing
Wooden, airey cabana with curvey crinkly tin roof and fireplace and lovely garden in walking distance of beach and pueblo.
Architect designed double height timber house with a curved crinkly tin roof, open fire, one double bedroom and a mezzanine which can sleep two. There is a main living space with kitchen, dining and living area which you enter from the front deck where there is the parilla - the traditional BBQ area. Much of the furniture in the house is designed by a local artisan with the sofa made of twisted acacia branches.
The house is a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of town and a similar distance from 3 of the 4 main beaches in the town. The nearest corner store is a 5 - 10 minute walk.
The bus terminal is a 20 minute walk out of town. This is where the buses stop from December to Easter. The rest of the time the nearest bus stop is a 10 minute walk to the main road.
Guests have access to all parts of the house.
We loved our stay at Kurve Cabanas. The house was very cozy and was really well equipped. Perfect place to relax and have a nice time surrounded by nature. Several beaches were just 10 min walk away from the house. The host, Katherine, was extremely nice. Always available to help when it was needed. Don't look any further if you want to spend some days in Punta Del Diablo, just stay at Kurve Cabanas.
Recomendo.
We had the most fantastic time in Punta del Diablo and Katherine's home and hospitality was a major factor in our enjoyment. We stayed in the Kurve Kabana and it was the perfect place for a beach stay. It was bright, clean and airy and a short walk from the best beach in Punta del Diablo and the town centre. Katherine was a gracious, friendly and helpful host and we are thankful for her help in making our stay so awesome!
Katherine was away during our stay, but she arranged to have friends pick us up at the bus station, give us maps and suggestions, and look after us. They were super helpful! There was a issue with the wifi because of some storms, which Katherine took care of immediately even though she was away.
The house is beautiful - airy, clean and well equipped, with amazing landscaping and gardens. It's on a peaceful street near a few good restos. Of all the beaches, it's closest to the playa grande, which was the nicest beach of them all. We really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks Katherine!

About the Host, Katherine
I am an English architect who gave up the London life 5 years ago to come travelling in South America. One thing led to another and I ended up in Punta del Diablo on the coast of Uruguay. Previously I had travelled a large proportion of the world with South America being my last and in a way final continent.
I have designed and built my own houses and I am now trying to establish a garden in the challenging sand and sea climate. In addition to renting out my house I also make postcards of my photos, design t-shirts and organise horse riding on the beach here in Punta del Diablo. One day I will get on with painting and silver jewellery making but the manana culture somehow slows these things down! That's my excuse anyway!
I can help you with your travel plans for Uruguay and Argentina and other South American countries as well as how to make the most out of your time in Punta del Diablo.I can advise you on what to see in addition to our fantastic beaches, where to eat, drink and have fun as well as assisting in arranging activities such as horse riding, surfing, yoga, zumba, massage and Spanish classes. If you have any other interests I can try and see what can be organsied.
