  • Loved staying with Patty and family and learning about permaculture.

  • It was our anniversary and we were coming by late at 8pm and Patty had dinner and dessert ready for us. Patty came by to make sure we were all set up in the trailer and came by again in the morning to make sure we could work the stove or any thing else in the trailer. Being our anniversary Patty helped arrange a little succulent arrangement for my girlfriend and offered to pick up wine, etc. and was great about offering suggestions for the area. She was in constant communication before arrival and on check in day reminded me of the things she stocked in her trailer and the closest place to get groceries in case we wanted anything else. We both found Patty extremely hospitable and sweet. Because we came late on check in day she gave us a tour of her property departure day and got to hang out with her, her daughter Juliette, the dogs and the chickens. We didn't get to meet Ray since he was out helping and lending his expertise on mushroom growing but Patty made time to chat with us well into the day and we appreciated her pleasant company. Cozy stay, great cook, and wonderful host. Thank you.

Thanks so much for a such a great review, I can't say enough about the two of you either....total gems, both of you!!! You were both so fun to talk to, and I thoroughly enjoyed your humor and ease. You are a delightful couple! Thank you for coming to spend your special day with us.

  • Patty & I were in constant communication by phone, email, text & thru the Airbnb site - we had several logistics to work thru as there was a hot water problem at the trailer & she offered a discount for our stay there, then it snowed (!) and we weren't sure if our rental car would make it. All worked out, there WAS hot water and there WAS NOT snow. We arrived around 8pm and had no trouble with the directions Patty provided on the Airbnb site - the trailer is beautifully situated & well-stocked. It was heated adequately and we had a comfortable good sleep. Patty had oatmeal, coffee, OJ, fruit, almond milk, spices & cooking oil, bagels - we had brought food with us but we were grateful to be made so welcome. We met Patty & Ray and glimpsed Juliette in the doorway, and had a fantastic talk with Patty about her vision for the land and their work in keeping people healthy & whole. In the morning, we got up early and got a look around, the sunrise was fantastic right from the window of the trailer. We were trying to get to Wilbur Hot Springs for 10am and started out a bit late so didn't even get to see Patty & Ray as we left, but we did put our thoughts down in their guest register. A wonderful location, great hosts - I would recommend this to all travelers, and we'll make sure to come again! Thanks Patty & Ray!

  • Cozy Trailer :). Sweet spot in Lower lake to be out in nature. It is a super peaceful place. Patty, Ray and their little girl are friendly and really helpful. They love animals and were really sweet to my dog Bo. I saw deer, turkeys, a red, full moon over the mountain, and heard coyotes. I forgot to ask for a mushroom sampling though so I'l have to come back!!!

  • An adventure indeed in a good way as long as you are open to a more rustic experience. Make sure to get directions from Patty ahead of time and don't rely on your phone/gps working in this remote area. My Verizon service was intermitent yet I was still able to navigate using the (website hidden) Maps link Patty sent over. Your mileage may vary.

The camper trailer is older but very well maintained and very clean. Kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, silverware, and even some basic spices and cooking supplies. There was oatmeal and eggs for a basic breakfast which we enjoyed.

The bed is comfortable and the trailer heater worked really good to keep us warm. However if you are very tall it may be a little small. Same with the bathroom/shower. Its pretty tight like on a cruise ship. Since I am only 5'8 I had to problem. The hot water worked great most of the time. There is some kind off shut off timer on the water heater which turns off the heat after 15 min. In our experience it seemed sooner than that. But after a short wait it turns back on. So it was only a minor inconvenience. The composting toilet is a unique experience and very easy to use with no smell if you follow Patty's simple instructions.

The farm itself is really interesting with various projects in progress. The camper is well situated with a valley view, awesome stars at night and amazing sunrises which are easily enjoyed right from the camper window.

Patty and Ray are great hosts and have an adorable little daughter Juliette. They make you feel like you are part of the family from the first interaction. Patty even lit a candle for us and put fresh wildflowers on the table. I recommend this spot to anyone looking for a unique country/hippy style adventure.

  • We totally echo what everyone has said below---the camper is well-stocked and comfortable, Patty and her family are delightful, and the location is serene. The sunrise is something to behold, and the stars are magical. This is definitely a unique getaway, and we had a lot of fun!

  • This was one of the most wonderful vacations I've ever had. The land was beautiful--so healing to be there. The camper was very comfortable, and so cozy in the cool nights. Waking up to the sunrise over the trees and hills was heavenly. I spent time walking, drove out to a nearby lake and swam, read and wrote, and sat in the forest, contemplating the generosity of this family in opening their home to those like me who crave being in nature. And spending some time getting to know them was the true highlight of my trip.

  • Nice, cozy RV in quite good condition. The bathroom, kitchen had more than what we expected.

Perhaps the best part of the stay was getting to know Ray, Patty and Juliette. Wonderful, warm people..

If you go with it, make sure to get Patty's stir-fry dish for dinner. Fresh food... incredible sauces! Highly recommended!

  • Our time at the RV was great! It's far out in the countryside and it really feels like camping, yet there's lots of interesting stuff to explore around (wineries, Clear Lake, and the geological wonders of Borax Lake and Sulphur Mercury Mine). At night, the stars are beautiful--you can see the Milky Way and plenty of shooting stars and even satellites.

Patricia was a very friendly host and cooked us a delicious dinner for just a little bit extra. She helped us to feel at home in her RV. Thanks for the wonderful time!

  • We felt very warmly welcomed by Patty. She gave us everything we needed for our stay and even gave us a couple pieces of her homemade mushroom chocolate. The RV was homey, and the compost toilet was awesome and odorless! The area is spectacular. Patty gave us directions to a nearby waterfall, and we also did a lot of relaxing at Harbin Hot Springs. I would definitely recommend the whole experience!

Serena, thank you both very much! I am delighted you enjoyed the chocolate. And that you found your way around Lake County and had a chance to explore some of it.
    Cheers and happy trails!
