Ideally located in the valley area of Wintergreen, RVR is close to the resort AND lots of other attractions, including: hiking, breweries, wineries, Wintergreen's Stoney Creek golf course, Discovery Ridge (zip lines, tubing, rock wall), Lake Monacan, the Spa, and Rodes Farm pool (0.2 mi walk- guests have access from 2pm-6pm).

The space
Rockfish Valley Retreat is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home, perfect for families and friends looking for a peaceful retreat that feels away from it all, but is close to all the local attractions.
Minimum age requirement to book is 25 years old due to local housing laws and restrictions.
*We have enough beds to sleep up to 9 people, but recommend a max of 7 adults for the most comfortable stay. If staying with children, 9 people can easily stay comfortably. Our two families (4 adults and 6 children between the ages of 3 and 12 years old) love enjoying our house together!
Early Checkin/Checkout: Please contact us at the time of booking if you are interested in early checkin and/or late checkout for your stay. With advance notice, we may be able to accommodate your request and add the additional fee to your booking. The additional fee is based on checkin/checkout time requested, dates, and other factors. Early Checkin/Late Checkout fees usually range from $50-$100. Reach out for more details!
PETS: Pets are considered (up to one dog) with completed information sheet/waiver and non-refundable pet fee. Please contact us for more details PRIOR to booking!
We have a wonderful outdoor space, complete with a bar/TV area, grill, and a fire pit to enjoy on cool nights. Inside feels both cozy and spacious with windows looking out over the valley. The walking trail behind the house is connected to the horse farm across the street, so you can enjoy watching the horses walk by as you sip your morning coffee on the deck. We've also spotted lots of other wildlife including deer and rabbits!
INSIDE SPACE: The main living space has a sofa and two chairs for lounging. There is a dining area for 6 that is open to the living room. *Please note: The wood burning fireplace in the living room is for decorative purposes only and not able to be used due to fire code.
KITCHEN: Fully stocked for all your cooking needs. We have cooking tools, pots and pans, a Keurig coffee maker, dishes, utensils, basic spices, and more.
BATHROOMS: We have 2 full bathrooms – 1 on each floor. The downstairs bathroom has a bathtub/shower combo, the upstairs bathroom has a shower only.
ELECTRONICS: We have smart TVs in the living room and all bedrooms. We also have a smart TV on the back deck that is on a swivel mount so that it can be enjoyed from the lower deck as well! Our front door entry is keyless.
BEDROOMS: Downstairs you will find two bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has a queen bunk bed (queen over queen) and a single XL twin bed. The upstairs bedroom has a queen bed.
KIDS: A pack-n-play (with sheet) and booster dining seat are available for you to use, if needed. They are stored in the bunk room closet. There are folding step stools in both bathrooms, to help little ones reach the sinks to brush their teeth and wash their hands. We have plenty of family friendly games as well!
*Parents of babies, toddlers, and small children, please note: the house has wooden stairs without risers and no baby gates.*
OUTSIDE: We have a bar with two stools, 2 cushioned chairs, and a swing chair on the covered deck. On the lower deck, you'll find 4 Adirondack chairs. If you'd like to take advantage of a clear night, we keep a telescope in the downstairs queen bedroom for you to use! On the front porch we have two rocking chairs that face towards the horse farm.
Please note: We are located in the valley region amongst LOTS of nature and wildlife. This is one of the great things about our house, but unfortunately, this can cause inconveniences from time to time. We take numerous precautions to prevent wildlife (such as mice and bugs) from entering the house, but we cannot guarantee you will not encounter any during your stay. Additionally, we are unable to control inconveniences and conditions weather may cause. Rainy days and heat waves are sadly out of our control. We have regularly scheduled heating/cooling maintenance and pest control services performed at the property to help keep conditions as comfortable as possible and insects/critters outside. We have also added an additional AC unit upstairs to help during the hottest times of the year. Please keep in mind, the house is still a farmhouse style and will not cool as much (or as quickly) as modern homes. If you have any concerns about conditions/wildlife in the area, please reach out and we can let you know what conditions we've seen historically for your visit dates/time of year! We want you to have the best stay possible at Rockfish Valley Retreat, but are unable to offer refunds/discounts due to uncontrollable factors.

NEARBY: Rockfish Valley Retreat is in the valley area of Wintergreen, making us close to some of the area's most popular hiking and outdoor destinations (Crabtree Falls, Blue Ridge Tunnel Hike, and the more than 30 miles of trails at Wintergreen Resort). We are less than 5 miles from Bold Rock Cidery, the NEW Three Notch’d Brewery, Black Bear Creamery, and Devil's Backbone Brewery- just to name a few of our favorites! We are also only a few miles from many other local wineries, breweries, and cideries (over 30!), and restaurants.
