I'm a Native New Yorker with a room to spare! I'm a licensed tour guide with a deep passion for food, beverage and sharing my love of my home with others.
I've been living in my apartment for 6 years now and I absolutely love the area, the building and the space. With my experience in hospitality over the last 8 years (4 of which were at the Hyatt) you'll be in the best of hands and in my home.
It's a classic New York apartment, which is great for the full experience. I'll be sure to have coffee/tea available for you every weekday morning (8am-10am) as well as a continental breakfast. You're also more than welcome to use all appliances, as long as you do so with respect and clean your dishes after you've used them.
Whatever it is you're looking for I would say I've got you covered. You want a real New York Experience? Then look no further! Please contact me for more information, I look forward to getting to know you!
You'll have your own private bedroom with a window, closet and full-size bed with two drawers. Clean linens will be provided upon your arrival, and will be washed weekly if you choose to stay beyond a week. You'll have access to the kitchen and living room, and the bathroom with a great claw-foot tub. There is wi-fi available and you'll have access to the TV as long as I'm not watching something...but it's New York City! Why are you watching TV?
Interaction with Guests
My schedule is unpredictable as I work in catering while I'm getting my food tour business going, so some days I'm home working on my business growth, and other days I might be working back-to-back 12-hour shifts. This means interactions will vary. I try to keep communications as open as possible and happy to answer any questions you may have when I'm around. We might even get to share some of our lives with one another, but I suppose it will depend on your schedule as well.
The neighborhood is a great, diverse and easily accessible. We've got a variety of great restaurants in the area, including: Italian, BBQ, Japanese Ramen, and Cuban. 2 blocks from the serene Riverside Park with Hudson River vistas that are great for peaceful walks or energizing runs. There are 3 supermarkets in the area, including the famous Fairway. I could also direct you to the historic landmark buildings in the area, like the gorgeous Riverside Church, Grant's Tomb, & Columbia University.
You're around the corner from the #1 subway line at 125th street and across the street from the crosstown bus that will take you to almost any other subway line you could be looking for.
Other Things to Note
The building is a beautiful pre-war with great charm and New York flavor. The neighbors are kind and friendly, which just adds to the beauty of the building. And a real rare find in NYC: there is a laundry room in the basement if you need it! There is an elevator, but the apartment is located on the 2nd floor, so you probably won't be using it much.
People often ask if the neighborhood is safe--I can tell you that I've never felt unsafe here in the 6 years that I've lived here as a single young woman, and I can't imagine why anyone would feel differently.
Guests must lock the door after themselves entering and exiting the apartment.
I expect that guests clean up after themselves and respect my home.
City recycling laws must be observed. Bringing unapproved guests back to the apartment is not acceptable.
Aside from the breakfast that will be left out for you and any food personally offered to you, the food in the house is not yours to take.
Loud music/TV after 10pm on any night is not appropriate.
Guests who are staying for 2 weeks or more will receive additional guidelines and information to make the stay seamless for all.
Clean room. Plenty of space for New York apartment. Welcoming host. Recommended.
The apartment was cosy and the room just like in the picture. Proximity to great areas around. Very accessible to the train which was very convenient. Hostess was most gracious & helpful with her knowledge of the area.
From the description in listing, I had no difficulty in finding the apartment. The neighbourhood is brilliant, and there is easy access to rest of Manhattan. The room where I stayed was nice and comfortable. Overall, it was a good experience.
The picture doesn't do the room justice. It's much bigger, with a closet and a spacious queen-sized bed that await you. Subway is 30 seconds walk and a quiet and safe neighrbourhood.
Best of all, the building has a lift and that's heavenly for big luggages and after shopping and sight-seeing for the whole day. trust me. you'll appreciate it.
Obviously can't compare to Upper East/west side apartments because of locality but I'd rather have the space and privacy.
Adrienne was a great host. She met me at the door, and made me feel right at home. The room was very clean, and the continental breakfast was awesome. Her place is in a great location, super convenient, and I was able to easily walk to my meetings down the block. I was afraid that being so close to the subway would be loud, but the fan in the window unit was perfect white noise and I slept great in the comfy bed. Also, her neighborhood is so full of fantastic food--Floridita was amazing. I'd love to visit again for a non-work trip, especially to attend one of Adrienne's New York food tours.
My stay at Adrienne's home was comfortable. Folks looking at visiting Columbia Business School can definitely consider staying here, its just a 7-10 min walk from here. The neighbourhood is safe and has restaurants serving indian (chapati house), chinese, mexican(el porto) , sushi food. The 1 train runs right next to her building & thats a convenient to get across new york. Her apartment is a busy house as she works from there too. For a person with a busy schedule ok with sharing the bathroom, and looking at having a good night sleep (a train passes every two minutes, it took me a few days to get used to it), one can look at staying here, Adrienne is a nice & a warm host.
Adrienne is a great host. I wasn't able to arrive till Friday evening and she rearranged her schedule to be there. Apartment is very cozy and room quite comfortable with ample space. Bed very comfortable. Room has lots of helpful books about NYC and Adrienne is a real Tour Guide so could answer any questions if you are new to the city. The building is a classic pre war, very secure and literally right next to the 125th Street # 1 Subway Train Station. Adrienne was available by phone or text to answer any questions. I would recommend this host for short or long stays. As she does Food Tours, why not try one. Host friendly and welcoming.

I absolutely love the Food & Beverage industry in this city. And I workout early in the mornings so that I can enjoy the various restaurants out there. I can't live without comedy and computers, but I do love me some time when I can just disconnect and enjoy the fresh air out there.
I love to travel but can't afford to for a while.
Most people that know me would say I make a great friend and the perfect host--I know hospitality and even more my city. I'm a Native to NYC with tons of interesting stories to share. Leading and teaching is something I do on a regular basis, but I also love to learn about different cultures and experiences.
