Its really up to the guest, some we don't see at all they come and go, others want a chat and pass the time of day, its up to you.
We love the quiet and the rural setting but are not too far from the town of Bridgnorth where you can enjoy the market, pubs, shopping and nightlife.
You will need a car for getting about or you can borrow a bike!

Duken cottage was a lovely place to stay.
Philip was there to meet us when we arrived, and let us in to the cottage. The neighbour's cat was also there to greet us!
Upstairs are two beautiful rooms: the lounge room and the bedroom. The beds in the bedroom were very comfortable, the TV was good, the pillows and duvets were down, and the rooms were very well appointed. The best thing was the lovely view across the paddocks.
The kitchen downstairs is fairly well-equipped, although the dryer function on the washing machine was not working (despite description on airbnb) and it did not spin very effectively. However the house was well heated so it was not a problem!
The only problem we really had was with the sofa bed. It was really too short for an adult, the bed was saggy, and the mattress was thin. It would probably be fine for a child, but it was not ideal for an adult.
But all in all, the cottage was excellent value, and was an extremely comfortable and pleasant place to stay. Thanks Phil!
Duken courtyard cottage is a beautiful retreat. Located in beautiful countryside, it is a tranquil and restful location. The cottage itself was very well presented with all the necessary amenities. It was so nice to be able to make a cup of tea and relax when we arrived, very unlike going to a cheap hotel which would be the same price! The hosts were extremely accommodating of our late arrival and very helpful when we met them. A perfect place to stay. We will probably stay their again next time we need to go to Shropshire. Thank you.
Hosts very welcoming. Accommodation just as described. Great location beautiful cottage and perfect surroundings great directions very comfy bed, lovely furnishings great views.
We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage. It's beautifully furnished and extremely well-equipped. The wonderful, very large bedroom looks out on peaceful paddocks, with lots of horses making the scene even more idyllic. The tea and coffee complete with milk was an unexpected welcoming touch. We'd love to return sometime.
We had a wonderful stay at Duken Courtyard Cottage. The cottage is lovely and we had everything we needed. The cottage was extremely well decorated. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in and our little boy loved sleeping in a "big boy bed". The box of toys and games cupboard was a lovely unexpected touch.
Phillip and his family were very welcoming and always on hand if required. The garden was a great bonus as our little boy loves nothing more than playing football.
The only thing I would say is that this property should be listed as a one bedroom that sleeps 4, rather than a 2 bedroom - not that it was a problem for us.
We hope to visit again one day in the future.
Thanks for a lovely stay.

Duken Cottage was an adorable location, very comfortable, and easy to get to from Liverpool. View of the paddock was lovely to wake up to! I was sick the duration of our trip so I did not get to explore the area as much as I wanted, but what I saw of the area was gorgeous and just a short drive to Bridgnorth and The Iron Bridge area. Would definitely recommend to anybody looking for a countryside getaway.
I am originally from Manchester but have settled in Shropshire with my wife Sarah and two children Toby and William. We have traveled and lived abroad in Munich and Paris.
