If you are into architecture: this is the first house that Victor Horta built. The attic used to be my photo studio, now it is a place to host my guests. It's a nice open space under the roof, with a fully equipped kitchen and a private bathroom. You will love the light. And you will love Ghent... PS. No need to use your car, you are in the city-center.
The house has four floors, you would occupy the top floor. It has a large bedroom with a double bed (140cm), a kitchen, dining table, work desk and sofa, refrigerator, coffee machine, and toaster. On the third floor, you have a private bathroom and toilet. Please note there is no elevator.
My house is very much in the center of Ghent, you can reach everything that is worth seeing on foot. The tramway is around the corner.
Ghent is treat if you like art, good bars, restaurants and a university crowd. It is also the perfect base to visit Antwerp, Brussels and Brugge by train or by car (all are on +/- 50 km). I will share some suggestions on what to visit and where to eat, if you are interested.
If you are friendly traveler, you will find a nice place in a great city.
Thx and see you in Ghent.
You will be renting the top floor of my house. The studio has all the infrastructure of an independent apartment (kitchen, private bathroom etc...). On that floor, you will have full privacy. I live on the first two floors. We share the same entrance and staircase so we will meet occasionally. I hope we can mutually enjoy these brief encounters.
Interaction with guests
It would be nice if we can find time for a coffee and a chat during your stay. No pressure but while I am not traveling myself, you are my link with the rest of the World :-)
Other things to note
Please be aware that the studio is not a good fit for babies and children and that the maximum number of guests is two. Thank you for your understanding.
I will try to be the best possible host but please do not confuse me with a hotel owner and treat my house as it were your own.
You cannot smoke in the house.
I will give you a key for which I will require a deposit (a driving license or so).
You cannot bring any pets.
No parties, thx.
Only for registered guests unless discussed and agreed otherwise.
If you have specific questions, just ask me up front and we can discuss them. Thx for your understanding.
I am Belgian, 47 years old and a photography student. Before that, I did work for in marketing, in different European countries and in the US. I am an airbnb traveller myself, mainly using it while traveling/making documentaries.
