A recently decorated double bedroom within a traditional stone terraced cottage, situated at the top end of Loanhead village, just outside of The City of Edinburgh. This is the perfect location for hill walkers, outdoor enthusiasts or people who simply prefer to stay somewhere a little more quiet and relaxed, but with the added benefit of being just a stones throw away from the city.
A buffet style breakfast is provided on the kitchen trolly of cereal, bread, jam, butter, eggs, tea, coffee, milk and orange juice. Use of internet (WiFi), BluRay player with LCD Screen (located in the living room), linen and towels are all included in the price. The property also has double garage, that can be used for the storage of bicycles and outdoor equipment. A private carport parking at rear of property is available for visitors use. The kitchen includes patio doors leading to a private garden with decking and outdoor furniture.
The bathroom and living room is shared space with myself and my foster cat Tippi.

We had a wonderful experience staying with Katy in Edinburgh for Hogmanay. She was very helpful and quick to respond throughout the booking process, and made sure everything was in order for us when we arrived, even providing us with an extra number of someone we could contact, as she was away herself at the time. We had originally booked for two people, but when my friend's accommodation fell through at the last minute Katy kindly offered us the living room for her to stay in. Her cottage is lovely and has a very warm and cosy feel, and was a lot more spacious than expected. It's in a great location between the city and the Pentlands, so we enjoyed both during our stay! Katy and Craig made us feel right at home and we enjoyed spending time with them in the evening. It's wonderful to meet people who are so willing to open their home to others. We hope to come back and stay when we're next in Edinburgh!
Stayed here 3 weeks ago, 3 nights this week and here again in 3 weeks time. The accomodation is very comfortable and Katy very welcoming. Excellent value for money.
Katy was very welcoming and friendly. The room was good and the bed extremely warm and comfortable. There was plenty of choice for breakfast. We have already booked our next 2 visits to Edinburgh and will stay with Katy on both occasions, what more do we need to say?
Katy's accomodation is great, it was a pleasure staying there! Clean, very nice and the room was very lovely decorated! I enjoyed chatting with Katy, too. She gave some good travelling advices. Was also nice meeting her cute cat ;) *Perfect kick-off for our Scotland round trip*
Highly recommended place to stay. Myself and my brother enjoyed a comfortable stay in Katy's place. It was really easy to get into the city using the buses. The shops are a 5 min walk from her place which came in handy more than once. Edinburgh is a beautiful place to visit.
My boyfriend and I just moved to Edinburgh at the end of August and were fortunate to stay in Katy’s beautiful cottage while searching for a flat. We originally had only booked for 5 nights, but ended up staying longer due to not finding somewhere straight away. Katy was very understanding of our situation and was more than happy to accommodate us. It was quite a stressful time for us, moving to a new city and searching for somewhere to live; however, Katy’s place was like our refuge at the end of a long day! The cottage has everything you might need - the number 37 bus picks up straight out the front, and there is a huge Sainsburys up the road. It is also beautifully decorated – she really has an eye for design! Although I only got to meet Katy once, we were in contact many times throughout the week and she is only a phone call or message away if you need her. Like Katy herself, the cottage is very warm and welcoming, with a lovely homely vibe. We really enjoyed our stay at Mayburn Cottage (we actually miss it sometimes!) and couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
We didn't meet Katy in person, but she was very nice, helped us to find the place. The room was good, not far from the city center!
