Interaction with Guests
We take our cues from the guests, usually have conversation while serving brkfast and when showing you around when you arrive - kind of the joy of a B & B!
Very rural neighborhood, very quiet, not far off a paved road, well maintained roads, see the stars at night, sled, ski, or snow shoe from the door. A few local farms where we can get fresh eggs, meat, flowers and melons in season.
We will meet Amtrak in Montpelier or you can pick up rental car their or at airport in Burlington. Minimal bus services.
Other Things to Note
Write to us for exact directions from anywhere.
No indoor smoking. Parking in graveled driveway. Common sense amount of care for antique furniture/wooden surfaces. Showers before hot tub. Shut the door tight in winter - Get instructions from one of us before attempting to load the stone wood stove -- that's about it -- well, it's a "green" inn - so we'd assume you are already into turning off the lights when you are out!
Judith and Jay were great hosts! They greeted us when we arrived and got us settled in. They have a very nice hot tub that we enjoyed later in the night. Breakfast was amazing; Jay's scones and the soufflé were unexpected, but one of the best meals I had on my whole trip. Before leaving, we even got to meet all of the animals up close. Overall, it was a great stay.
We really really loved staying with Jude and Jay. They were lovely and accommodating, and the house and property is just so beautiful. The breakfast was divine and huge. We enjoyed relaxing at the house, in particular watching the ducks go about their pertinent business, and exploring Montpelier and the surrounding countryside. We can't wait to come back!
We adore is place.. Jude and Jay are extremely warm hosts who have made our stay comfortable and enjoyable.. The breakfasts are amazing too!!
Judith and Jay were incredible hosts. Very accommodating and available of their time.
The place is beautiful, peaceful and quiet. We felt like home as soon as we arrived.
Can't wait to go back during the Winter season.
We loved it! It was a little hard to find, but well worth the trip! Amazing room, with a view. The hottub hit the spot after skiing, and the breakfasts were amazing.. The hosts are really sweet and interesting to talk to. Very cozy livingroom was great for reading and quiet. Will definitely be back
