The Space

FREE guest street parking available outside apartment!

**The prior hot water issue has been fixed for several months, it's working great!**

The space is a modern, hardwood, 1 bedroom with full sized kitchen and living room and a full bathroom. All the furnishings are modern, with west facing window and accent lighting in the living room.

Enjoy an easy commute to down town -- about 20 minutes by bus or train with a 5 minute walk. Also located within walking distance of the Wrigley Stadium, run/bike path, and a beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline. Very friendly, safe neighborhood that's close to outdoor activities and nightlife, but quiet and peaceful at the apartment. The entry courtyard is right off the street, giving the apartment a great ambiance. Oh, and if amazing ethnic food is your thing, walk 30 seconds and take your pick on Broadway Ave.

Rental includes free high-speed wifi, entertainment center, covered outdoor bike lock, queen sized bed, full kitchen, and heat and air conditioning. The living room couch with built-in recliners (thus not a pull-out) provides a comfortable lounging space as well as additional sleeping space for one person. We also try to make sure there are some breakfast foods or snacks around.

Message me if you want to know anything else. I promise I'll get back to you promptly. I really want to make sure you have a great stay in Chicago!

  • We enjoyed our stay at this location. We were in walking distance to many things along with many great places to eat. There was a CVS close by for all the little needs. The space was private and nice. It also had a very open feel with a lot of natural light!

  • Getting everything set up with Richard was easy. The apartment was big and quite comfy for 2-3 people. The street was really quiet but close to some great restaurants and coffee shops. There were always plenty of uber cars available nearby to take us somewhere if we didn't want to take the train. Free street parking is always a plus but there were some restrictions if there was a cubs evening game (not the case for us).

Lakeview was a great area to stay in. I would stay here again and recommend it to people.

  • Richard's apartment was great. It's very large and comfy. The full kitchen and large living space were a treat. The location cannot be beat, and the building is quiet and cute.

  • Richard and Tonya were both friendly, helpful, and quick to response. The place was was quite simple with extremely comfortable couches. Even though it could have been more tidy, they accomodate well with hygiene supplies. The location was convenient with walking distance to restaurants, bars, lake shore, and grocery stores. The only downside was parking, while free, it wasn't easy late at night as most of the residents seem to stay in very early. Overall, a pretty good and basic place to stay.

  • Richard and Tonya were extremely informative and quick to respond. The place was just as listed, and was a comfortable place for our short stay in Chicago. Located just north of the city centre, there are plenty of restaurants, bars and grocery stores all within walking distance.

Parking, while free, wasn't particularly easy late at night as most of the residents seem to park and stay in earlier on.

Overall, a good, basic but comfortable place to stay for a trip to Chicago.

  • We had a great time staying at Rich's place! It is in a great location, close to shops, dining, entertainment, the lake shore, the bus/train.... Rich and Tonya were both very sweet and accommodating. We would definitely recommend staying at their place!

  • When we arrived, Richard was finishing up an interview, so the apartment hadn't been cleaned yet, which was a little disappointing. We waited around for an hour while the floor was cleaned, the trash was taken out, etc. In that hour though, Richard gave us some great tips on where to go, what to see, and things like that, which was super beneficial. We also had an issue with the hot water, but there is a work around and Richard said he was speaking to the landlord about getting it solved. Other than that, the apartment was good. The bed and couch were both super comfy and the apartment was plenty of space for me and two others.

Overall, it was a good stay for the 3 days we were there. Thanks again Richard!

  • Rich was a great host, very quick and responsive and ready to answer any questions. While I did not meet him in person obtaining the keys was no problem and all instructions were clearly written inside the apartment regarding TV and Wifi use.

-Nice clean apartment perfect for 1-2 people
-Excellent location. As others have mentioned it is situated on a quiet street between two busy avenues. Plenty of good food all around and a 10 minute walk from the Belmont red line stop.
-Has a guitar (email hidden) which was perfect for me!
    -Netflix available
    -Nice memory foam mattress
    -Plenty of space
-Rich is a great host and is always available to respond to your questions and concerns
-Value , the price for the apartment you get is great.

-Shower is cold to lukewarm at best and did not have hot water. This could have just been particular to the time I was there and should hopefully be fixed.
-Plenty of expired ingredients left in the pantry and fridge that haven't been cleaned out, some which have never been opened. Future guests should be weary of using these and check the expiration dates.

I would love to stay at this apartment on my next trip to Chicago. I just hope the shower water heating gets fixed.

Very social guy who loves adventure. I'm keeping up my apartment in Chicago because I love it so much, but spend most of my time in Madison with my girlfriend who's an emergency doctor. I love entrepreneurship and left my career at (website hidden) to work with startups. I also have a JD from the University of Wisconsin. I've taken to dabbling with computer voodoo lately. Last weekend I set up an Apache server on my old netbook and use it to host a mySQL database (now hosting a Wordpress site dedicated to the valuable life lesson's I've learned on Megabus) and FTP server. If you're not into computers, I'm sorry to have assaulted you with my nerd-speak. I'm also reading Team of Rivals. Which is awesome.
