Porta Sabbionara apartments were built just five years ago on a street that leads directly to the shore and beach of Koum Kapi. Situated only 50 meters from the sea front, the apartments are walking distance from the center of the city and the Old Venetian port. It is a modern four-story building, consisting of one apartment on each of the first two floors and a duplex apartment taking up the top two.
The first-floor apartment consists of one bedroom, a bathroom with a shower, a living room, a kitchen, and a balcony with sea view. The apartment is fully furnished.
The Porta Sabbionara apartments are recommended for those who may wish to swim every day of their holidays at the nearby beach, enjoying the clear waters even at 7AM before breakfast and their daily program. At the same time they are conveniently near the town center, giving visitors the opportunity to take a walk in the streets of the old town, have a coffee or dinner, shopping and sight seeing in the old port, visit museums, or even take a guided bus tour around the city. We can provide you with all the information you may need to make your stay pleasant, for example the secret that the best bakery in town is only 50 m away. We can also arrange for car or motorcycle rentals and recommend day trips to important sites in and around the city of Chania.
I would appreciate if you do not smoke in the apartment.
Cleaning and change linen every three days is included in the price.
We stayed at Irini's flat for 5 days on our first trip to Greece in late November 2014, and highly recomend it for the location, amenities and host. She was at the appartment when we arrived and quickly made us feel at home. The appartment's fridge was stocked with delicious Cretan specialities including bread, fruit, cheese, yogurt and amazing home made orange preserve and cake! The appartment is exactly how you see in the pictures. It has a lot of light and was perfect for the two of us. Everything is new, clean and in perfect conditions, including the heater (it was cold in November) washing machine, wifi, coffee maker, toaster. The location is ideal. It is at walking distance from the old town, a nice beach for a swim, restaurants, cafes, bakery. We loved our stay and are already dreaming about coming back.
We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay in Chania. Irini was very welcoming and friendly and gave us very useful tips of places to eat and visit. The property is very well situated for the harbour area and its many cafes, tavernas and restaurants. The apartment was well appointed and perfect for the two of us.
Irini gave us a very warm welcome upon our arrival.
Appartment is really modern and nicely equiped. We enjoyed especially the local food such as cheese, self-made cake , orange jam ,etc... Irini left in the appartment as a welcome.
Neighbourhood is authentic with bars just around the corner. If you want to go for a swim a beach is also just around a corner.
And the touristic centre with the venetian harbour , etc... is also only a 5-minute-walk away.
All in all a 100%-recommadation...
We had a lovely stay in Chania and the flat was really nice. Great location, close to the sea, centre, bars and restaurants.
Irini made us feel very welcome. We had cheese, grapes and tomatoes waiting for us in the fridge as well as a bottle of wine and very tasty bread that she bought for us.
Amazing apartment. The building is beautiful and Irini was extremely welcoming/responsive to our needs. She was there to welcome us at arrival and even had refrigerator filled, fresh bread, wine, olive oil, and coffee/tea in the kitchen. The apartment is perfectly situated (about a 5 minute walk past many new cafe's from the old harbor). Parking is right in front and there is a stand at the corner with drinks, snacks, etc.
I would highly recommend Irini's apartments and look forward to staying with her again!
Irini was a great host. Because she was not going to be at Chania when we get there, she offered to meet us at Naxos where she also runs a hotel in summer. Her son Nikos met us at the apartment and gave us great orientation of Chania. The location is excellent for exploring the port and old town. The wine, olive oil, cheese and bread was a lovely welcome gift to Chania. I thoroughly recommend the apartment and host.
Irini and her son could not have been more helpful and accommodating during our stay. They directed us to the apartment, welcomed us upon our arrival, and made our stay stress-free by arranging taxi service when we needed it. The apartment is small, but had everything we needed. It is located in an older residential part of the city that is about a 15- to 20-minute walk from shops and the harbour. We enjoyed being able to work wherever we wanted to go. It enabled us to become acquainted with a small part of Chania. We recommend this apartment to anyone who likes a stylish, comfortable, safe, small, and quiet space. Many thanks to our hosts.

I was born in Athens, studied archaeology in Florence, and since 1985 live in Chania with my husband, who is an architect, and my two sons.We run the apartments business together depending on the circumstances, retaining the high quolity of our services all year round .
I love this place because it has a wonderful countryside and beautiful beaches.
I also love to swim, and here one can swim even during the winter, as the temperatures are not too low. In my spare time I like to hike in the mountains or stay at home reading about the history of Crete. I love cooking using fresh, organic Cretan products.
