The 4-bedroom home accommodates up to 7 people comfortably and consists of two wings: one with a master bedroom and bathroom and the other with 3 bedrooms plus an office. At the center of the home is the kitchen/dining/living room. With two wood-burning stoves located in the living room and kitchen and an additional fireplace in the master bedroom, the living area is encased in glass, allowing full sun, warmth, and light. High ceilings, wood floors, upgraded appliances add to the ambiance and functionality of the retreat.
Walk outside, and you find yourself on 12 private acres, complete with hundred-year old oaks and views that are unsurpassed. Just steps from the front door is a solar-heated swimming pool, with adjacent bathroom, deck chairs and patio set; all perfect for sunning and entertainment. The Monterey Transit System travels through Carmel Valley, however given that the home is located 1.3 miles from the nearest drop-off, private cars are advisable.
Other Things to Note
Note that a 10.5% transit occupancy tax has been included in the pricing of this home. Once you book the home, we will initiate and ask you to sign a short-term rental agreement to supplement that which is available through Airbnb.
This is a family-friendly home that will comfortably accommodate a maximum of 8 guests and visitors and 3 cars. To further underscore this, we do not accept requests for parties or gatherings, such as weddings and family reunions. We do ask that those who inhabit the home look after it as if it were your own, enjoy it, and take care of it for us. If children accompany you, be aware that the pool is ungated so they will need to be pool-safe and supervised. Please also know that we have neighbors who value the quiet-like sanctuary environment and so we ask that noise be kept to a minimum between the hours of 10pm and 8am. To underscore these issues, we will ask that you review and sign a short-term rental agreement and pool and spa waiver. And finally, while on the property, please don't feed the wildlife, especially the deer.

Twenty years ago, we purchased this 1953 post adobe ‘fixer-upper’ and created a home that has become a haven and retreat for all with whom we share company. Because the outside is where we have chosen to spend most of our time, the gardens, deck, and pool area have become an extension of the property. We welcome you to this slice of paradise.
