Twenty minutes from Coffs Harbour and a thousand miles from care lies the quiet beachside township of Mullaway - one of the best kept secrets on the NSW north coast.
Conveniently located approximately half way between Brisbane and Sydney and just 1.5 kilometres from the highway and situated a stone's throw from the beach sits your quaint, renovated historic 1950's cabin. The cabin is beachfront and there are no roads to cross to get to the beach, just a well maintained small reserve. Mullaway is a step back in time to a less frenetic, more relaxed era. It's the way the world should be. Bring the whole family as the accommodation and beach are pet friendly.
The Coffs coast is littered with great beaches and several of the best are right at your door. Just through the sand dune at your backdoor is Cabins beach - only known to the locals - often you might be the only souls on the beach. Take a bottle of champagne down at night and watch the moon come up in privacy. From the cabin, at the end of the secluded reserve, take the boardwalk through the palms and rainforest, past picturesque coastal views to the surf at uncrowded Mullaway beach. Arrawarra is a well known long board break and the beach is great for a family swim. Mullawarra lies between the two and it is also a great place for a surf or a laze on the beach. Dolphins are frequently seen playing in the waves and from the headlands from early May till late November whales can be seen migrating along the coast.
Wildlife also abounds on the land. Kangaroos are regular visitors and black cockatoos, galahs, lorikeets, rosellas, kookaburras, tawny frog mouths, possums, goannas, bush turkeys, echidnas, frogs and geckos also may be seen.
Clean off on the way back from the beach under the outdoor shower, picnic under the frangipani tree, luxuriate in the tranquility, read a book in the shade or play with the kids in the yard or reserve. Don't forget to look at the star filled sky - best viewed from the beach at night with only the distant lights of Woolgoolga to be seen, then fall asleep in your peaceful beachside cabin, shutters open, bathed in fresh air with the sound of the surf gently lulling you to sleep.
The two room cabin has a double bed and two bunk beds in the bedroom and sleeping for a fifth person is available on application and is on a make-up bed in the lounge/dining room. Bathroom facilities are in a private, separate bath house containing two showers, twin sinks and a toilet. The large laundry also provides generous storage.
Good quality takeaway and general supplies are available from the Mullaway General Store. Shopping facilities and restaurants are a 5 minute drive south in the township of Woolgoolga.
PET FRIENDLY PROPERTY
Take your pets on holiday with you at this pet friendly accommodation with spacious yard and reserve behind.
We had a brief stay at this excellent little cabin. It was very clean, the beds were comfortable and it was quiet and peaceful. Peter and Lynn were helpful and welcoming hosts (from afar). The walking trails near the cabin were really lovely. Thanks for the unique experience.
We stayed for one night in the cabin on our way to Brisbane. The place is lovely and just 100m away from a beautiful beach.
What a great little cabin by the sea. Everything was accurately described and the cabin was well equipped and tidy. We particularly liked the funky décor and the outdoor picnic table and barbecue. Spent our days going for long beach walks, spotting dolphins and collecting shells. The General Store's beer battered chips made it hard to want to cook at home!
Thanks, May and Brett,
We had a brilliant time in the beach cabin. We totally chilled out. The setting is fab and the little shop/cafe around the corner sells the most amazing beer battered chips.
Peter and Lynn communicate immediately with you which is great.
The cabin we stayed at was adorable. Every detail or thing you would need was thought of. We enjoyed being so close to the beach, we only wish we would have stayed longer! Definitely will stay here again if we are ever in the area.
Simply an absolute treasure!
Our stay at the little beach cottage was extremely brief, but the facilities were clean, and the beds super comfy!
Would be great for a beach holiday, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Many many thanks to Peter and Lynn
We had a lovely 5 day stay in this small colorfully hideaway. We loved the short way to the nice beaches and our children immediately has fallen in love with the small cottage after arriving. The hut is in the middle of a birds paradise and there has been kangaroo's around as well.
Peter and Lynn has been a great and fast help if there are any questions...
We can strongly recommend to visit this place.

Such a gorgeous cabin! We loved our stay here and wished we could have been here longer. So lovely to be able to walk to the beautiful beach and then come back to the cosy cabin. Even the separate wash facilities made it seem like a real adventure! Thanks to Peter & Lynn for their hospitality.
We stayed one night at Peter and Lynn's magical retro 1960s beach shack - check out the historic photos they've framed - and highly recommend it. Stay longer if you can! An enormous amount of thoughtful effort and care has gone into creating this well set up space, which is so beautifully designed that it's only a matter of time before we all see it featuring in some stylish magazine. Everything you could possibly need is at hand, from the very comfortable beds to the fully equipped kitchen, to the huge shower heads that were a delight to use. And then there's the location - right on the beach. Which is pet friendly, like the beach shack. Our border collie had a wonderful time, made lots of friends and is demanding we return soon. She has also put a bright pink dog bowl like the one at the beach shack on her Christmas list! Thank you again Peter and Lynn :)
