Amazing little gem in the heart of Gramercy Park area, New York.
500 sq. ft studio with sunken living area and wood burning fireplace. Very bright, perfect for a couple in search of romantic getaway or anyone who wants a centrally located place to explore the greatest city in the world. Stunning view of the Empire State Building, Wi-Fi, laundry in the building and walking distance to some of the best bar and restaurants in the city.
Walk to gramercy park and Union Square, stroll down Fifth Avenue for some shopping or enjoy the bars and jazz clubs of Greenwich village...Everything is so close and you will save a lot of money in taxis and transportation. Want to experience NYC crazy nightlife ? the meatpacking district is only 5 min. cab ride away (and by the way I can get you on the VIP list on any club, so don't forget your dancing shoes).
If you are interested in history and museums I can even arrange a guided tour, I was a PhD candidate in the history department at Princeton and I love taking my guests to the MET (Metropolitan Museum).
I am sure you will have an amazing time in NYC and you will come back again!
I loved the place I stayed in and Alex was so accommodating! I arrived late to check in and he made all the arrangements for me. Any little question I had was promptly answered and I never felt like I was bothering him. Thanks again Alex, I'll definitely book with him again in the future.

We had a terrific stay in New York in Alex's apartment.
Again, just like many other people's reviews before me, Alex had some sort of issue with the original apartment we booked (East Side), so we stayed in his other apartment. This review is for the Greenwich Village apartment:
The apartment was a little on the noisy side (it was a block or so from a night club with a thumping beat that went on until 4am) but the position was UNBEATABLE - right around the corner from SoHo and the heart of Greenwich Village. Everything was right around the corner... the infamous shopping district in SoHo, Magnolia Bakery, some gorgeous restaurants, the infamous comedy district, even walking out to Meatpacking District and Times Square was not an impossible feat.
The apartment was clean, very large (for a studio), and had a very clean bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the apartment had a rooftop that you could access for some fresh air if need be.
Alex was very accommodating from the get go - always responsive and gave us some great tips on eateries and bars. Also provided us with some small provisions to get us started which was more than we were expecting.
We had a very memorable New York experience, and we did so in style thanks to Alex. Thanks Alex - if we visit again we will be sure to call on you!
Alex was extremely accommodating as we arrived one day in advance with a very last minute notification. Still he was very flexible and didn't charge us for this extra night !!
We stayed on Bleeker street instead of the original apartment (due to this extra night) which is an amazing location (loads of nice restaurants, bars, artists ...).
The apartment is well furnished and decorated with taste. wifi works very well and you can even take it with you when going out (portative device).
I definitely recommend Alex for your stay in NY, he'll also give plenty of nice advices and recommendations for having a great stay !
Don't hesitate to contact us in case you drop by Brussels.
Cheers, Thomas & Caroline !
Alex was really accommodating and did everything that he did to ensure that I have a positive experience in New York.
My flight got into the city early in the morning at 9 AM and the original place was not ready and he was able to accommodate me in his other place down at Bleecker Street so I can get settle in before the official check in time.
Whilst I can not comment on the actual place at Gramercy, I can comment that Alex has been very responsive and easy to get hold off.
I would definitely recommend staying at Alex's for your next visit to NYC.
Alex was a very friendly host. We didn't stay at the original apartment since the fire department decided to do a last minute maintenance at his place. Alex contacted us beforehand and immediately relocated us to an even better place at Bleeker Street from a friend of his.
We arrived earlier than the original checkin time but he was super helpful and met us at the apartment at 9:30AM, giving us all the instructions and 2 sets of keys.
The apartment was nicely decorated and clean, the bed super comfortable and the neighborhood was perfect: lots of bars, drugstores, supermarkets and great restaurants.
He also gave us some tips about places to go and knowing we love to go out, he put us on the VIP list for his club and entertained us at the VIP lounge, where Dubfire from Deep Dish was playing. Couldn't be better!
He let us stay longer on the last day as well, since our flight was only at 9:30hPM.
We hope to keep in touch, we were very happy to meet you, Alex! When you come to Floripa, your first caipirinha is on us! :)
Alex was great and super friendly. My friend and i stayed here during our trip and he was very accomodating to having the two of us there. He even had two sets of keys for us. The apt was the perfect size and the bed was comfortsble. Alex even bought us some bagels and eggs. I deducted a star because the bathroom couldve been cleaner (there was some molding in the bathtub tiles that i did not care for and i had a hard time trying to twist the cold water knob to turn it on or off since it was coming off.
The apartment is in a very good neighborhood and is about 4 blocks away from the subway station, which is very convenient. It is also 2 blocks away from madison square if you are really into getting shake shack without waiting in line.
The internet worked just fine and we didnt have problems with it. It is slow so if you are trying to stream videos from like netflix if you plan on winding down at the end of the day and just wanted to watch a movie since there is no tv, its not going to play. Other than that, the speed is fine for normal browsing needs.
Alex's places is a cool, small and cozy pad in Gramercy Park area. Overall good value for money, and a couple blocks from the subway, with lots of shops/restaurants, all very close by. Alex is accessible and helpful - so there are no concerns about being abandoned or left to your own devices if something goes wrong (nothing went wrong). This building is a little older (common for Manhattan), but the apartment is clean and well maintained. Air-Con worked very well (I stayed in a very hot September in NYC). Towels and sheets nice and clean, good plug-ins, lights, etc.
I'd use it again - and thanks for being just a phone call away, Alex.
Awesome studio in a great neighborhood. Lots of restaurants etc close by but also close to Midtown shopping and LES. The studio is nicely furnished with an eclectic collection of objets d'art, and has everything you need for an NYC stay -- the big comfortable bed and the air-con were particularly appreciated during my stay over the summer. Alex is a nice guy and was great with communication before the stay, which made the whole process go smoothly. Highly recommended!
