Beautiful, extremely private 1 bedroom apt located in the heart of Union Sq. If you are looking for location and convenience this apt simply cannot be beat. The apt is located 1 block west of Union Sq between 5th and 6th Avenues. Proximity to fantastic shopping, great restaurants, numerous cafes and 3 cinemas. Union Sq is also host to the fabulous Farmers Market 4 days a week as well as Trader Joes' and Whole Foods. The Apt is a short walk away from Chelsea and Greenwich Village. The apt is convenient to transportation with all major subways located within a block or two. The F and V trains are just on the corner.
The apt is bright and colorful with hardwood floors and various art works gracing the walls. It opens up onto a large plan living room/ kitchen with many areas separating the space, offering guests ample room to relax and unwind. There is a large skylight in the living room flooding the apt with natural light and as well a nonworking fireplace lending additional charm and coziness to the apt. The apt is located on the top floor of a 4 story walk up so for those seeking privacy and absolute solitude it is well worth the effort. The apt faces North and is in the back of the building so it is very quiet and much of the city noises are blocked out. At times it is almost hard to believe one is in NYC as often only the sound of birds can be heard.
There are two large windows in the living room facing north and there is one large window in the bedroom. If one is a reader there is a library next to the fireplace and numerous, comfy spots to spread out and lounge while whittling away the hrs. There is an office area in another corner of the living room with a large desk so is perfect for those needing to do a little work or catch up on correspondence while away. There is also complimentary high speed, wireless Internet. In addition there is a flat screen HDTV and a DVD player as well.
The bedroom is small but very cozy with extremely comfortable bed. There is a closet, window fan and fully stocked bookcase ... yet another perfect spot to unwind and nestle down with a good book and a glass of wine after a long day on the bustling city streets!
The apt comes fully equipped with clean sheets and towels, fully stocked kitchen ... juicer, Italian coffee press and blender included. There is a large butcher block table in kitchen with two bar stools perfect for sharing a glass of wine while preparing dinner.
I am looking for respectful, responsible, quiet guests who will treat my apt like their own. A minimum of one week is required. There is no smoking or pets allowed.
** For those staying longer than 2 weeks there is a bi -weekly cleaning fee of $50.
**From June through Sept there is a $50 a week added charge for the Air Conditioner.
If interested please do not hesitate to contact me for further information.
Simple .... Treat my apt as you would your own. Be mindful of noise esp in the hallways when walking up and down the stairs. Be considerate of my neighbors. And most of all ... relax, kickback and have a great stay at my apt!!
We stayed 4/5 days at Elisa's apartment one week (website hidden) was perfect from before our arrival to the end. Elisa contacted me to organize the keys transmission according to my schedule. The flat was neat and light, no bad surprise , corresponding to the pictures but even better!Everything was well organised, we felt at home! I would recommend both for Elisa's kindness and cares, and also for the apartment, location etc.
We have spent one week over New Year's at Elisa's beautiful appartment and were absolutely happy about everything - Elisa's cozy home was the greatest choice for us to stay in New York! It was a wonderful exerperience and we felt like home from the start. Elisa is a wonderful and very kind person with immensely positive energy and gave us a warm welcome, answered all questions and was so helpful! Communication and contact was perfect and very fast in advance - and also during the stay. The whole house and location are absolultely great - so close to getting around and we loved the atmosphere in the neighbourhood! Farmer's Market with fresh food at Union's Square - public transportation so close and many options to get around - great restaurants/cafés/shops! Lively surrounding but so quiet in the appartment, like on a little island - couldn't be any better.
The appartment itself is very cozy, warm and comfortable and everything is so beautiful with little details and such good taste - we would recommend it to everyone (for some 4th floor without elevator might be a thing)! We loved it and hope that we'll be able to return some day! Thanks a lot for this wonderful time at your appartement, Elisa!
My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay at Elisa's apartment, just shy of 3 months. It was true to the description. What I loved most about the place was how homey it was, and the location is absolutely perfect. Really close to the 2,3,F and M. Union Square is a few minutes walk so its easy to grab fresh food at the farmers market and check out the local art shows. Lots of light! A desk where you can work at right by the window.
