Cozy Garden Cottage in Menlo Park

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Alameda De Las Pulgas, Menlo Park, CA 94025, United States

The Space

You will enjoy the cozy, serene setting of this garden studio, which is located walking distance from West Menlo Park shops and restaurants, and less than 10 minutes drive/bike ride from Stanford, Sand Hill Road, downtown Menlo Park and the Caltrain station.

It has a private entrance and is nestled next to a beautifully landscaped garden. It's stylishly furnished and equipped with a comfortable double bed, a couch/office area, and basic kitchen amenities (microwave, refrigerator, hot plate, toaster oven, kitchen sink and dishes). The futon can also become a second bed (queen size), if desired.

For those who like to watch movies, the studio boasts a large flatscreen TV with satellite/cable (including HBO) and WiFi. For those traveling for work, there is a desk plus plenty of shelf space and an adjustable swivel chair. When you're not inside the studio, enjoy the garden area, complete with a BBQ and an inviting outdoor living space. During your stay, try to take a walk/jog through Atherton, a bike ride to Woodside and/or experience the shopping at Stanford Shopping Center.

The best local restaurant options, walking distance, are top-rated Flea Street Cafe and casual Lulu's (Mexican). In case you need wine, groceries or a good cup of coffee during your stay, there is also a convenient market located steps away. They even carry local Napa wines and most random necessities!

Menlo Park is conveniently located between San Francisco and San Jose. My house is closest to the 280 freeway (less traffic into the City) and a few minutes from Stanford. Half Moon Bay is approx 30-45 minutes away by car. I look forward to welcoming you to all of the charm that Menlo Park has to offer!

  • it is a very quiet studio in a backgarden and equipped with all you need for small meals. just round the corner is a country store where you can buy all you need, which is open from early in the morning till 10 pm. the distance to palo alto downtown and especially to the stanford campus is more than we expected by walking ( 45-50 min.)using a cae is helpful, because of that. amanda is very helpful in many ways, she even had s,ome basic stuff ready when we arrived. thanks a lot for that.

  • A perfect little backyard sanctuary. I had a great time here while I was going to Stanford - just a little drive down the road. The place itself was immaculately kept, had all the furnishings you would ever need. Massive tv and all channels were available - made for nice evening watching. Bed was comfy, shower very nice, overall a great experience. I plan to stay here again soon!

    Thanks Amanda!

  • I booked Amanda's place for my mother during her visit for graduation. It is very is clean, comfortable & located on a beautifully landscaped piece of property and in a great part of Menlo Park (eat at Flea Street!). Amanda was super responsive, friendly and accommodating each step of the way. I'd definitely return.

  • I rented Amanda's studio for my mother-in-law, who was visiting the Menlo Park area with my husband and I (we stayed in Amanda's two-bedroom property, which is on the same premises).

The studio is beautifully renovated and has all the amenities - fridge, shower, and basic cooking appliances. It opens out onto a beautiful backyard and is walking distance to great local restaurants as well as a short driving distance to Stanford and Downtown Menlo Park.

The studio was absolutely spotless when my mother-in-law arrived, and there is a great little store right next door (really friendly owner). Very quiet location and a really comfortable bed.

Amanda is such a great host, and was always really responsive to any questions I or my mother-in-law had. This is a gorgeous studio and we would definitely rent it again!

About
I work in tech and am fortunate to have lived in London for 4 years, back when mobile technologies were first taking off. I've traveled extensively, and have grown to appreciate a good host! When I'm not hard at work, (or traveling), I'm usually found engaging in outdoor adventures, such as snow skiing, water skiing, road biking, or spending quality time with friends. I've been a landlord for 8 years, and I am regularly hosting out-of-town guests, especially international visitors. I firmly believe that staying in someone's home in a nice neighborhood beats Starwood or Hilton Hotels ;) Because I enjoyed the Airbnb experience so much, in addition to renting my home in Menlo Park, I'm also managing my good friend Victoria's and her neighbor's guest houses in San Jose and my friend Debbie's house in Tahoe. We all used to work for the same company and have found that by working together, we can provide the best experience for our guests! Same quality, efficiency, communication process, etc. plus we've already learned all of the tips/conveniences and can apply it to multiple properties. We look forward to welcoming you to the Bay Area or Tahoe. All five properties are well-located, quiet, charming and family-friendly with friendly hostesses and a personal touch to make your stay a pleasant one!
