About this listing
Our little studio on the hill is the perfect place to land if you're looking for a true San Francisco experience.
Welcome to our cozy studio apartment in sunny San Francisco. On the ground floor of a classic San Francisco complex (built in 1908), you can truly enjoy the good life from this convenient little nook! Enjoy the cozy bed, DVDs, and an array of art books and fiction. Brew coffee in the morning from a local roaster, pick up some essentials for breakfast (full access to kitchen), or take a walk to a nearby cafe. At the peak of historic Nob Hill, you're surrounded by local attractions: Cable Car Line, Grace Cathedral, The Fairmont Hotel, Mark Hopkins Hotel, Huntington Park, Van Ness Avenue. Located perfectly in the center of the city, you can walk to any neighborhood: charming North Beach (SF's "Little Italy"), bustling Downtown, Embarcadero (historic Ferry Building), Fisherman's Wharf, SOMA (AT&T Ballpark), Marina (Fort Mason), Pacific Heights, & Fillmore (Alamo Square, Painted Ladies). Muni lines, providing access to anywhere in the city, are all within a few blocks, as well as BART and the streetcar just a short walk down the hill. Plus, we're natives, so if you need any assistance or recommendations, just ask!
Spend a getaway weekend in our urban oasis: secluded from the hustle and bustle of this happening city, you will love your stay in our rustic chic studio apartment.
You have access to the entire studio apartment, including the kitchen and bathroom.
Interaction with Guests
We will coordinate with you a few days before you stay via email. We like to meet you at the studio in person to check you in and show you around, then we leave the place to you.
Our block is quiet, but our neighborhood is bustling: the historic Nob Hill
The apartment (and the entire city) is very walkable. But if you would rather get around faster, Muni 1-line picks up on our block to take you as far east at the Richmond District (45 minutes) and as far west as Embarcadero (10 minutes). BART is also down the hill, about a 20-minute walk or a $9 cab ride.
We hope you'll treat our home as you would your own: respect the space and clean up after yourself. If you would like to cook, Le Beau Market is right across the street: feel free to pick up some groceries! If you need to do laundry, there's a laundromat across the street, too. Also, please be respectful of neighbors & street/sidewalk traffic.
All good! Nice place with character, accurately described by Allie and Jason. Good central location with buses and shops nearby. Excellent communication with Allie and Jason - thoroughly recommended.
Great host, was very responsive and accomodating wrt. my checkin needs. Studio has really interesting decor and is in a great location.
I stayed at Allie and Jason's place for two nights and really glad I did. It's a lovely area that's safe and had an amazing deli/supermarket across the road. The tram runs up the hill right past the apartment and the cable car/trolley runs to a corner close by. The apartment has everything you need for a stay in San Fransisco, with a fully stocked kitchen and beautiful books and artwork everywhere. The only thing I missed was a TV but as it was a short stay it wasn't too bad. Allie and Jason were lovely to deal with and were really flexible with my checkout time which was much appreciated! Had a great time and would recommend staying here.
Great apartment with wonderful style! I stayed for 2 nights while attending a conference at the Moscone Center (about 1 mile away), and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Allie & Jason were great & friendly hosts, meeting me at the apartment exactly as planned. I would definitely stay again.
Super convenient spot, right in the heart of it all. Allie was gracious, friendly, and prompt. The book collection itself requires another visit to soak up. I'll be back.
This little studio was ideal for me. I loved sitting at the table next to the kitchen window and watching the world go by on the sidewalk. The laundromat across the street came in handy, as did the market on the corner. But my favorite thing about this space was the books. If I had to fill my bookshelves from scratch, I'd start with Allie and Jason's collection.
I had a nice stay.
The pros: Allie was great, met me at SFO coming off a late flight which was greatly appreciated. This is a clean and simple studio with quick access to Chinatown and other nearby destinations. I enjoyed having a well-stocked kitchen (all the pots, plates, and gadgets you'd need) where I could cook breakfast or dinner. Store across the street is super great and handy with lots of nice produce and groceries. Bonus was lots of great reading material that clearly is curated by the writer/host.
The cons: I'm a light sleeper so the early (like 3am) morning garbage and recycling pickups woke me a couple times. Radiator can be a bit "bongo drum" like at times too (but more a building issue).
