Come stay in a traditional Victorian in an authentic Newport neighborhood located in the West Broadway section of town. Ten minutes walk from town or five minutes walk from the bustling Restaurant Row section of the burgeoning Broadway area. The house is occupied by three cats (short hair, all of them) but they are pretty good at sharing and usually at hiding and ignoring strangers.
Entering from the front door onto the main floor you are greeted with views of a beautiful original staircase that winds it's way to the third floor, offering a beautiful architectural view up the center of the house. To your right through a glass paned door there is a spacious living room, a great spot for gather as you prepare for your day on the town. If the day is nice the front porch welcomes you with two rocking chairs, perfect spot for a cold glass of wine or beer on a warm summer evening.
Connecting the living room and kitchen is a formal dining room with room for four. Grab some chairs from the kitchen and crowd around if you're up for dinner in!
The kitchen is original with newly upgraded gas stove and stainless steel refrigerator. The kitchen is spacious and well laid out for cooking and visiting, and the adjacency of the dining room make it a social space.
Leading off the back of the kitchen is a small sun room filled with plants and, often, a cat or two. The entrance to the basement is here and there is a new washer and dryer in the basement. Also plenty of room for bikes and kayaks if you're coming to sample Newport's Great Out Doors!
There is an additional 3 piece bath on the first floor that can be used for overflow from the second floor bath.
The second floor is the location of the three bedrooms which share the large master bath. Completely gutted and rebuilt in the spring of 2013, sparkling white subway tile accented with basket weave tile floors and marble countertops make the master bath a beautiful spot.
The bedrooms are grouped around a good sized landing that is graced by an art deco period stained glass window. The morning sun lights this space so beautifully you'll be excited to start your day!
One bedroom has a queen sized bed and large closet with dresser. The second large bedroom has a full sized bed and a large closet. The third bedroom is small, but has a queen sized bed and a dresser. There is no hanging space in this room. The house is old and solid, there is great sound dampening in these old walls so privacy is not a major issue. The third bedroom is large with plenty of storage. There is a rollaway XL Twin bed in this room if needs require.
Owner has private room on third floor and is occupying the home. Fully furnished with everything you could need for your visit to the beautiful City by the Sea.

Sandi was a marvelous host! We couldn't help but feel welcome by her warm hospitality and notes. Although she wasn't available when we arrived, her house was set-up and inviting for our little group! The beds were super comfy and fluffy towels along with a comfortable living room allowed us to relax and unwind. Sandio surely knows how to treat her guests. I'd go back again!
We stayed at Sandi's house over the Newport marathon and half marathon weekend, and it was a wonderful experience. The house is spacious, easily accommodating the 5 of us.
We fit very well into the 3 bedrooms on the 2nd floor. We also had access to 2 full bathrooms, which was great for everyone's pre-race routine and post-race cleanup.
Sandi was out of town during our stay, but she was very responsive to my questions, and it was a snap to coordinate key pick up. We found the place clean with plenty of fresh towels. Sandi even let us use her kitchen - including cookware, plates and condiments - to cook our eggs and pancake breakfast. She also had a keurig machine with single pods, which was a huge bonus for us big coffee drinkers!
Location - just a few miles away from all the tourist attractions in Newport, including under 2 miles to Easton's Beach.
Please note that there are 3 resident cats in the house that mostly keep to themselves. 2 in our party are allergic to cats, but with a little bit of Zyrtec, we didn't have any problems. If Sandi isn't there, one of her relatives will come and take care of the kitties.
I would also like to applaud Sandi for being a very environmentally conscious host. All of her appliances were energy efficient and unplugged if not needed. She also gave good instructions on how to heat and cool the unit efficiently, which is a nice touch IMHO.
Though we didn't get to meet Sandi, we really enjoyed our stay at her home and would highly recommend the experience.
Sandi was a great host. We were a bigger group of friends competing in a sailing event, so our schedule was a bit unusual, but we were made to feel welcome and Sandi gave us so many tips on where to eat or go out, how to get around, etc. Not to mention the lovely house and neighborhood. All of us had a wonderful time.
What a happy discovery, Airbnb and Sandi's "Lovely Victorian." We felt like we had the whole house to ourselves, but were able to connect with Sandi enough to tell her in person what a great place she has. We saved over $250 compared to a hotel suite we had reserved. Wow!
And the bathroom. I just can't rave enough. Freshly renovated with style and expertise; clean, warm, well-lit, everything works perfectly.
If you want beige/bland uniformity, go to the Marriott. If you want comfort, style and excellent hospitality, contact Sandi. You'll be glad you did.
We had a great stay at Sandi's. The place was easy to find, a good location, and Sandi was a very helpful host, who even got us bagels in the morning! Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice place in Newport!
We had a great stay at Sandy's. The house is beautiful and has plenty of room. The bathroom is like being at a spa:) Sandy is such a nice person and she made us feel at home immediately! Communication was very smooth during booking and would definitely recommend staying here. Location is great - only a short walk to all the restaurants, bars and the harbor! Will definitely stay here again.
It has taken me the better part of three weeks to process the wonderful magic of my daughter's August wedding in Newport! A great deal of the credit is due to the generous hospitality of our warm and welcoming host, Sandi, and her utterly charming home on an adorable street. The amenities were perfect in every way for a bridal party - from comfortable bedrooms - to the luxurious bathroom - to the inviting main rooms and front porch. What is truly amazing is how easily Sandi makes you feel like it's your home, too. We will always treasure the photos and the many beautiful memories created here as two families became one. Thank you my dear friend, Sandi.
Sandi's house is the perfect newport getaway! The house is beautiful and the neighborhood is so cute. My group and I felt like we were at a little B&B, Sandi even got us bagels and cream cheese one morning. So sweet! Thanks Sandi for making us feel so welcome in your home!!
Our family had a delightful stay at Sandi's house in Newport. Her home is very clean and comfortable and she is warm and friendly. It's a short walk to the downtown shops and restaurants though we equally enjoyed wandering around the neighborhood looking for less touristy spots. We'd highly recommend Sandi's home to anyone looking for a place to stay in Newport!
Sandi's house was the perfect place to stay in Newport. My group occupied all three bedrooms that share a beautiful, newly renovated bathroom and every room was spacious, bright and clean. Sandi was extremely welcoming and made us feel like we were staying in our own little bed and breakfast! She was very generous and helpful, writing detailed driving directions to my friend's wedding to help us avoid the busy weekend traffic! I would choose to stay at Sandi's house over any hotel in Newport!
