If you like warmth, color, kindness, art, and nature, this is the place for you. Big garden, hammock, lovely private room w/ bathroom, quiet near river, kitchen access, near restaurants and fwy. Close to downtown. Super comfy bed in room for 1 or 2.
More of the bedroom and peek into the basic bathroom with shower, commode, sink, and towels etc. We supply shampoo and conditioner.
Come share the warmth, comfort, and creative productivity in this artists' house near Sacramento State University, downtown, the American River and the freeway. Have fun with the cats, go on a gorgeous tree-filled walk to the river, and enjoy yourself or focus on work while you are here. Optional yummy breakfast is only $8.00 per person.
You'll sleep well in a super comfy queen-sized memory foam bed that gets rave reviews. We will provide as much or as little interaction as you like, provide tourism tips, and generally act like non-intrusive fun and caring cousins.
There's free Wi-Fi, your own private bathroom, lots of light, kitchen privileges, you are welcome to hang out on the comfy couch and watch Netflix, and a mini-orchard in the backyard that you are welcome to feast on when the fruit is ripe. There's also lots of art, primarily from Mira and Guy but also from other artist friends and children's book illustrators.
We also have 2 lovely cats who are lots of fun but also non-intrusive if you're not a big cat person. We love being airbnb hosts because of the wonderful people we've met and the ways that we are able to share our lovely home while helping others.
Our house is a warm and welcoming place, full of light, color, kindness and creativity. Lots of parking and close to public transportation, freeway to downtown or Tahoe, as well as all sorts of great restaurants a few minutes drive away. We welcome you and you can even park in the driveway if you like :)
Mira is a children's book illustrator and writer and Guy works in social services. Unfortunately, the photos don't do the place justice but if you like quiet, clean, contemporary, with color and warmth and a lovely breakfast, this house is it. If you are thinking of visiting Sacramento and like warm people and an artful house, you've come to the right place.
Kitchen and living room during reasonable hours, garden, hammock, outdoor patio vintage table and chairs for eating or working. It's pretty lovely.
Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as desired. We tend to really like our guests and when able love to take them special places or just have fun together.
It's a safe neighborhood near the beautiful American River, which we love.
Ideally you'd want a car but there are buses and light rail fairly close by. There's also Uber, Lyft,
This is a non-smoking house. Wine or beer is fine in moderation. You are welcome to use the kitchen if you need but you are required to clean up after yourself. Let us know in advance if you'd like us to make a lovely breakfast for you and if there is anything that you don't eat. I think that is just about it.
We welcome anyone who would like to stay with us and has an openness to cats and kindness.
This was our second visit to Mira and Guy, and we'd be happy to stay with them again. We enjoyed discussing Mira's projects and ours.
I had a wonderful time staying with Mira and Guy. They were very friendly and made me feel like part of the family from the moment I walked in. I was shown into my comfortable room - great bed, little desk with wireless connectivity, and ensuite with shower and toilet. We dined out together each evening but for the rest of the time I either had the run of the house to relax in, or was out taking care of myself. As my first ever AirBNB experience I was really pleased. This was a great opportunity to meet two wonderful people and enjoy interesting conversation, learn about them and their lives.
As a very artistic couple, the house is filled with original works, and has a very non-commercial feel to it. They had their 2 friendly cats always patrolling around and checking up on the new guy. All in all a really nice stay with a great couple.
We loved being able to share some time with our hosts.
Guy & Mira were extra special. I had had the privilege of using several of Mira's books with my students in years past. To be in their home as we visited the Sacramento area was all the more unique,
We had a great time visiting with Mira and Guy -- talking about art, life, and all. The room was very comfortable, Mira's art was all around, and the location was convenient for us. It's close to US 50 and to the light rail line, for when you want to go downtown for sightseeing. Mira suggested restaurants nearby and places to see. We had a thoroughly pleasant time with such good hosts!
Mira and Guy are interesting and gracious people, and we felt very welcome in their home. Mira's breakfasts were delicious, plentiful and healthy. The bed was awesomely comfortable which is hugely important. Great location and no parking worries, too. Great value and a nice experience for anyone visiting the Sacramento area.
Mira responded very quickly to all my emails. The BnB was great, Mira was a welcome host, very nice and great to talk to. She cooked up some yummy eggs for me. The room was very clean and warm and nice as well. I'd recommend them.
Mira's got a groovy little spot that's perfect if you're looking to rest and rejuvenate. She's an interesting dynamic woman welcoming hostess, with her husband Guy, they are making you feel like you're a family friend versus a visitor. Wonderful place for adorable people!
