Stratton mountain is right at your toes with a babbling brook turned raging river in the Spring! Beautiful woods & trails to explore. Stunning ridge line off the ski trails of Magic Mnt!! Close to town for quick shopping & coffee shops! Xcountry ski or snowshoe or walk our groomed trails!! FAST WiFi, nature lovers & a birdwatchers paradise!! @bentapplefarm

The space
This cabin sits on its own piece of property between a few giant pine trees overlooking a beautiful stream, a vintage barn and a view of Stratton mountain!! Stunning sunsets and a walking path or Xcounty ski trail right out your door and into the woods!

Guest access
Beautiful fields, streams and woods to explore! You can play down by the dipping stream or hike into the woods. Our little river can appear to be very small, calm and soothing...However please be careful as this little oasis can turn to rapids after a heavy rainfall especially in the Spring.

Mountains - Magic Mountain is just 5 min from the house. Enjoy steep skiing and challenging mountain biking! Stratton and Bromley are just a little further away if it's golf or a resort feel & a cute little ski town you are after!! Okemo and Mount Snow are a little further but awesome too!!

Restaurants - Don't get me started!! Fancy? Solo Farm & Table, Silver Fork, Simon Pearce, Misterals, Dorset Inn, The Reluctant Panther Inn & Restaurant

Chill Food - New American Grill, Jake's, Honeypie, Red Slate, Black Tavern, Mulligans, Downtown Grocery, Seesaws...That list is long feel free to ask me for more!

Farms - So many but Taylor Farm is our closest and we love em!!

Breakfast - Maple Leaf, New American Grill, Ungrounded Coffee, Up For Breakfast...

Hammocks - You have two hammocks! One by the stream a little tiny walk from the cabin and another directly below the treehouse.

Grilling - you have a nice Weber grill right out the back door on the porch. Be sure it's turned off after use. The tank underneath should be turned off as well as the burners. Do not put the cover back on if the grill is hot.

Swimming - you can take a dip right in the stream or you can head to any of these spots right nearby. Read all signage as these spots can become dangerous in Spring or during serious rain events:

West River, Lowell Lake, Hamilton Falls, Peak Falls, Dorset Quarry, Emerald Lake, Gale Meadows, Hapgood Pond to name a few!!

Other things to note
IMPORTANT

No open flames of any kind on the porch or in the cabin. No exceptions on this.

No motor vehicles are allowed in the field. We go to great lengths to keep this field looking beautiful as can be!!

Always ask for help before assuming something is broken…Most likely there is a quick fix!

WHAT TO BRING...

-Bring extra towels for the hot tub and sauna! We have you covered for regular bathroom towels.

-Pack warm! VT can get chilly even in the sunny months when the sun goes down!

-Pack a good pair of boots.

-Keep in mind we clean out the kitchen of just about everything between guests so please bring spices and even cooking oils.

-Bring a bag of ice. We have a double drawer fridge in the cabin and a cooler by the hot tub you can use for any frozen items.

-bring at least two bundles of wood for the outside fire pit.

Sauna:

To turn on a Finlandia Sauna heater by Harvia, typically you need to locate the timer knob on the control panel and turn it past the "3" setting, then back to the large
"I" position to initiate the heating cycle; this will activate the heater for a set duration, usually around 60 minutes depending on your model. Be sure the other dial is set to MAX!

Hot tub:

Be absolutely sure to shower before and after you take a hot tub dip. If you get in with ANY lotion on your body the hot tub will be really nasty and we don't want that!! Showering after and being sure the cover is back on the tub is also important. These 110v units SHOULD NOT be turned down. The temp must stay set at 104 or the tub will not heat back up again during your stay.

Thanks for abiding by these simple rules. This makes for a great stay and keeps me from coming over during your vacation.
