The house was great and easy. We had 3 couples so we used both beds and the futon couch. Gwendolyn was easy to reach and the weekend went off without a hitch. Would stay there again.
Very comfortable and clean house in a quaint, quiet neighborhood conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Charlottesville. The back garden was especially lovely for sitting outside with a cup of tea with old friends. There was plenty of parking on the street near the house and inside the house itself was cheerful and eclectic. It was a great spot to meet for a long girls' weekend reunion.
Gwen was great with communicating information about arrival and departure and she has helpful notes about the house labeling or explaining useful information and tips.
The house was amazing and the the whole vibe of the home gave us a real local feel. Everything was as advertised and the home even came with local coffee and tea, as well as fresh veggies from the garden. The home was over and above what we were expecting. Would stay again in a heart beat.
I really enjoyed our stay at this home. It was as described and looked like it did in the photos. The house is very personal and well cared for. And it was very clean! I would definitely stay here again.
My family stayed here while in town for a wedding. The location was so central that it was a quick drive to everything we went to. The house was very clean, the WiFi was good. The only negative was that we couldn't iron our clothes before the wedding because the iron pulled too much electricity. It kept throwing the breaker even on the lowest setting. We had no problem with blow driers or curling irons, though. My dad's CPAP machine worked fine as well. The hostess was easy to communicate with. Very positive experience.
This host and the home were exactly what we were looking for and made our first airbnb stay wonderful! The house had everything we needed and was clean and convenient. We enjoyed the park that was less than a black away. She also has a gorgeous garden that we admired while sitting a cup of coffee (host provided) in the nice backyard. We would highly recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in Charlottesville!
There are few places better to wake up than in this home. It was the perfect spot for serenity on a weekend escape. Gwendolyn has set up her home to make things easy for guests, and the few days there were perfect. Recommend morning coffee/tea on her front steps or in the backyard.

About the Host, Gwendolyn
After a life of traveling to and living in many places, I chose Charlottesville as my hometown because it is awesome! I now run a restaurant and own a sweet little home in Bellmont with a view of the not so far off mountains. I choose to host for Airbnb because I enjoy meeting people and still being a part of the traveling community. My years of travel and hospitality experience help me to know how to keep my home inviting and comfortable for guests. I spend many of my off work hours reading, hiking, tinkering on the house, or hanging out with friends around town.
