Consigliabile x chi cerca qualita' a buon prezzo
I had a great time staying in this nicely set-up, comfortable room. The room comes with its own mini fridge and private bathroom, which was super nice and convenient.
The room was not far from Termini Station, only a few stops away on the tram.
Gigi was an excellent host. He welcomed me with a big smile and loads of crucial information on how to get around, restaurant and stores nearby, and a map of all the tourist spots.
I highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a place to relax after a long day of sightseeing.
Thank you, Gigi! I will definitely be back!
My boyfriend and I stayed in the room for 5 nights, including New Years Eve. The overall experience was really positive, the room is is clean, eat and comfortable. It was much better thst stsying in a hostel or bed abd breakfast. Gigi was reslly kind and helpful the day we met. The room had tes, coffe, a kettle that amused our staying and also there were helpful maps indicating good redtsursnts around the neighbourhood. When in Rome, we will definitely go back to this place :)
Staying at Gigi’s was like visiting a hotel. We had some problems finding the apartment; after getting off the tram, you will need to cross the tracks before crossing the main road. This wasn’t mentioned in Gigi’s instructions so we ended up on the other side, confused.
The room has its own private bathroom attached, and Gigi welcomed us with a selection of tea and instant coffee, orange juice, and croissants (most of which Tyler devoured in the first few days). Gigi also provides a list of recommended restaurants in walking distance, and labels them on a map. The map was not very clear so we had trouble finding a few places.
Gigi was easy to reach by messenger, and we took advantage of his availability when the shower drain clogged. He came in to look at it one afternoon while we were out, and the problem was fixed… for a bit. After one or two more showers, the drain clogged again. The apartment is located near a busy road, so there is a good deal of traffic noise and ambulance sirens, even with the windows closed. This may be an issue for light sleepers.
Kind Tyler, thank you for your detailed review and for confirming we are heading to the right way with the hosting standards :) I didn't know about the sense of confusion you experienced while getting to the place on the first day. In the instructions I do give right after every booking I do specify even the house number and where to go from the airport/station . The confusion you got also with the local map (where I highlighted the house and the tram stop, as long as street names) makes me wonder: is it me being so confusing or is just a bad attitude of yours towards maps and directions? LOL...take care and thanks again!
I confirm all the positive reviews. Gigi's room with ensuite bathroom is a very good deal for the money. I stayed solo for 3 nights during an Indian Summer weather and I couldn't be more satisfied with my choice. If the 20 minute tram commute to Termini is not an issue for you, I totally recommend it. Plus, the Prenestina train station, which is a stone's throw away, is ideal for a day trip to Tivoli (just buy your ticket from a news-stand). I also highly recommend the nearby Osteria degli Ubertini for authentic roman cuisine - their weekday lunch menu is just 10 euro - a steal! Tips for the room: If you are a light sleeper you will need earplugs. Also, make sure you tell Gigi what time you expect to arrive at the house.
About the Host, Gigi
Travelling and meeting new people has become a whole life mission for me, and also a philosophy of life. I do work in close contact with the world and I try to "reach the world itself" while on holiday. I am often described as extremely quiet, with good skills of pleasant listener and talker.
I try to make my guests to feel at ease: when someone travels and meets a foreign person he just wants to feel welcomed. Breaking down any cultural or social difference that might tear us apart is the score...although I do think that becoming one better world gets through recognizing everyone as unique, because different.