For being in such a perfect location, you would be surprised at how quite it was. You have the benefit of windows and a nice view of trees and the charms of NY city, without the noise!
Elisa was always easy to reach and very accommodating if we needed to coordinate anything.
The apartment is 4 floors up which could be a pain to some people. I actually quite enjoyed the charm of a walk up.
I hosted Lauren and her fiance Ryan at my apt for 10 plus weeks. From the very first contact until the last, absoulty everything with this couple was see less ... I truly could not have dreamed of better guests!!! They were an easy going couple, relaxed and quite positive ... their energy was infectious! Lauren was a great communicator, direct with her requests, quick to respond to my e-mails/texts and always so appreciative of anything I offered. My apt was left impeccably with not one thing out of place ... it was almost as if they were never there! Lauren and Ryan were an absoulte pleasure to host and I would highly recommned them to anyone considering them as guests.
We had a wonderful time at Elisa's place in Chelsea! It's a cozy, attractive, comfortable space, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. It has a huge comfy couch, a full-featured little kitchen, and secluded bedroom. The location cannot be beat - a block from Union Square, you can pretty much walk anywhere in Midtown or the Village, but Chelsea itself is surprisingly quiet, calm, and charming.
It's on the fourth floor, so you need to not be stair-phobic, and it is a Manhattan apartment so you don't have a ton of space for cooking, and there's no washer/dryer. But just do as the locals do, and make good use of the many eateries nearby (recommend the Hollywood Diner, Murray's Bagels, and 2 Bros Pizza!) and there are plenty of laundromats and dry cleaners within a block.
Elisa is delightful. She is the perfect host - friendly, knowledgeable, gracious, and a great communicator. She made us feel welcome when we arrived, and was always an email away.
It's such a nice place and we had such a nice time, we would've given it a full five starts except for one thing. In our stay (over a month), we saw several mice, and caught two in traps. Elisa did everything she could to address it after we reported seeing one - called an exterminator on short notice, and offered to pay for traps - so we can't fault her. But it definitely made our stay a bit less enjoyable, and we felt we had to mention it. Mice are always potentially a problem in old NY apartment buildings, and there's only so much you can do about it - something to be aware of in any NY AirBnb.
Elisa is a very kind person with positive energy. She welcomes you in her lovely apartment with a wonderful bouquet of refine flowers in a vase and shares coffee and a nice chat with you before getting into the details of moving in.
The place itself is perfectly quiet, with lot's of daylight and refine cosy feeling. The bathroom and kitchen are functional and clean, easy to use.The living room is spacious and warmly decorated, while the bedroom is nicely set up for good night sleeps.
If you have Mark Rothko paintings on the wall, you just can't go wrong! ;)
As for the area, it is wonderful to just go out and walk in any directions. On both ends of the street there's immediate access to the subways. Manhattan is exciting in so many ways as we all know! The Union square is just 5min away from the apartment. And on the same street there's a exquisite French Bakery, "Breads Bakery" where the sourdough bread and the mini chocolate croissants are fabulous!
As an international business student with very intensive courses, staying in Elisa's place for 6 weeks was a delight!
My parents had a wonderful, truly amazing time staying in this apartment. They told me many times that the apartment was cozy, comfortable and lovely and that the location was unbeatable. It was much better than staying in a hotel, they felt like New Yorkers!
Elisa is a wonderful host, she had the apartment super clean, with nice sheets and towels and was always very responsive. I hope we have a chance to repeat this great experience.
There is one thing to consider: the apartment is in a walk-up building. My parents are in their 60s and did it without complaints but just keep it in mind.
I really, really enjoyed staying in Elisa's apartment. Having lived in the West Village for ten years, it was great to be near my old haunts. The apartment was very comfortable and light. Perfectly situated between east and west side subway lines so very easy to get anywhere in the city. I would definitely recommend this apartment.
