Interaction with Guests
Andrea, Giovanna and Paolo will greet you to make sure all is just right, then will offer tons of suggestions on how to make the best of your stay, and will be reachable in case of need.
It is the perfect starting place for an exploration of real Tuscany (Firenze, Cortona, Arezzo, Siena, Chianti).
Also an ideal retreat for the inspired artist, a writer longing for "a room of one's own", the weary businessman, the family with children determined to stay clear of the touristy crowds. The town is a total charmer: enclosed in the ancient walls of the old castle, it offers shelter from the real world, yet contains all the treats you would want, beginning with top notch cafe', small restaurants, homey pizzerias, and pastry right at your doorstep. Weekly veggie market, hills and olive groves all around. The backdrop of the world famous MONNALISA is a depiction of what you'll see looking out of your balcony.

We had a wonderful stay in San Donato in Collina with Majla. The tower was absolutely beautiful and quiet, with personal touches that made it inviting and cozy. We worked with Majla, as we had originally booked a different stay with them, but unfortunately the heat was not yet fixed, so they offered us the tower to stay in. It's a great location with beautiful views and convenient to everything, including the Autostrade. Communication was easy, and like I said, the place was wonderful. We almost wish we were able to stay longer!
These holidays were a truly wonderful expeience. We were welcomed by Andrea who took the time to show us around and gave us some tips so that we can enjoy our stay.
Castelfranco is a nice quiet village : everything you want is at your doorstep. The feeling is really special, the house is very clean. I stayed there with my whole family (parents and grandparents) and everyone loved the house. The kitchen is perfect if you want to cook yourself. There is a market on the friday morning.
You're very close to everything that matters in Tuscany : Chianti, Siena, Pisa, Arezzo, Firenze (very easy with the train !). There are plenty that you can do and the location at Majla's home is very nice because you're in the middle of everything.
Rapolano Terme and the market in San Giovanni Val d'Arno is highly recommended if you want to stay in Castelfranco. You also have to go to Certignano factory where a very nice lady will welcome you (olive oil and wine tasting).
As a matter fact, I highly recommand this place if you want to enjoy Tuscany. You will need a car but don't worry, there is a free parking down the house and the village is very quiet so you won't have to fear that something bad happens to your car.
The reservation was canceled 37 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Fantastic place, real feeling of Italy in a very sweet town. Before our trip Majla answered all our questions and on arrival Andrea took the time to give us some advice about the places to visit. We've had a great week!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Andrea for the great accommodation and the wonderful time we had again in Castelfranco di Sopra thank you. A really nice and quiet town with very nice residents. Due to the location it is ideal for trips to Florence, Siena, Pisa and Livorno. Moreover Tips from Andrea for excursions in the area who were very helpful. Greetings from Hamburg, Henrike, Daniel, Jan and Lilly. We will come back.
We had a great time during our stay in Castelfranco di Sopra. Majla and her cousin, Andrea, were more than kind and they helped us a lot.

About the Host, Majla Francesca
My children are the 6th generation in this medieval villa, and when our budget doesn't allow us to travel, we like a little bit of the world to come to us. My grandfather - a personal hero of mine - hid and saved many lives (often complete strangers, and foreigners), from the fury of the Fascists and Nazis during WW2, in the many nooks and crannies of this old home; and this has created in his heirs a tradition of opening this home to strangers.
I am more hospitable than impeccable...
One of my favourite quotes is: "if you don't believe in connections, you miss them".
I recently wrote a book about happiness.
My husband Marco is a retired professional yachtsman, and now a talented and passionate cook.
