This was the greatest experience! Great neighborhood, friendly hosts, amazing patio!
I will definitely stay in the trailer next time I'm in LA.
It works for two but perfect for one person.
Rosin and Tao were great! Super helpful!
Just a quick layover from Tokyo on the way to Cancun. This charming spot was perfect for my needs and my hosts were gracious and accommodating. If you want the great feel of retro camping in the city, I highly recommend a stay here anytime.
Loved staying here! I came for a mini solo writing retreat (and an escape from the Colorado winter). It was just what I needed. The trailer was adorable and decorated with care and special touches. The bed was incredibly comfortable, with a cozy mattress, pillows, and blankets, beside a shelf of books and magazines to peruse. I enjoyed hanging out in the yard, surrounded by beautiful flowers, succulents, vines, and artwork everywhere. The bathroom was really nicely done (again, artwork everywhere, inside and out) and very convenient. Roisin and Tao were laidback and friendly, and I appreciated their suggestions on restaurants and cafes. The location is perfect-- a short walk to both Abbot Kinney and the beach. My three days there were so rejuvenating-- it's a creative and inspiring environment, and I plan to come back again.
This place was even better than expected, and I expected it to be awesome. Here's why it was so good...
- Roisin and Tao were super friendly and helpful. Some of the best AirBnB hosts I've met.
- I loved the Trailer. The decor and bed were both perfect. It was vintage, but extremely clean and cozy. I fell asleep within seconds of hitting the pillow and slept like a baby.
- The backyard setting and bathroom were dressed perfectly. Eclectic and unconventional, but a much needed breath of fresh air from the norm of corporate hotels.
- Great location! Parking was ample and free, and it was a short walk to nightlife/restaurants/the beach. What more could I want?
So much better than a hotel! Worth every penny! BOOK IT!
Loved this place! Truly an oasis in Venice just a few blocks from Abbott Kinney. The trailer was darling, the bohemian outdoor living and dining space is straight out of Dwell (website hidden) and Tao were extremely sweet, friendly and warm hosts. Would come back and recommend to anyone looking for something different. :)
I had a great time staying in the retro-trailer. The trailer itself is perfect for the solo traveller and it's close to everything in Venice: the ocean, Lincoln Blvd and Abbot Kinney, etc. Thanks Tao and Roisin, you are most gracious hosts.
What a perfect & fitting place to crash in Venice! Cozy, comfortable, just what I needed. Tao was very helpful and friendly. Roisin - I'm sorry that I was running around so much that we didn't have a chance to chat. I really really recommend their trailer.
I was so excited to stay in the vintage trailer, and I was not disappointed! The decor inside was funky and perfect.. the bed.. exquisite.
The garden area makes you feel like you step into a place far away from the Venice hustle. I spent an hour just taking photos of the yard art.
I never got to meet Roisin, but Tao was always happy, smiley and helpful!
I wish that my itinerary wasn't so tight during my stay, so that I could have spent more time there.
Next time though!
Tip: Rent a bike for your stay (got mine at Bike Attack in Venice), Abbott-Kinney is walkable from the property, but a bike will get you everywhere and the roads in the area are better than 'bike-friendly'. In fact, bikes have the right-of-way!
One caveat: You need to be comfortable in your own skin and mind, know that there are up to 2-3 other guests that you will be sharing the central (awesome) bathroom with, so flexibility and a certain adventurous spirit is required. It's not at all a bad thing, but if you are a 'chocolate on the pillow' type, it may not be your thing.
A great spot and a great overall experience. A good little haunt close to the beach and central to shops and restaurants!
A beautiful cabin, eclectic decorations inside and out. I visited during a supposed LA chill (50s) and the little heater was just right. Tao was a great host. Very much appreciated the beginners guide to their neighborhood. The location is no joke.
I would still have chosen the Chic 60s trailer but I would've liked to have known there was another trailer (occupant) and house on the same property.
