Bright and airy, peaceful and cozy, full of light and plenty of artisan touches. I truly love my home and I love sharing its unique beauty with others.
I have two bedrooms, a small office, two full bathrooms, as well as two of the most nap-friendly couches in Austin. It's an open plan house with stained concrete floors, a gorgeous living and dining area, a custom concrete bar, and a sweet well furnished kitchen.
The master bedroom has a queen-sized eco memory mattress. The guest suite has a very comfortable full bed. If you have more than four people in your party then I can offer you an air mattress and/or a couple of comfy couches to sleep on as well.
I do have WIFI but no television on the premises to distract you from the awesomeness that is Austin.
I am looking forward to renting out the entire house out for XMAS/NYE, ACL, SXSW, and F1 weekends but I'm also open to hosting someone in just my guest bedroom for short stays as well. That listing is located here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1727257 if you are interested in that option.
Getting to Zilker Park can be a breeze if you want to ride the trail and avoid driving during the ACL weekend traffic madness.
During SXSW you will realize that you are in the heart of all the action. I'm located right off of Chicon between charming East 11th St. and very happening East 6th St. The whole east side comes alive during SXSW. You would be able to walk, bike, or bus to downtown in mere minutes...
My street is quite quiet and my neighbors are pretty friendly. There are tons of cool places within walking distance. Paul Qui's newest spot is just a few blocks away! Blue Dahlia, Quickie Pickie, and Franklin's BBQ is just down 11th. Tamale House East, bars and food trucks galore are right down 6th. East Side Pies delivers tasty pizza if you want to stay in ;)

I love the people that Airbnb has brought into my life. Stories, laughter, and adventures are more than likely. I will recommend endless cool places and events around town to you (if you so wish) and if I'm in town I will most likely invite you to join me to see music or art shows, go swimming at the greenbelt, or to eat & drink at one of the many fabulous places in my hood. I am also quite happy to leave you to explore Austin on your own (if you so wish!)
East Austin is eclectic, artsy, colorful, happening, and becoming increasingly hip(ster!) I LOVE being able to walk or bike around to so many amazing places.
It's Texas so it's always more convenient to have your own car. I do have street parking available.
The airport is about fifteen minutes from my house.
There is a Metrobus stop right down the block from my house that will take you pretty much anywhere you might wanna go...UT, Barton Springs, SOCO, and downtown.
You can even rent sweet bikes from my friend Lee's shop down the street.
Other Things to Note
I am registered with the city and your 15% hotel occupancy tax is included in the total already.
Smoking is only allowed outside. I have two porches and a big backyard with a firepit ;) No pets please.
Highly recommend! Great eastside Austin location for food, bars, good vibes -- lot of choices are walkable. House is plenty big for 4-5 people. And I love Ishi's decor!
This place was fantastic! It was in a great location in East Austin, close enough to great restaurants and bars. The house itself is super cute, plenty of room for our girls weekend. The kitchen was open to the living room/dining room which was perfect for what we needed! I definitely recommend staying here for anyone that has a group. There was even a great backyard that I wish we would of had time to take advantage of.
Ish's place is hands down the best place to stay in Austin. It is in the perfect location, just a short walk from all the live music venues, restaurants and bars in the East 6th or East 11th districts.. Her house is beautiful, spotless and decorated with paintings from local artists. I stayed in the house with another friend, and we each had our own bedroom and bathroom! Totally luxury. It has all the amenities you need and Ish even stocked the fridge with drinks and beer.. and to top it off, made us cookies for our arrival!!!
Ish is a great host - she sent us detailed tips beforehand on where to visit and eat/drink during our stay. She would even invite us to local parties and gigs, but at the same time she was very mindful of our privacy. We clicked with Ish as soon as we met her, so took up her offer to show us around Austin - she took us to local art fairs and we had a wonderful final night out in Austin with Ish and her friends.
Everything ran very smoothly - Ish gave us multiple cell phone numbers to make sure that the meet up would go well. She was waiting at the house on our arrival and gave us 2 sets of keys… the house even has an alarm system so super safe.
We will definitely be back to Austin.. and when we do we hope that Ish's place will be available! It really made a difference to our trip!
Ishrat is the epitome of "Southern Hospitality". Her home is in the perfect spot for checking out some of the cooler bars on 6th Street such as Hotel Vegas. We never managed to make it down to any art galleries but at Ish's home it felt like we were staying at one. Her home is stunning and we were lucky enough to hang out with her at a Patti Smith gig where it seemed she knew half the crowd then carry on the party with her friends who were every bit as fun, friendly and creative as Ishrat. Had such an amazing stay here. If you are looking for a place in trendy East Austin then this really is a top spot with a top notch host
We had a fantastic time here - a charming house with the most stunning decor located in the hippest part of town - easy walking distance to the best bars in Austin on East 6th street, such as Hotel Vegas. We couldn't have wished for a better experience. Ishrat is an amazing host who epitomises "Southern Hospitality". We were lucky enough to hang out with some of her friends who are an equally cool, hip, creative bunch.
