It's SUMMER! Glamp in style at the farm's open-air cabin! Breathe deep of the forest air. The stone fireplace is stunning, the bunks sturdy, and the reading/talking space, lovely. No WiFi, no electricity, no problems! Enjoy the cabin and a walk on the farm. Gardenworks down below is open self-serve all week with upick cut flowers, vegetables, and BLUEBERRIES. The beautiful gift barn is open Thurs-Sun 9-5 and delicious weekend cafe is open June-October.

The space
The open-air, off grid cabin boasts 3 bunkbed platforms 2 with comfortable queen mattresses and 1 with a twin sized mattresses (beds sleep 5 adults), as well as “roof covered”hammock space, and room available for tents- we have an 8 person maximum to prevent parties. You will be greeted by a huge farm-family sized picnic table situated in front of the grand stone fireplace perfect for dining, family games and fun. The stone fireplace has a cooking arm with a cast iron pan provided. The trail to the cabin is about a 5min walk from the road and there is an additional trail through the woods for adventuring. An outdoor compost toilet is provided behind the cabin and mosquito nets are provided to hang over the bed to give you a "bug spray free" night of rest!

Follow us @tasteandseegardenworks for reels, videos and other images of the cabin including a full video of the walk from the car to the cabin with kiddos (about 5-10 minutes).

Guest access
You are welcome to access the trail and its surroundings to the cabin as well as walking along the open fields of the farm down below. We ask that you stay on the farm side of Black Creek as well as stay out of the grazing fence that is at the base of the cabin's hill where we have a bull grazing :). Signs are posted to indicate where to go or not go.

Other things to note
As a family we know finding a safe, affordable and enjoyable place to unplug and connect is hard to come by. We are trying to keep the cost of this stay under market value to help make the opportunity to connect with nature and taste and see its bounty as accessible as possible.

We anticipate you'll bring your own linens or sleeping bags but can provide them for $15/bed if you prefer. We have offered no cleaning fee for those that don't want or need laundry services and can offer it as an add on for those who do.

Please let us know if you would like to add on breakfast: baked oatmeal- blueberry banana, peanut butter banana, cherry coconut, or apple cinnamon and coffee and juice are options as well. Likewise we can offer a hearty soup or other entree option for dinner or lunch if we receive your reservation request with ample time to plan (we can try to make it happen if you request to stay a day before but it’s unlikely).

You may visit the farm's event page by clicking calendar of events at Gardenworks Farm .com to see about joining us for one of our many programs in which we share the information we have gained and are continuing to learn about the power of food as medicine.

Where you’ll be

Salem, New York, United States

Neighborhood highlights

The cabin is situated in the fertile Black Creek Valley of beautiful Washington County NY, about 15 minutes from the border of VT. There is a small hike onsite, and you will be staying on the historic 4th generation Gardenworks Farm which boasts a market selling its farms produce as well as other local farms, hosting pick your own organically grown berries and produce, a market-place for gift shopping and a cafe on the weekends. The small town of Salem, NY is 5 minutes away offering a lovely bakery and coffee shop (On a Limb Bakery) as well as a bar and restaurant for dinner and lunch service (Jacko's). You are 30 minutes from Merck Forest and Farmland Center for exquisite hiking, as 40minutes to many other top trails. We are also 45 minutes to the Saratoga Springs race tracks, shopping and night life as well as 45 minutes to Vermont skiing, dining and shopping of Manchester, Bennington and Dorset.

IMPORTANT: The cabin is situated up on a hillside. There will be about a 3-5min slight incline walk to get to the cabin. You will be parking across Route 30. Because you’ll be walking in, we recommend a backpack for carrying your belongings and not lots of ice chests or luggage. We have worked hard to provide the necessities we can think of for you at the cabin to minimize your 'stuff' carry. There are pillows, dishes for 4 as well as paper plates, soap, water, a composting outdoor bathroom with toilet paper, games, extra blankets, a tea pot, cast iron pot, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, lamps, and firewood/lighter, etc. If you discover something we could add, please let us know! That said, we anticipate you'll bring your own linens or sleeping bags but can provide them for $15/bed if you prefer. We have offered no cleaning fee for those that don't want the extra laundry service and can add it on for those who need it.

Lastly, we would be happy to offer plant-based meals for purchase: breakfast (hot oatmeal with the farm's maple syrup, baked oatmeal or overnight cool oatmeal with the farms berries, or several options for lunch or dinner). Indicate your interest in meals in your booking or request and we can send along menu options and a link for purchase.
