Apartment - Entire home/apt · Atlantic Park Road, Belair, St. Philip, Barbados

The Space

Forget the South or West coast! Too crowded, too hot, eroding beaches and way too expensive tourist trap. This spacious and clean house is located on the south east part of the island known for its cooling, Atlantic breeze. It's walking distance to the 4 most beautiful, uncrowded beaches. With its rugged, beautiful scenery the quiet and friendly Belair neighborhood is a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of the south and west coasts.

The apartment is on the ground floor of the brand new house. It has a private entrance from the garden, includes a living room, fully equipped kitchen and 2 full bathrooms as well as a luxurious outdoor shower with rain shower head.

ADDITIONAL AMENITIES:
Access to a wash machine.
2 boogie boards, 2 bikes, 2 yoga matts, cell phone with a local SIM card, beach chairs, safety deposit box, free internet, outdoor brick grill, outdoor hot & cold totally private shower.

LOCATION:
The home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood and is a 5 minute walk to the nearest beach. However the best beaches are 15-20 minutes away or 5-10 minutes by car. They include:
- Bottom Bay Beach (our favorite!)
- Crane Beach (very popular 5 star hotel, with great views)
- Foul Bay Beach
- Sam Lords Castle Beach
- Plus a few more secret beaches, which we're happy to share with you!
15 minute drive to the airport
20 minutes to Oistins Fish Market or the night life area: St. Lawrence Gap

ACT LIKE A LOCAL:
We have been coming to Barbados to many years now and are familiar with the best beaches and sight seeing. We have a map upon request, which highlights the best places to see. There is a small "Belair Variety Store" that has the basic groceries. Large and very well equipped Emerald City Supermarket is at Six Roads, 10 min away. Car is handy but not necessary. The bus stop is 2 min walk and the fare is $1.-.

The location is unique because it is away from the touristy areas of Barbados. Instead you'll find stunning beaches that have very few visitors but plenty of fresh coconuts to eat and drink. :)

  • St Philip is a great location if you want to live amongst the upper middle class locals, 30mins away from Bridgetown and near beaches and secret locations that tourists won't find. It quiet and this area we would walk up to to the Cliffs and the water you could see from the bedroom.
Jana is a great host, she is so sweet, kind, and pleasant and invited us in to her life. Ask her about the secret beaches you could visit during your stay! She is always similing and laughing and joking around. Locals love her, I would recommend this place :)
The place is well equipped with everything you need, in fact she let us borrow mats, beach towels, beach chairs which helped out a lot. The kitchen is comfy- had everything we need, supermarket is 10mins drive. bedrooms are comfy and airy. We had dinner and breakfast outside in the patio because the weather was great and we enjoyed the ocean breeze.

  • Jana is an excellent hostess. We had a wonderful time. The accommodations are exactly what one would expect on a tropical island. The patios are very nice and the kitchen is well-stocked with anything you need. If you are renting a car (and that is the best solution), finding the property the first time can be challenging because the roads in Barbados are not well-marked. Get a good map because the roads wind in every direction; however, once you figure out the way, it is fairly easy to locate. Close to the ocean (within walking distance) and some very nice beaches. Grocery stores and gas station are nearby. This apartment is ideal for those who want to experience Barbados away from the typical tourist scene. However, with a car, you can be in Bridgetown in about 30 minutes. Although we did not take advantage, there is excellent bus service between the area and Bridgetown, if driving is not your thing. Jana is very friendly and will go out of her way to ensure that your stay is enjoyable.

  • This house in the South /South-Eastern area of Barbados - a far less touristic area than the West Coast. The house is walking distance from Long Beach. The sandy beaches we found in that area are beautiful, some very quiet but not for inexperienced swimmers due to the rough waves. We highly recommend Long Beach, Crane Beach and Cave Bay Beach. If you plan to do some sight seeing other parts of the island be sure to get a GPS or bring an experienced map reader and be sure to have plenty of time as some of the roads are slow going and undergoing construction.

  • My husband and I stayed a week at Jana's Apartment in Barbados. We unfortunately did not get to meet Jana but she arranged a rental car for us and for us to be escorted to the home from the airport. The place was very clean, spacious, and located in a beautifully quiet neighborhood with the gorgeous ocean view just a stones throw away. The apartment had all amenities one would need from home and then some. Jana and her house keeper were very easy to contact and very responsive.

  • This is the perfect place to truly get away... It is the quietest place I have ever stayed and a great antidote to urban stress. The apartment is clean and attractive, with a fully furnished kitchen, washing machine, and many other perks. Jana is a wonderful host who went to great lengths to find a foam mattress topper for me after I injured my back. She was out of town during our stay but was available by email and had a friend help us get settled.
The apartment is very close to the bus stop and we initially did not plan to rent a car but realized it would be an asset for getting groceries and getting to the west coast much faster. Jana's lovely friend facitated car rental arrangements for us, took us to get the necessary permits and even loaned us her GPS.
We were sorry not to meet Jana in person but we felt her warmth and concern that we had everything we needed.
