My Menlo Park cottage is well-loved by Airbnb guests from around the world. With a mini-kitchen, it's suitable for longer stays, and in close proximity to Stanford and Palo Alto. Ideal for 1-2 guests, you'll enjoy this quiet spot to call home. You will enjoy the cozy, serene setting of this garden studio, which is located walking distance from West Menlo Park shops and restaurants, and less than 10 minutes drive/bike ride from Stanford, Sand Hill Road, downtown Menlo Park and the Caltrain station. It has a private entrance and is nestled next to a beautifully landscaped garden. It's stylishly furnished and equipped with a comfortable double bed, a couch/office area, and basic kitchen amenities (microwave, refrigerator, hot plate, toaster oven, kitchen sink and dishes). The futon can also become a second bed (queen size), if desired. For those who like to watch movies, we've set up a large flatscreen TV. For those traveling for work, there is a desk plus plenty of shelf space and an adjustable swivel chair. When you're not inside the studio, enjoy the garden area, complete with a BBQ and an inviting outdoor living space. During your stay, try to take a walk/jog through Atherton, a bike ride to Woodside and/or experience the shopping at Stanford Shopping Center. The best local restaurant options, walking distance, are top-rated Flea Street Cafe and casual Lulu's (Mexican). In case you need wine, groceries or a good cup of coffee during your stay, there is also a convenient market located steps away. They even carry local Napa wines and most random necessities! Menlo Park is conveniently located between San Francisco and San Jose. My house is closest to the 280 freeway (less traffic into the City) and a few minutes from Stanford. Half Moon Bay is approx 30-45 minutes away by car. I look forward to welcoming you to all of the charm that Menlo Park has to offer! The cottage is completely private with its own entrance and no shared walls with the main house. Right next to the cottage is a garden with a shared outdoor patio area, including a BBQ. Guests have full access to the garden! It doesn't officially have access to a washer/dryer, but if I am in town, I am more than happy to schedule laundry time with guests once per week. I live in the main house at the front of the property and like to welcome my guests personally if at all possible. I am here if you need anything, including travel / restaurant tips, shopping recommendations, or of course if any questions about the cottage. Sometimes I rent out my house on Airbnb when I'm traveling, but I'll let you know in advanced about this so you don't get surprised by a stranger. Again the only shared access you would have is the garden. I also provide cleaning every two weeks for long-term stays at my standard rate (Stays one month or more). Street parking is right outside the house. Most people rent cars, but my cottage is close enough to Stanford that you can access by bike. There is a train (Caltrain) that goes between Menlo Park and San Francisco, or even SFO airport. I recommend that you take a cab from Menlo Park station to my cottage, since it's approx 45 minutes away by foot. If you like to walk to get coffee or go to the pub, there is a Starbucks about 10 minutes away by foot, or a couple casual restaurants/pubs in that same area (10 minutes walk). If you are going to San Jose, it's approx 30 minutes away by car or train. San Francisco is about 40 minutes away by car or train. Menlo Park is about 10 minutes away from Stanford and close enough to bike there. The Caltrain is easily accessible by bike, but a bit far to walk (about 45 minutes). Uber/Lyft also service the area... but most of my guests rent a car if they wish to go further than Stanford or the Caltrain station. The cottage is a converted garage with AC and a floor heater but no central heat/AC. Because the weather is so mild in this area of California, guests typically don't get too hot or too cold. I typically provide coffee, water and a few breakfast snacks to guests upon check-in. Let me know if you have any dietary restrictions.
