My family stayed here while in town for a wedding. The location was so central that it was a quick drive to everything we went to. The house was very clean, the WiFi was good. The only negative was that we couldn't iron our clothes before the wedding because the iron pulled too much electricity. It kept throwing the breaker even on the lowest setting. We had no problem with blow driers or curling irons, though. My dad's CPAP machine worked fine as well. The hostess was easy to communicate with. Very positive experience.
This host and the home were exactly what we were looking for and made our first airbnb stay wonderful! The house had everything we needed and was clean and convenient. We enjoyed the park that was less than a black away. She also has a gorgeous garden that we admired while sitting a cup of coffee (host provided) in the nice backyard. We would highly recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in Charlottesville!
There are few places better to wake up than in this home. It was the perfect spot for serenity on a weekend escape. Gwendolyn has set up her home to make things easy for guests, and the few days there were perfect. Recommend morning coffee/tea on her front steps or in the backyard.
The host was very welcoming! She even let us drop off our cold food early in the morning so that we could go explore the wineries.
We loved our stay at Gwendolyn's home! It was beautiful and full of light! The kitchen was fantastic, with a gas stove and a coffee grinder. Gwendolyn was kind enough to leave us a wide range of teas and some Shenandoah Joe's coffee, in addition to some breakfast options (our daughters loved the toast!). A perk we didn't consider was that her home was literally a half block from an awesome playground--my small daughters were thrilled! Very conveniently located in a great neighborhood.

About the Host, Gwendolyn
After a life of traveling to and living in many places, I chose Charlottesville as my hometown because it is awesome! I now run a restaurant and own a sweet little home in Bellmont with a view of the not so far off mountains. I choose to host for Airbnb because I enjoy meeting people and still being a part of the traveling community. My years of travel and hospitality experience help me to know how to keep my home inviting and comfortable for guests. I spend many of my off work hours reading, hiking, tinkering on the house, or hanging out with friends around town.
