About This Listing
This space is perched above tree tops and has a sunny spacious patio. It's part of a duplex that I just purchased and we are saving up money to remodel it. The kitchen and baths are clean and uncluttered, but they are from the 1960s. Besides the oldness of the stove and the bathrooms, the place is spotless, spacious, clean cheery.
The location is amazing and central to all that Santa Monica and greater Los Angeles has to offer. We have really convenient public transportation nearby.
****Important note about parking. We have a small one car garage that sits right below the apartment. It fits most sedans and small SUVs. It might not work something really big. This is the only parking option besides a street parking that is about a block away. There is no parking on my street. ********
The house was exactly as described, simple clean and in a really pretty neighbourhood. Our host greeted us on time and was super friendly, showing us everything we needed to know.
Nice quiet neighborhood in residential neighborhood. Basically the upper floor of multi unit garage with nice balcony overlooking citrus trees and garden. Two bedrooms with separate bathrooms, living room, kitchen, all clean and comfortable. Very helpful and friendly hosts. Great experience.
Great apartment in Santa Monica - very convenient location (10 blocks to the beach and Main Street with many cafes and restaurants, close to Abbot Kinney, close to freeways), airy and spacious, nicely decorated and well equipped...we really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it!
Beautiful and serene place in a very neat and quiet neighborhood. The apartment was so warm and cozy, it felt like home. :) It was exactly how it looked in the pictures, however the kitchen looked even better in real life as it was just newly renovated. We never had the pleasure of meeting Jody in person, yet she was extremely accommodating to all of our needs and was extremely thoughtful and helpful. She had her brother, Patrick, welcome us into the place. They provided parking, an amazing espresso machine that saved us every morning, a bottle of sparkling wine, and let us use two bikes--that we thoroughly enjoyed taking down to the beach.
Just a fabulous stay overall. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.
The host was away, so her housekeeper Elizabeth took care of us. Elizabeth was fine, but the apartment was not in as good condition as I was expecting from the other reviews. The building is aging and fragile. While we were there, the stove (which I hear is being replaced) had a gas leak, the sliding glass doors didn't want to slide, and the towel racks pulled out of the walls just from the weight of a wet towel. However, everything else was fine. The apartment is nicely decorated and spacious. I especially liked the peacefulness of the backyard. Having coffee out on the balcony while surrounded by the flowering bougainvillea was very pleasant. The location was pretty good - a bit far for walking to the beach, but convenient public transportation nearby. Having bikes available was a very nice perk.
Comfortable, Convenient, Serene, Spacious, Airy. There are numerous amenities provided by nature, landscaping, the Host and her assistant. The neighborhood is extremely pleasant and easy to travel no matter what form of transportation you use. This location is about midway between Venice and downtown Santa Monica or Marina Del Rey and Pacific Palisades. It is within a short walking distance to the beach, Pier, shopping and eating. Provisions are first rate and include extras to live like a local. My husband and I would definitely stay here again!

About the Host, Jody
I'm a yogini/mom dividing my time between Santa Monica and Maui, Hawaii. I am passionate about my Ashtanga yoga practice and raising my son.
5 things I can't live without:
My book club
I also love spicy food, dancing, fashion, people watching, and dipping into the amazing and wonderful Maui ocean as much as possible.
It's a fun neighborhood bar, good cold beer, a pool table, live music nightly an no cover charge. They only have beer and wine.
It's a little grocery store that is an easy walk and has a really nice selection of gourmet and basic stuff.
Really yummy and very reasonably priced.
Great tapas, cozy cute place, but not over the top in atmosphere, the best part is that you can bring your own wine, as they don't have a liquor license.
Great people watching and over priced groceries.
Fabulous food, cool scene.
I LOVE this place. All vegan and really tasty.
It's fun to rent bikes in Santa Monica, you can ride 23 miles to Manhattan Beach. You will see the Santa Monica Pier and ride through Venice Beach and the famous boardwalk.
Easy ride on the number 3 bus. Great shopping, movies etc.
This place is pretentious, but they really do make a beautiful cup of coffee. Great fashion watching.
My favorite street in the area. So many cool shops and restaurants.
This is a new restaurant and we went for brunch. It was insanely good and place has such an air beachy feel. You MUST try the french toast. Dinner is supposedly amazing too.
